Xing Kelei was pinned by falling rocks. Mi Ka tried everything but couldn’t move them. Xing Kelei told her not to waste energy and just sit with him for a while. With oxygen depleting in the mine, Mi Ka gave Xing Kelei an oxygen mask. After a few breaths, he handed it back to her. Struggling to breathe, he said he had something to tell her.
He had wanted to confess his feelings during their lavender field visit, even prepared notes, but now he could recite them from memory. He admitted he wasn’t perfect but said he wanted to become a fortress for Mi Ka, shielding her from all storms. If she liked him even just a little, he asked her to hang on and survive. After saying that, he lost consciousness.
Mi Ka quickly placed the oxygen mask on him and then tried CPR—but eventually, she too lost consciousness. Luckily, Li Nian’s team arrived in time and rescued both of them. They were safe. When Xing Kelei woke up, the first thing he did was ask about Mi Ka. Li Nian and the others teased him with silence, making him anxious, until Mi Ka walked in. Seeing her safe, he was relieved.
He shooed everyone out for some alone time, then confessed again. He said he heard her say she liked him while he was unconscious. Mi Ka agreed to date him. Thrilled, Xing Kelei took out the stuffed keychain Mi Ka had once given him and said they had now saved each other once, making things even. Mi Ka was shocked—realizing that the SWAT officer who saved her back then was Xing Kelei.
When she asked why he hadn’t told her earlier, Xing Kelei said he wanted her to truly like him, not just feel grateful. Mi Ka looked into his eyes and said she liked him for who he was. The two embraced tightly. The rescue team's work was nearly complete. Ruan Qingxia and the medical team were set to return, while Shu Wenbo and Lu Feng stayed behind for reconstruction.
Before leaving, Granny Zhang gave farewell gifts to Ruan Qingxia and Shu Wenbo, saying they made a good match. Lu Feng, standing nearby, was visibly displeased. Once home, she finally had time to reflect on all the moments she had shared with Xing Kelei. Her heart was filled with sweetness and longing. Meanwhile, Xing Kelei was searching the mountain for a signal, just to confirm Mi Ka had arrived home safely.
Back at the hospital, Mi Ka resumed work, while Xing Kelei remained in the disaster zone for reconstruction. He was due back in Jiangning on Monday. Upon hearing this, Mi Ka became nervous and asked Ruan Qingxia if she should prepare something. Ruan Qingxia advised her not to be too eager and to let Xing Kelei take the initiative. Meanwhile, Lu Feng told Xing Kelei not to come on too strong and to start cool, then warm up later.
Neither had much dating experience, so they both followed their friends' advice. Though they wanted to see each other, they pretended otherwise—one claiming he had to return to the team, the other saying she had a night shift. Mi Ka wasn’t originally on duty, but because she believed Xing Kelei, she swapped shifts with Chen Xiaoyan.
Back at the hospital, Mi Ka received good news: Shao Yuhan had reported her outstanding performance in the earthquake relief efforts to the hospital leadership, and they decided to transfer her back to neurosurgery. While Mi Ka was on duty, Lu Feng took Xing Kelei shopping for ingredients. Xing Kelei said he no longer intended to follow Lu Feng’s advice—he planned to meet Mi Ka that night.
