Li Bing and several others from Mingjing Hall were analyzing whether Qin Wan had lied, as long-term psychological pressure makes it difficult to quit taking Five-Stone Powder. Alibaba did not keep up with Shangguan Qin and returned to Mingjing Hall with a dejected look. Shangguan Qin found the accessory shop and saw the female shop owner tied to a chair with her mouth stuffed with cloth strips.

After Shangguan Qin notified Li Bing and his group to rush to the scene, they learned that the female shop owner was named Kou Niang. She was Du Cheng's lover. Du Cheng had asked her to redeem a zither string from a pawn shop before, but Du Cheng usually lived in poverty, so where did the huge sum of money come from? Kou Niang did not know. Du Cheng and Qin Wan had been very close before.

Qin Wan's family was wealthy and he could prepare Five-Stone Powder himself. The powder he made had high purity and was excellent medicine. The two often took the powder together. The medicine peddler first colluded with Du Cheng to kill Qin Wan, and then killed Du Cheng to silence him. Wang Qi thought that Du Cheng had often sought out a medicine peddler for medication for his previous back injury. The Five-Stone Powder near Shenping Fang all came from Zhao the medicine peddler. Shangguan Qin and Li Bing led the team to Zhao the Great Immortal's cave. Zhao the Great Immortal was performing a ritual, muttering incoherently.

Li Bing ordered his arrest. Zhao the Great Immortal suddenly took a dose of Five-Stone Powder, becoming incredibly strong, shaking Wang Qi and Sun Bao several meters away. Immediately after, he took several more pills to increase his power. A moment later, he foamed at the mouth and died. Wang Qi and Sun Bao carried the body out of the cave. Li Bing found a zither string on the table.

There was powder under the zither string, which was likely Qin Wan hiding the Five-Stone Powder he prepared inside the zither body. The case was solved, but Li Bing felt that many things were too coincidental. Shangguan Qin discovered that the tassel Kou Niang was looking for had Asarum on it. Upon returning to the Lanxin Accessory Shop, they saw that Qin Shu also foamed at the mouth and fell to the ground.

Kou Niang returned to Court of Judicial Review with Shangguan Qin and explained what had happened. Kou Niang had served Qin Wan very early on, and the two gradually developed feelings for each other. However, Qin Wan only liked music and was not skilled in academics, which Qin Shu was very displeased with and often beat and scolded Qin Wan. One time, Kou Niang talked back to Qin Shu and was driven out of the Qin residence.

A few years later, she heard about Qin Wan's situation, and after the two met again, Kou Niang helped Qin Wan quit taking the powder. Qin Wan wanted to pass the imperial examination in order for the two of them to be together legitimately sooner, so he sought his brother's forgiveness. After that, the subsequent events occurred. Zhao the Great Immortal and Du Cheng were able to find Qin Wan because they were instructed by Qin Shu.

Qin Wan's initial use of the powder was also Qin Shu's idea. The truth came to light. Shangguan Qin did not claim credit, instead giving Alibaba credit. Li Bing was still preoccupied with his thoughts. From the beginning with the 'Jia' character, Yi Zhi Hua, and the Longwang Temple tablet, it seemed he was always being led to investigate the case.
