Everyone at the station is aware that Yu Qilei plans to leave. Yang Zhengang discusses the matter with Lin Luxiao, suggesting they hold a proper farewell party. He also uses the situation to argue for participating in the firefighting reality show, reasoning that if even firefighters' families don't fully understand their work, it's crucial to show the public what their job truly entails.

Lin Luxiao has a heart-to-heart with Yu Qilei, who admits that while he loves being a firefighter, he feels overwhelmed by personal problems he can't solve. Lin acknowledges that life must be more than just work and assures Yu that whatever he decides, the team will support him. Later, a guilt-ridden Liu Ruyi writes an apology letter to Yu, expressing his support and poignantly stating that should anything happen to him, he trusts Yu Qilei to handle his will.

Meng Guohong introduces the program's producer, Jiang Ge, to Lin Luxiao and Yang Zhengang. Lin sets strict conditions for filming: it must not interfere with regular duties, spread misinformation, or disobey command. Jiang Ge agrees, explaining the show will be an unscripted documentary with guests fully embedded with the firefighters. He also reveals the top-performing guest will be cast as the lead in his company's next drama.

Meng later tells Lin that the pragmatic Lou Mingye was the one who suggested their station for the show. Lin confides in Meng that despite his best efforts, he feels he's not doing enough as a station director. Meng advises him to practice empathy, sharing a regretful story of a promising firefighter who had to leave the service due to an illness that wasn't detected in time.

Lou Mingye, meanwhile, sees the show as a chance to prove Lin's training methods are outdated and hopes the experience will force Lin to confront this. As filming approaches, the firefighters humorously start paying more attention to their appearance. The guests for the show, "Flaming Youth," arrive, and Lin Luxiao is stunned to see dancer Nan Chu among them. Immediately, an alarm sounds for a fire, and Lin's team rushes out, leaving Yang Zhengang to handle the new arrivals.

Two guests, Yan Dai and Xu Zhiyi, immediately complain about the sun, but Yang firmly instructs them to put away their phones and umbrellas and forget their celebrity identities. When Lin Luxiao returns, he addresses the guests as their chief coach, demanding absolute obedience and discipline. Jiang Ge, hoping to create on-screen conflict, is frustrated by Lin's strict control.

During training, Nan Chu learns from firefighters Shao Yijiu and Qin Shiquan that they were inspired to join the service after Lin rescued them from an earthquake as children. Later, Nan Chu discreetly sends her assistant, Xi Gu, away after another guest, Xu Zhiyi, begins ordering her around. At dinner, Lin publicly reprimands Yan Dai and Xu Zhiyi for being late and stops Jiang Ge from conducting interviews, enforcing the no-talking rule in the canteen.

Noticing Nan Chu is eating very little, he warns her that she'll collapse during training if she doesn't eat properly. Afterwards, Lin organizes a wire-cutting drill. Jiang Ge complains that such basic training isn't telegenic and suggests focusing on high-tech equipment. Lin challenges him to try the drill; Jiang Ge fails repeatedly.

Lin then flawlessly demonstrates, explaining that while the training seems mundane, a millimeter's error in a real situation can cost a life, demanding that they show respect for the profession. Sobered, the guests apply themselves more seriously. However, during a fire extinguisher exercise, Nan Chu freezes when faced with the flames, paralyzed by the memory of a house fire five years ago. Knowing her trauma, Lin holds back his anger.

He confronts Jiang Ge for not doing proper background checks on the guests. Jiang Ge callously dismisses his concerns, arguing that Nan Chu overcoming her fear would make for compelling television. Enraged that his life-and-death profession is being treated as a "show," Lin Luxiao furiously calls off the filming and orders the entire crew to leave the station.
