Unique Lady Season 3 Episode 25 Recap
> Unique Lady Season 3 Recap
Zhong Wumei arrived at Qiyu Xinggong to negotiate with Jin Chen and Liu Xiuwen. Liu Xiuwen stated that if Zhong Wumei wished to protect Lin Luojing, he should surrender what they sought, and they would, in turn, provide what Zhong Wumei desired. Zhong Wumei, abhorring their actions, accused Jin Chen and Liu Xiuwen of colluding to steal the Crystal bead, which had caused immense suffering to the people along the Sheng Jing River.
He questioned if this truly represented Liu Xiuwen's sense of righteousness. Liu Xiuwen dismissed Zhong Wumei's ideals as nonsense, asserting that those destined for greatness in history could sacrifice anything. He declared that both Lin Luojing and Sheng Jing were expendable in his eyes, and the true question was what Zhong Wumei was willing to sacrifice. Jin Chen then snapped his fingers, and a person whose figure and attire resembled Lin Luojing was brought in by his subordinates.
Jin Chen threatened Zhong Wumei, ordering him to cut his own arm. Zhong Wumei cried out for Lin Luojing, begging Jin Chen not to harm her, and offering to do anything. Jin Chen questioned if Zhong Wumei truly meant it and commanded him to cut his arm. When Zhong Wumei hesitated, Jin Chen scorned him, suggesting Lin Luojing was not as important as he claimed. Jin Chen then summarily killed the hooded figure.
Zhong Wumei rushed to examine the body, relieved to discover it was not Lin Luojing, and Liu Xiuwen also visibly relaxed. Lin Luojing, who had been watching the scene silently from a nearby room, tears in her eyes but unable to move or speak, felt a surge of emotions. Jin Chen then handed Zhong Wumei a sword, and Zhong Wumei immediately inflicted a wound on his arm, which began to bleed.
Jin Chen instructed Zhong Wumei to meet him alone at Kong Wu Peak two days later at dusk, bringing the method to activate the Crystal bead. He warned that if anyone else accompanied him, Lin Luojing's life would be forfeited. Zhong Wumei agreed to his terms. He later tended to his bleeding arm, acknowledging that it did not hurt. Internally, he affirmed his love for Lin Luojing.
Meanwhile, trapped, Lin Luojing worried for Zhong Wumei, wondering about the severity of his wound and if it had been treated. She pondered how their story had taken such a turn, fearing Jin Chen would inflict more cruel demands at the decisive confrontation and praying Zhong Wumei would not make any decision that would harm Sheng Jing or himself for her sake. In a different location, Tang Meng's intimate servant, Tan, secretly extinguished the intoxicating incense and untied Jiang Xuanyu.
Tang Meng discovered this and angrily slapped Tan, who tried to explain that continued exposure to the incense would endanger Jiang Xuanyu. Jiang Xuanyu, now awake, questioned Tang Meng's actions and demanded to be untied, stating that Lin Luojing was the one in immediate danger. Tang Meng insisted they were safe and that she was protecting him. Upon hearing Lin Luojing's name, Tang Meng became furious.
When Jiang Xuanyu revealed that Tan had disclosed everything, including Tang Meng's collaboration with Jin Chen, Tang Meng ordered her guards to drag Tan away. Tang Meng then confronted Jiang Xuanyu, accusing him of still being in love with Lin Luojing. Jiang Xuanyu, calling her crazy, tried to reason with her, explaining that while he once had feelings for Lin Luojing, he had moved on after their engagement.
He revealed that the bracelets Tang Meng saw him buy with Lin Luojing were actually a birthday gift for her, and Lin Luojing had merely helped him choose. Tang Meng refused to believe him, convinced that Lin Luojing harbored ulterior motives and that Jiang Xuanyu had been spending his days with her.
Jiang Xuanyu retorted by reminding Tang Meng of her own deception, specifically how she fabricated an affair between Lin Luojing and Liu Xiuwen, which set off a chain of unfortunate events. Tang Meng admitted to knowing everything, confirming that her previous disappearance was due to this. She tearfully declared her love for him, saying she didn't want anyone else to interfere with their relationship.
Jiang Xuanyu explained that Jin Chen had manipulated her jealousy to destroy everything, including Sheng Jing, and that she had been his pawn since the moment she unveiled Lin Luojing. He urged her to release him so he could rectify the situation, assuring her that no one would blame her. Tang Meng, however, was in deep despair, believing that Lin Luojing and Zhong Wumei were doomed and that Jin Chen would kill everyone.
She desperately pleaded with Jiang Xuanyu to stay with her, promising they would be safe and together forever. Jiang Xuanyu could only watch her in sorrow, wondering how she had become so consumed by her distorted view of love. Back at the palace, Zhong Wumei declared his intention to confront Jin Chen alone. Zhang Ji, his loyal head guard and long-time friend, expressed his disapproval, fearing for Zhong Wumei's safety. He offered to accompany him, vowing to face any danger.
Zhong Wumei tested his loyalty, asking if he would risk his life to save Xi Que, even if it meant certain death. Zhang Ji immediately affirmed he would. Zhong Wumei then decreed the marriage of Zhang Ji and Xi Que, stating that this fulfilled a long-held wish for both him and Lin Luojing. He instructed them to calmly await his return with Lin Luojing, reminding Xi Que that her lady always managed to turn danger into fortune.
Zhang Ji promised to wait for their safe return and pleaded with Zhong Wumei to also keep his promise and attend their wedding. Later, Zhong Wumei was approached by Liu Xiuwen, who expressed his resentment towards Zhong Wumei but acknowledged that their personal grudges were secondary now that Lin Luojing was heavily poisoned by Jin Chen. Liu Xiuwen claimed to have the antidote. Zhong Wumei, suspicious, questioned if this was a message from Jin Chen.
Liu Xiuwen then revealed Jin Chen's location, explaining that Jin Chen had left the secret chamber to study the Crystal bead, leaving it unguarded. He suggested a plan: he would distract the guards while Zhong Wumei rescued Lin Luojing. Zhong Wumei agreed. However, as Zhong Wumei and Liu Xiuwen put their plan into action, the ease of their infiltration raised an alarm for Liu Xiuwen. It was a trap. Jin Chen had anticipated their arrival and captured them both.
Jin Chen brought all three to Kong Wu Peak, where Zhong Wumei and Liu Xiuwen were imprisoned in separate cages, and Lin Luojing was tied to a cross. Jin Chen gloated, revealing that he had intentionally leaked information about Lin Luojing's capture to lure them into his game, mocking Zhong Wumei for falling for such a simple scheme. He further taunted Zhong Wumei about losing Su Yiyi and questioned what else he had left.
Liu Xiuwen, distraught, confronted Jin Chen, asking why he involved others when his hatred was directed at him alone. Jin Chen silenced him, stating that everyone, including Lin Luojing, Liu Xiuwen, and Hua Ying Chi, was complicit and none were innocent. When Liu Xiuwen tried to reveal the secret of the Crystal bead, Jin Chen interrupted him, declaring that the game had just begun and he wasn't ready to end it.
Jin Chen then demanded Zhong Wumei hand over the incomplete page of the Crystal bead. Zhong Wumei complied. However, instead of a full cure, Jin Chen only provided a palliative medicine for Lin Luojing, effective for merely one month. Zhong Wumei, realizing he had been tricked, confronted Jin Chen, who coolly stated he had only promised "an" antidote, not a complete one.
Jin Chen then presented Lin Luojing with a cruel choice: she could pick one man to leave with her, while the other would die there. Lin Luojing defiantly refused to choose, even offering her own life instead. Jin Chen scoffed at her love, mocking its futility and mentioning Jiang Xuanyu and Hua Ying Chi, implying he had harmed them as well. He threatened to kill Lin Luojing if she didn't choose.
Ultimately, Jin Chen released Zhong Wumei and Liu Xiuwen from their cages, handing them swords and forcing them to fight each other. He declared that the one who killed the other could take Lin Luojing and leave. Lin Luojing desperately pleaded with them not to listen to him. Jin Chen reiterated his terms, threatening to kill Lin Luojing if they did not cooperate. The two men reluctantly picked up their swords.
Liu Xiuwen, believing himself to be a man of shadows while Lin Luojing was his light, urged Zhong Wumei to kill him, declaring his willingness to die for her. Jin Chen, aware that Liu Xiuwen intended to save the antidote for Lin Luojing, magically compelled Liu Xiuwen to attack Zhong Wumei instead. As Zhong Wumei managed to cut the ropes binding Lin Luojing, Liu Xiuwen, under Jin Chen's control, fatally stabbed Zhong Wumei.
Lin Luojing rushed to Zhong Wumei, holding him as he uttered his last words, "Jing, I'm sorry. I love you." As she wept, a crystal bead floated out of her body, surprising Jin Chen, who realized it was the missing part. Furious at being deceived, Jin Chen declared that none of them would leave alive. He then forced Liu Xiuwen to attack Lin Luojing.
Liu Xiuwen, struggling against Jin Chen's control and urging Lin Luojing to escape, regained a moment of self-awareness and tragically committed suicide. Lin Luojing cried out in despair for both Zhong Wumei and Liu Xiuwen. Suddenly, a system message appeared, stating "Player Lin Luo Jing accomplished a sad ending and has finished the story." Refusing to accept this outcome, Lin Luojing pleaded with the system to go back, expressing her desire for revenge against Jin Chen.
The system then informed her that she had received a "Restart game +1" special item, allowing her to return to the system and unlock a new ending. Lin Luojing realized her bracelet, which had previously flashed less often since Hua Ying Chi's transformation, was the key to this second chance. When offered a choice between "revenge" and "rescue," Lin Luojing chose rescue, explaining that succumbing to hatred would make her no different from Jin Chen. She reasoned that revenge wouldn't bring them back and that violence only perpetuated an endless cycle. Her true desire was to save them.
