Lin Luojing discovered that Xi Que had feelings for Zhang Ji, who also reciprocated, though he had not yet confessed. Lin Luojing decided to teach Xi Que how to make men confess first, starting with the strategy of "playing cat and mouse." She explained that since Zhang Ji was accustomed to Xi Que’s constant presence, suddenly ignoring him would provoke a reaction.

Xi Que imagined Zhang Ji desperately pleading with her not to ignore him, professing his love, and asking them to be together. Xi Que put the first strategy into practice, ignoring Zhang Ji for several days. Confused and worried, Zhang Ji pondered whether he had upset her or done something wrong. Xi Que, however, remained resolute, reminding herself of Lin Luojing's instruction not to speak until he confessed.

Misinterpreting her silence, Zhang Ji concluded it must be his fault, declaring, "Xi Que, it's all my fault. I'll punish myself to run 50 rounds around the Mansion. I won't bother you before you calm down." Xi Que was taken aback, realizing his reaction was not what they had anticipated, and he quickly ran off. Devastated, she cried that Zhang Ji did not like her.

Lin Luojing comforted her, assuring her that Zhang Ji was simply "too shy" and that they had a second plan. The second strategy Lin Luojing taught was "jealousy," where Xi Que would pretend to be interested in another man to provoke Zhang Ji into confessing. Xi Que envisioned Zhang Ji proclaiming his love and claiming her as his own after she feigned leaving him for another.

As Zhang Ji approached, Xi Que and Xiaoyu, disguised as Master Yu, put on an exaggerated show of affection, hoping to elicit a reaction. Xiaoyu, as Master Yu, made a flamboyant declaration of love to Xi Que. Zhang Ji observed them, reflecting that while he had long admired Xi Que, his role as the Prince’s guard meant constant danger, and he might die in battle.

He decided that if Master Yu could truly provide for her, he would be happy to bless their union. With a heavy heart, he wished Xi Que happiness and walked away. Xi Que, believing Zhang Ji did not care for her, burst into tears and ran off, thinking he did not love her. Lin Luojing stopped her, revealing they still had a third strategy.

Zhong Wumei found Lin Luojing’s "pursue men" manual near her bed and, misunderstanding its purpose, jokingly confronted her about neglecting him and potentially pursuing another man. Lin Luojing clarified that she was helping Xi Que. Xi Que then appeared, confirming the situation. Zhong Wumei suggested that Xi Que simply tell Zhang Ji her feelings, or he could arrange a marriage.

Lin Luojing rejected this idea, explaining that in her world, proposals involved romantic gestures like flowers and balloons, and a woman should not be so direct. She doubted a forced marriage would bring true happiness. Zhong Wumei, knowing Zhang Ji's long-standing service, believed Zhang Ji's reluctance to marry stemmed from his dangerous profession as a guard, fearing he couldn't guarantee Xi Que’s safety.

Xi Que tearfully interjected, expressing that she did not care about the danger and would follow Zhang Ji even to the battlefield, declaring she would not live without him. When Zhong Wumei asked if she truly meant it, she confirmed without regret. Zhong Wumei devised a plan. He sent Zhang Ji to fetch water from the backyard, knowing Zhang Ji would overhear Lin Luojing and Xi Que talking.

As planned, Zhang Ji heard Xi Que confiding in Lin Luojing about her love for him and her belief that he didn’t reciprocate, and Lin Luojing encouraging her to express her true feelings. Subsequently, Zhong Wumei and Lin Luojing, disguised as masked assassins, staged an attack, pretending to kill Xi Que. Zhang Ji rushed to Xi Que’s "lifeless" body, expressing remorse for not protecting her and pouring out his heartfelt confession: "Xi Que, you can't die.

I have a lot to tell you. I like you, Xi Que, I like you!" Hearing his confession, Xi Que sprang up, thrilled, and embraced him, playfully scolding him for not speaking sooner and almost "maddening her to death." Zhong Wumei then lightheartedly asked if he could bestow the marriage now, but Lin Luojing insisted they should date first. Lin Luojing beamed with satisfaction, stating this achievement was more fulfilling than winning the business competition.

Zhong Wumei then teasingly asked if she was not happy with him. Lin Luojing then questioned Zhong Wumei if he would push her away during times of danger, just as Zhang Ji had hesitated. Zhong Wumei admitted the question stumped him. Lin Luojing demanded his promise to always keep her by his side, no matter what. He readily agreed, but then playfully suggested it was time for her to focus on his happiness after days of helping another man.

Zhang Ji later reported to Zhong Wumei that Lin Luojing was out teaching about "business marketing," leaving Zhong Wumei bewildered by her new endeavors and wondering why she had left him alone so early. Lin Luojing, now known as "Miss Lin" by her students, was indeed teaching a class on "resource exchange" to the Qi Yu people.

She explained the concept of mutual exchange and encouraged them to apply it in their daily lives, offering to communicate via carrier pigeons for any further questions. Her students, calling her "Miss Lin," eagerly posed questions. Liu Xiuwen then arrived, stating Lin Luojing was tired, ending the class, and promising a continuation the next day.

Later that day, while Lin Luojing dined with Liu Xiuwen at Linjiang Tower, he observed her joy in receiving gifts from him, like a kite and a pearl necklace. He subtly questioned if Zhong Wumei treated her well, as he never seemed to give her precious items. Lin Luojing defended Zhong Wumei, describing him as a good man but "a straightforward man" who lacked romantic flair.

Liu Xiuwen then mentioned a special crystal bead, a Zhong family heirloom only seen by family members, implying Zhong Wumei had never shown it to her. Surprised, Lin Luojing claimed ignorance of such an item and speculated Zhong Wumei had simply been too busy to tell her due to their tumultuous relationship. Liu Xiuwen feigned agreement and offered her a drink.

As Lin Luojing and her attendants parted from Liu Xiuwen, he entrusted her to Xi Que, who assured him of Lin Luojing's safety. Later, Xiaoyu, who was also accompanying Lin Luojing, expressed concern about potential gossip, given Lin Luojing's status as the Consort and Liu Xiuwen's as Prince Qi Yu. Lin Luojing dismissed her worries, stating her meetings with Liu Xiuwen were "open and honest."

Back at the mansion, Lin Luojing still felt neglected, wishing Zhong Wumei would perform more overtly romantic gestures, but resolved to patiently teach her "dull man." Upon returning to her room, Lin Luojing found Ye Chen Xi and Zhong Wumei together. She demanded an explanation for their late-night meeting. Zhong Wumei attempted to prevent Ye Chen Xi from revealing something to Lin Luojing, stating it was not the right time for Lin Luojing to know her true identity.

However, Ye Chen Xi intervened, accusing Lin Luojing of hypocrisy. Ye Chen Xi claimed Lin Luojing was seen "flirting" with Prince Qi Yu at Linjiang Tower and accepting a necklace from him, now feigning innocence. Lin Luojing denied flirting, asserting her relationship with Liu Xiuwen was "open and honest."

Hearing Lin Luojing refer to him as "Xiuwen" and the details about the necklace, Zhong Wumei questioned if Ye Chen Xi's claims were true, with Ye Chen Xi adding that Liu Xiuwen had personally placed the necklace on her. Lin Luojing angrily acknowledged Ye Chen Xi's past help but warned her against interfering with her relationship. Zhong Wumei, focusing on Lin Luojing's admitted meeting with Liu Xiuwen, pressed her for confirmation.

Lin Luojing defiantly admitted it, arguing that since Zhong Wumei had never given her anything precious, she was free to accept gifts from others. Zhong Wumei scolded her, calling her actions "nonsense" and "disregarding the overall situation" given the strained political relations between Sheng Jing and Qi Yu. Lin Luojing retorted, reminding him of her contribution to his victory in the third business competition and implying his helplessness without her.

Enraged by her arrogance, Zhong Wumei began to speak, but Lin Luojing interrupted, accusing him of being "incredibly jealous," then predicted he would try to cast her out to make room for Ye Chen Xi. Lin Luojing declared she would leave the main residence and revert to her role as a female doctor in her side hall, telling Zhong Wumei to find another Consort if he wished. She then stormed out.

Ye Chen Xi smugly asked Zhong Wumei if this was the outcome he desired, to which Zhong Wumei replied that her willfulness had not changed over the years. A cold war ensued between Lin Luojing and Zhong Wumei, with neither willing to speak directly to the other. Lin Luojing fumed that Zhong Wumei had not apologized, vowing not to speak first and lamenting that he no longer cherished her, suspecting her at the slightest provocation.

Zhong Wumei, equally stubborn, refused to apologize, maintaining that Lin Luojing was in the wrong for disregarding the political situation and that he was justified in his words. He also bristled at her implication that he was reliant on her, insisting that as a man, he should not always be the first to yield. Their animosity was evident during breakfast, as they communicated through Zhang Ji and Xi Que.

Zhong Wumei criticized the breakfast for being bland, implying Lin Luojing was "jealous." Lin Luojing retorted that while he could indulge in "vinegar," her dumplings should remain plain. Zhong Wumei then questioned if her preference for Qi Yu cuisine indicated a dislike for the Mansion's food. Lin Luojing affirmed her enjoyment of food from anywhere but expressed disdain for dining with a "vinegar jar," calling him a "savage."

Witnessing their ongoing conflict, Zhang Ji and Xi Que worried about the consequences. They discussed how Lin Luojing wished Zhong Wumei would yield first, but with neither budging, they wondered if the "happily ever after" in romance novels was a mere fantasy. Xi Que then recalled a novel where "assists" played a crucial role during a cold war, much like Lin Luojing and Zhong Wumei had assisted her. They decided to act as "assists" by publicly displaying their affection.

Zhang Ji fussed over Xi Que, asking if she was hungry and promising to take her for delicious food. Xi Que responded with exaggerated endearments and a playful kiss. Zhong Wumei watched their flirting with annoyance, finding it embarrassing to be alone while his guards were "flirting." Finally, Zhong Wumei decided to concede. He mused that "good men never fight with women."

He worried, "If she keeps ignoring me and really runs away with Liu Xiuwen, what should I do then? It's not worth it at all." Furthermore, he found it embarrassing that even Zhang Ji had Xi Que by his side, while he remained alone. He asked Zhang Ji about Lin Luojing's whereabouts. Zhang Ji reported that Xi Que was waiting for her, but Lin Luojing was out shopping with Xiaoyu and had not yet returned.

Meanwhile, Lin Luojing was indulging in a shopping spree, buying almost everything in sight (except for items in "Death Barbie Pink"), instructing Xiaoyu to send all purchases to Yuan Zheng Mansion. She rationalized her spending, claiming it was a way to use Zhong Wumei’s money to support the common people, which made her happy. Xiaoyu remarked that locals were openly wishing for more arguments between the Consort and Prince, as it boosted their businesses.

Lin Luojing found humor in this, embracing the situation. Back at the mansion, Zhong Wumei waited late into the night for Lin Luojing, complaining about her absence and wondering if she missed him at all. When Zhang Ji suggested he go inside, Zhong Wumei, attempting to maintain his dignity, claimed he was merely "admiring the moonlight." Just then, a guard announced Lin Luojing's return.
