Tomb of the Sea Episode 6 Recap
> Tomb of the Sea Recap
The crew members who had been exposed to the white fuzz from the dry corpses in the pond started to exhibit alarming symptoms. A spore plant, when inhaled, would swell with water and obstruct the trachea, causing suffocation. Faced with the treacherous dry corpse pond as their only path forward, Su Nan took the lead. She tied a rope around herself and carefully traversed the pond, securing the rope on the other side for the remaining team members to follow.
However, when Li Cu was halfway across, he became overwhelmed with terror. Seeing his panic, Wu Xie quickly went to him, offering encouragement to help him cross. But Li Cu's extreme fear caused him to blurt out Wu Xie's secrets to Master Ma. Although Master Ma initially seemed indifferent to Wu Xie's identity, he became convinced that Wu Xie had been to this place before and demanded that he lead the way to the gems.
Wu Xie insisted he did not know the way. As Master Ma's subordinate, Kaikai, was about to take action against Wu Xie, Su Nan ingeniously triggered the spore plants, creating a diversion that allowed everyone to escape the immediate danger. During the chaotic escape, Li Cu got separated from the group. He wandered alone through the underground palace until he stumbled into a mysterious room. This room also featured a pond, but instead of water, it was filled with coffins.
Just like before, spore plants covered the ground, and there was another door on the opposite side. Li Cu began to cross the pond by stepping on the coffins. As he reached the last coffin, Wu Xie and Su Nan appeared, descending from above to rescue him. However, when Li Cu opened the door on the other side, he inhaled the spores and started to struggle for breath.
When Li Cu regained consciousness, Wu Xie was nowhere to be seen; only Su Nan was by his side. Su Nan initially spun a tale, claiming that after Li Cu lost consciousness, a group of people attacked, and Wu Xie killed them all before she barely managed to escape with Li Cu. She then probed Li Cu about his knowledge of the "seven-finger pattern" and his reasons for being in the underground palace.
Li Cu, growing suspicious, realized she was testing him. He confronted her about her knowledge of the seven-finger pattern, which he had never mentioned to her. Su Nan then dismissed her story as a joke, revealing that she had only given him regular painkillers and that Wu Xie was fine, currently with the others discussing their escape plan. Wu Xie explained that the underground palace was divided into East and West Palaces, which were mirror images of each other.
He deduced that these two sections were on the same horizontal plane and connected in a parallel manner. To find their way out, they needed to locate the precise connection point between the two palaces. As they continued their search, they uncovered a pile of weeds to find a deceased team member, confirming the inherent dangers of the place.
Wu Xie, consulting a map of the East Palace, reasoned that given the symmetrical, opposite design of the two palaces, they should turn left to reach the edge of the palace, despite a team member pointing out there was no visible path in that direction. Wu Xie asserted that the palace's designer would not have broken the consistent symmetrical pattern. Meanwhile, Su Wan and Yang Hao were held captive in a room.
They discovered a ventilation shaft, which they used to crawl into an adjacent room, where they hid inside some boxes. From there, they overheard a conversation about auction artifacts being moved to the old stage. They eventually found themselves pushed before President Zhang, who ominously stated his intention to send them to a place they would never wish to revisit. Separately, Liang Wan was searching for Li Cu and Su Wan.
She tracked down Li Cu's head teacher using hospital records. After some persuasive questioning, she confirmed that Li Cu was alive. She then inquired about Su Wan, learning that he had also been absent from school without leave, causing her to worry that he might be in trouble. Liang Wan, feigning a distant familial relationship to both students, quickly left. Su Wan and Yang Hao were led into a room filled with masks.
Su Wan was horrified to discover masks resembling Li Cu and their head teacher, Yang Jingmi. Believing both to have been murdered and their faces flayed, they frantically fled the Crescent Hotel. As they made their escape, two separate groups began to follow them, one of which was affiliated with the Crescent Hotel. President Zhang, informed of their escape, instructed his subordinates to prepare for an operation, but specifically ordered them not to harm the two boys.
