Thousand Years For You Episode 28 Recap
> Thousand Years For You Recap
Upon discovering Mei had escaped from the underground palace, Lu Yan confronted Wei Du, questioning why he continued to lure outsiders there for sacrifice. Wei Du quickly apologized, explaining that he only knew the entrance to the underground palace, not the exit, and ordered his men to release Mei. Lu Yan, with no other recourse, instructed Xin to take the disoriented Mei back to the General Mansion for recovery.
He then firmly commanded Wei Du to cease using human lives for sacrifice to the Dust-proof Bead. Meanwhile, Dengdeng informed Paralyzed Yu that every soldier in the city bore a dragon mark. As they discussed this, Wei Du summoned Dengdeng.
Wei Du expressed his disapproval of Lu Yan marrying a Spirit Clan woman but stated that, seeing Lu Yan’s deep affection for her and her lack of memory of her past, he could reluctantly accept her as the Queen of Shu. He emphasized that if Dengdeng chose to marry Lu Yan, she must abandon her Spirit Clan identity and refrain from using energy magic, warning of consequences if she caused unrest.
Wei Du also assigned a team of guards to her. Dengdeng understood this was a tactic to monitor her, but she accepted it for Lu Yan’s sake. However, she couldn't resist a subtle jab, pointing out that Lu Yan possessed a Spirit Clan Energy Core, making him part Spirit Clan, and that their future children would also carry Spirit Clan blood, much to Wei Du's consternation.
The next day, Dengdeng, accompanied by her new guards, ventured out into the city streets. She indulged in a shopping spree, quickly burdening her entourage with numerous purchases. During her outing, she made an unexpected discovery: a prosperous market district concealed a restricted area heavily guarded by soldiers. Taking advantage of the guards accompanying Dengdeng, Paralyzed Yu successfully escaped the mansion.
He used a yellow talisman to probe the city's boundaries, only to find that despite its apparent small size, it seemed boundless. As he explored, he repeatedly returned to his starting point, confirming his suspicion of a deeper mystery. His wandering led him to the forbidden zone, where he serendipitously reunited with Dengdeng. The father and daughter then worked together to sneak into the forbidden area. Inside, the forbidden zone was scenic but yielded no immediate clues.
Paralyzed Yu, after careful observation, realized it was a Guardian Formation. He could not locate its eye and concluded that only the person who set the formation would know its exact location. Considering Wei Du's apparent hatred for the Spirit Clan and his mortal nature lacking the necessary energy to sustain such a formation, Dengdeng made a daring hypothesis: Wei Du might be colluding with Zhu Rong. Concurrently, Lu Yan made his own discoveries.
He found that the Dust-proof Bead could not absorb or release energy, leading him to believe that the city's inhabitants owed their extended lives to the very formation Dengdeng had discovered, likely set by Zhu Rong. As they discussed this, Dahai's stomach began to rumble, prompting an apology for his earlier trip to the kitchen where stale food upset him.
He then recounted a peculiar incident at the latrine: he saw someone enter but never exit, and upon checking, found no one inside. Dengdeng revealed that Paralyzed Yu had experienced a similar phenomenon, further solidifying her suspicion that this was not mere surveillance but something else entirely. She decided she would personally investigate the matter the next day.
Lu Yan, after revealing that Mei was now safely housed in the General Mansion and should be taken to Baile Village when they left, expressed his intent to secure the Dust-proof Bead for Dengdeng and arrange their escape while he stayed behind to handle the aftermath. Dengdeng, though concerned, trusted his judgment and agreed to wait for him in Baile Village.
Later that night, Zhu Rong appeared before Wei Du, reminding him that Lu Yan's Energy Core was destined to return to Dengdeng, an act that would result in Lu Yan's death. Wei Du, though shaken by this revelation, tried to distance himself from Zhu Rong, but Zhu Rong vanished, confident his words had planted a seed of doubt.
Recognizing that any further actions against Dengdeng would anger Lu Yan, Wei Du instead ordered Mei, who was still unconscious from a sedative, to be taken to Lu Yan's room. Lu Yan returned to find the sleeping Mei there. After he confirmed she was merely sedated and unharmed, Lu Yan allowed her to rest in his room and chose to retreat to his study to continue his investigations. Xin, however, quickly relayed the situation to Dengdeng.
Dengdeng summoned Lu Yan, who asked what she wanted. Without a word, she grabbed his collar and pulled him into her room. Lu Yan was taken aback by her uncharacteristic behavior. Dengdeng simply told him to make her bed, dismissing the perfectly made bed by others as not to her liking. Xin, smiling knowingly, discreetly closed the door and left.
Realizing she knew about Mei, Lu Yan hastily explained that Wei Du had acted on his own initiative, and the woman in his room was Mei from Baile Village who had helped them. Dengdeng, cutting him off, declared her ownership of him and, after instructing Xin to inform Wei Du that Lu Yan would stay with her that night and to warn Dahai not to gossip to her father, pulled Lu Yan to bed.
As they lay together, they reminisced about past events. Dengdeng playfully asked if he remembered the first time they were on a bed together, then commented on his scholarly room, assuming a general would prefer weapons. Lu Yan explained that after witnessing so much bloodshed on the battlefield, he preferred a peaceful home environment.
Dengdeng promised that when they returned to Qingquan Stronghold, she would arrange a separate courtyard for him where he could live a peaceful life pursuing scholarly interests. They both acknowledged having new discoveries they wanted to share with each other.
