Chen Maidong initially thought Zhuang Jie was acting on a drunken impulse, but once he realized she truly wanted to go further, he stopped holding back and reached out to help her remove her prosthetic limb. That act suddenly brought Zhuang Jie back to her senses. She pushed him away and angrily accused him of trying to force her. Chen Maidong was stunned.

Watching her get dressed and walk away in a huff, smashing the clay figurine before leaving, he felt a deep chill in his heart. That night, Chen Maidong rode his motorcycle to take Zhuang Jie home. They remained silent the whole way until they reached her doorstep. After giving serious thought to their relationship, Chen Maidong admitted that he couldn’t embrace pleasure in the moment and couldn’t treat feelings lightly the way she did.

He decided it was time to end this fleeting affair. Back home, Zhuang Jie saw the card her younger sister had written for her. Liao Tao didn’t object, thinking it would be good for her to clear her mind. While taking out the trash downstairs, Wang Xixia encountered a rude man. At the critical moment, Cui Ge stepped in and spoke up for her, earning her favor. As a result, Wang Xixia invited Cui Ge to her home for a chat. Meanwhile, Zhuang Jie called Wang Xixia to vent.
