Li Mu and Duan Qianjie decided to investigate the Black Voodoo Cult's base, while Xie Jingxuan proposed that she and Du Shaoyang search together. However, Du Shaoyang chose to go alone, telling Xie Jingxuan they could meet later at their usual spot.
Meanwhile, Night Fairy and Du Shaoyang tracked down two members of the Ghost Eye Race, realizing the duo had been planning an escape rather than meeting at the city gate. They swiftly dealt with the two, silencing their cries for help. Night Fairy questioned Du Shaoyang's intentions, and he revealed his plan to divert Qin Lie’s group to Ye Yihao.
At the same time, Duan Qianjie and Li Mu confronted Ye Yihao, who admitted to manipulating the Supreme Voodoo Insect and causing the chaos in Black Jade City. Li Mu expressed disbelief that Ye Yihao alone could cultivate such a powerful insect, demanding to know his accomplice. Ye Yihao confessed to colluding with the Heaven Fighting Race, stating his goal was to restore the Voodoo Cult to its former glory.
He planned to infect Gong Mulie (Qin Lie) and the Mother of Land (Ling Yushi) with the Supreme Voodoo Insect, turning them into formidable slaughtering tools for the Heaven Fighting Race, thereby revitalizing the Voodoo Cult and purging those who had scorned them. He declared that the time for this plan had arrived. As Qin Lie and Ling Yushi searched, they found La Pu in distress.
While attempting to help him, Ling Yushi was bitten and poisoned by the Supreme Voodoo Insect, seemingly transmitted from La Pu. Concurrently, Qin Lie experienced an excruciating headache and unsettling sensations. Elsewhere, Ye Yihao, sensing Ling Yushi’s poisoning, urged Duan Qianjie to kill her to prevent future complications. However, Li Mu, recognizing the dire situation, quickly executed Ye Yihao with a single sword stroke.
Xie Jingxuan witnessed Li Mu killing Ye Yihao at the city gate and attempted to slip away. Upon Ye Yihao's death, the voodoo insects within Xie Jingxuan's body dissipated. Soon after, Chu Li found her, showing her La Er's shoe, which he found where the Ghost Eye Race members were. Xie Jingxuan discreetly spotted her own comb, a keepsake she had given to Du Shaoyang, among the Ghost Eye Race's discarded belongings.
Realizing the grim implications, she feigned innocence, claiming to have merely dropped her comb, and urgently led Chu Li back to the inn, citing Ling Yushi’s troubles. Ling Yushi managed to temporarily suppress the Supreme Voodoo Insect's poison with her spiritual power. Xie Jingxuan arrived, informing them that Duan Qianjie was mobilizing forces to capture Ling Yushi. Qin Lie, Ling Yushi, Chu Li, and Xie Jingxuan quickly relocated to a secluded hideout.
Qin Lie showed them his collection of powerful Terminator Profound Bombs for defense, promising to gather more, enough to destroy the entire Land of Chaos if needed. Ling Yushi worried for Du Shaoyang and Song Tingyu, but also focused on her own condition.
At the inn, Li Mu, secretly grappling with the Supreme Voodoo Insect he had contracted during his encounter with Ye Yihao, declared a city-wide lockdown and ordered the imprisonment of all infected individuals, partly to conceal his own worsening state from Duan Qianjie. Duan Qianjie, meanwhile, searched for Qin Lie and Ling Yushi. Xie Jingxuan, observing the inn, was spotted by Duan Qianjie, who demanded to know Qin Lie and Ling Yushi's whereabouts.
Feigning ignorance, Xie Jingxuan used a peculiar device, a "trick invented by Master Mohai to deal with his wife," to immobilize Duan Qianjie before making her escape. Back in his room, Li Mu found himself enveloped in a dark, potent energy, a clear manifestation of the severe poison within him. Outside, Buli watched the black mist seeping from his room, deeply concerned. Qin Lie diligently cared for Ling Yushi in their peaceful refuge.
She expressed sadness over her potential loss of senses, unable to fully experience touching his face. Qin Lie affectionately promised her a wedding and reaffirmed his unwavering love, despite sensing a strange force, possibly the Soul Suppressing Orb, impeding his emotions and memories. To comfort her, Qin Lie picked a rare, blooming flower for Ling Yushi. She then pressed its scent onto him, hoping to always recognize him, even if her senses faded.
They discussed the possibility of a mole among them, ruling out Li Mu and Du Shaoyang, but were unable to identify the true culprit. Ling Yushi’s condition worsened, and she temporarily lost her hearing. Simultaneously, Qin Lie suffered another agonizing headache, experiencing visions of Li Mu on a rampage. Observing the ominous changes in the sky, Night Fairy realized Li Mu had successfully awakened, his consciousness now consumed by the Supreme Voodoo Insect's cruel influence.
Meanwhile, Du Shaoyang entered the Graveyard of Gods, following Xie Jingxuan's marks, and they met at a tavern as if by agreement. Du Shaoyang calmly inquired about Qin Lie and the others' whereabouts. However, Xie Jingxuan presented him with a Ghost Eye Race shoe and the comb she had given him. Seeing her suspicious gaze, Du Shaoyang feigned innocence, accused her of suspicion, and opportunistically suggested they break off their relationship.
This made Xie Jingxuan feel guilty, and she embraced him tightly. Li Mu, fully overtaken by the Supreme Voodoo Insect, unleashed a deadly rampage in the jail. Buli intervened, regretfully using her "Eye of Frost" power to encase him in ice. She then sought out Qin Lie and Chu Li, revealing her identity as the legendary Master of Frost.
Buli explained that Li Mu's rampage was a deliberate setup and proposed using his life as bait to draw out the true mastermind. Duan Qianjie, arriving to quell Li Mu's rampage, confronted Qin Lie, who feigned an intent to kill Li Mu. This provoked Duan Qianjie into a staged fight with Qin Lie. As they battled, Night Fairy, witnessing the confrontation, flew in to attack Duan Qianjie.
Qin Lie, utilizing his lightning powers, counterattacked, and he and Duan Qianjie worked together to finally subdue her. Night Fairy, now captured, accused them of conspiring against her, to which Qin Lie calmly explained it was the only way to make her reveal herself.
With Night Fairy subdued, Qin Lie pressed her for answers, revealing his deductions: her attempts to kill him in illusions, her calling him "Wuchun," and the similar hatred displayed by both Night Fairy and Song Tingyu at the Graveyard of Gods, all pointed to them being the same entity. Night Fairy confirmed that she had used "half of her divine sense" to create the persona of Song Tingyu.
She recounted how ten thousand years ago, half of her consciousness followed Gong Mulie, witnessing his suffering for Ling Yushi and his subsequent sealing by Gongmu Shan. Powerless to save him, she had guarded him for millennia. Upon his awakening, she assumed the form of Song Tingyu, aligning with the Profound Heaven Alliance on the Scarlet Tide Continent to continue protecting him. However, despite her millennia of devotion, Qin Lie still harbored feelings for Ling Yushi. Enraged by this, Night Fairy defiantly declared her refusal to cure Ling Yushi of the Supreme Voodoo Insect's poison, stating she would only "do that after she dies."
