Mu Chen, witnessing his friends collapse, resolved to use his strength to save them. As Qingshan, possessed by Jiuyou, continued to threaten everyone, Luo Li arrived.
Qingshan, noticing Luo Li's Luo God Clan bloodline, deemed her ideal for his hatching. Luo Li urged Mu Chen to flee, as the Jiuyou Bird egg was about to hatch, but Mu Chen, determined, refused to run this time. Later, Mu Chen told Luo Li about the deal, explaining that Jiuyou could now leave his consciousness and that the Spirit Blood would allow Luo Li to become a Saintess. Luo Li, who had been planning to leave the next day due to her inability to obtain the Spirit Blood, was relieved and thanked him, acknowledging that she could now stay.
She still cautioned him to be careful, fearing that Jiuyou might still try to consume his consciousness, but Mu Chen reassured her of his desire for her to succeed. Mu Chen informed his father of his unwavering decision to participate in the Five Great Academies assessment, explaining that he no longer wanted to hide behind others and needed to build his own strength.
