Mu Chen regained consciousness, discovering that the Evil Eye on him had been destroyed. Jiuyou scolded him for his recklessness, worried about what would happen to her if he died. Mu Chen apologized. Qin Tian expressed his admiration for Mu Chen's self-sacrifice for the Great Thousand World. Shen Cangsheng raised concerns about how to rescue Luo Li, as the Tailing Ancient Clan had already fallen.

Mu Chen instructed Shen Cangsheng and Sun’er to bolster North Sect's defenses, warning that Evil Deity's power had significantly grown and an attack could come at any moment. He assigned Qingshan the patrol duty and sent Qin Tian back to Heaven Palace to guard against the Tuling Guards' potential return. Mu Chen then announced his intention to infiltrate the Tailing Ancient Clan to gather information and find a way to save Luo Li using the Heavenly Sword.

Shen Cangsheng expressed concern, warning that Luo Li was no longer herself. Mu Chen explained that Luo Li, possessing the bloodlines of both the Tailing Ancient Clan and the Luo God Clan, was crucial to Evil Deity's power, and since the Heavenly Sword could destroy the Evil Eye, he had to try. Jiuyou strongly opposed him going alone, fearing for his safety and insisting she would accompany him, arguing that her life was tied to his anyway.

Mu Chen ultimately agreed. He also urged Shen Cangsheng and Qingshan to redouble their efforts in cultivating the true heritage of Yan Emperor and Martial Ancestor, entrusting Sun’er with the responsibility of North Sect in his absence. Meanwhile, a heavily pregnant Qian'er visited Mu Chen, having heard of his self-harm with the Heavenly Sword.

She questioned his fear during the act, to which he admitted being afraid, but emphasized that being controlled by the Eye of Void was a fate worse than death. She then speculated if Liu Mubai had felt similar emotions when he severed his arm to save her. Mu Chen confirmed that Liu Mubai's feelings for Qian'er were genuine.

Qian'er, envious that Mu Chen could save his beloved, accepted medicine from Sun’er, dismissing the importance of recovering her spiritual power, stating her sole focus was her unborn child. She pondered whether all members of the Evilness Clan were destined for a bad end, but Sun’er grimly suggested that if Evil Deity triumphed, the Evilness Clan would be the ones laughing.

Deeply conflicted about Liu Mubai, who had saved her and was the father of her child, yet was also part of the Evilness Clan, Qian'er penned a letter to him and decided to leave North Sect to find him. Mu Chen and Jiuyou covertly entered the Tailing Ancient Clan, only to discover it entirely overrun by the Tuling Guards. Jiuyou reassured Mu Chen that Evil Deity would not harm Luo Li, as he intended to use her.

They split up to search for her. Luo Li was soon summoned by Evil Deity. Mu Chen attempted to strike Luo Li's Evil Eye with the Heavenly Sword, but she fiercely retaliated. At the same time, Wen Qingxuan ambushed and captured Jiuyou, intending to present her to Evil Deity.

After Jiuyou was briefly released from her cage and tried to attack Evil Deity with her Undying Fire to no effect, Wen Qingxuan explained to Evil Deity that the refined Phoenix bloodline was immensely beneficial to him, but it was protected by the Undying Fire.

Evil Deity revealed that the Heaven River water from the Ancient Heaven Palace could extinguish the Undying Fire and instructed Wen Qingxuan to douse Jiuyou with it every half hour for seven days to refine her. Wen Qingxuan then ordered the guards to continuously douse Jiuyou with water and departed to retrieve the Heaven River water. Trapped, Jiuyou managed to send a feather-borne message to Mu Chen: "I've been captured.

Evil Deity is overwhelmingly powerful; any frontal assault will be suicidal. I am safe for seven days. Return to North Sect immediately to strategize." Upon receiving the message, Mu Chen returned to North Sect and relayed the dire situation to his companions: Jiuyou's capture, Luo Li's control by Evil Deity, and the Tailing Ancient Clan transformed into Evil Deity's headquarters.

He warned that Evil Deity, having absorbed spiritual energy and engraved his name on the Firmament Rank, possessed unprecedented power and would not be satisfied with merely conquering the Tailing Ancient Clan. He predicted a broader assault by the Tuling Guards that would devastate the world. Until an effective countermeasure was found, he advised everyone to inform their allies to evacuate as a temporary measure. Meanwhile, Qian'er arrived at Liu Territory, where she tearfully reunited with Liu Mubai.

As they found solace in each other, Liu Mubai overheard townspeople discussing Evil Deity's return and the capture of Luo Li and Jiuyou. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he penned a letter to Qian'er. In it, he expressed his love and the pain of leaving, but stated he could not bear for her and their child to live under the shadow of his past, nor could he stand idly by while Evil Deity threatened the world.

He then left to join the fight. While Mu Chen and his companions pondered how to deal with Evil Deity, Liu Mubai arrived at North Sect and was confronted by Mu Chen. Mu Chen chastised him for his past betrayals, especially the murder of their revered teacher, Mr. Mo. Liu Mubai offered his life as atonement but stressed that it was not the time for it.

He revealed that Evil Deity had deciphered the secrets of the Futu Pagoda, making simple containment no longer effective. To truly defeat Evil Deity, he explained, they needed to summon the "complete" Firmament Rank and utterly erase Evil Deity's mark, as even destroying his body and soul would not prevent his eventual return otherwise. He further disclosed that Luo Li was the sole individual capable of activating the Myriad Phase Yin-Yang Array, which was essential for this endeavor.

Mu Chen understood that Qian'er must have visited Liu Mubai. Liu Mubai confirmed Qian'er's safety and her unawareness of his mission, emphasizing that his redemption was a personal quest. Mu Chen, however, told Liu Mubai he did not want him to die but rather needed his help to defeat Evil Deity. Despite Liu Mubai's concerns about being accepted by the others, Mu Chen declared that his trust in Liu Mubai was all that mattered.

Mu Chen then presented Liu Mubai to the rest of their companions, who reacted with anger and distrust, threatening him for his past deeds, including the murder of Mr. Mo. Mu Chen intervened, reminding them how Liu Mubai had sacrificed an arm to save Qian'er at the center of the Great Thousand Demon-dispelling Array, and that he was now here to atone for his sins by fighting for the Great Thousand World, urging them to give him a chance.

The group then convened to plan their attack. Mu Chen and Liu Mubai reiterated that sealing Evil Deity was no longer an option. Qin Tian suddenly recalled a long-lost legend: "Heavenly Sword slays Evil Deity," suggesting it was the crucial weapon. He added that an ancient rumor from Heaven Palace claimed Evil Deity's weakest point was his neck, and a direct strike from the Heavenly Sword could kill him.

Shen Cangsheng found the plan plausible but noted the overwhelming number of Tuling Guards. Qingshan proposed a multi-pronged diversion. Mu Chen formalized the strategy: forces from North Sect, Heaven Palace (led by Qin Tian), and the Luo God Clan (led by their chief) would split into three groups to distract the Tuling Guards, while he would directly target Evil Deity's neck. Shen Cangsheng suggested a demonstration, with Qin Tian playing Evil Deity and Sun’er playing Mu Chen.

Shen Cangsheng and Qingshan explained that they would use their Imperial Flame Thunder Sound, a technique derived from the true heritage of Yan Emperor and Martial Ancestor, to temporarily immobilize Evil Deity's five senses and actions, providing Mu Chen a brief window for his decisive strike. Mu Chen approved the plan. Back at Evil Deity's base, Wen Qingxuan reported that Mu Chen's forces were training daily, seemingly preparing for a futile last stand.

Evil Deity, expecting their imminent attack, instructed Wen Qingxuan to have Luo Li lure Mu Chen into lowering his guard if he attacked that night. He then presented Wen Qingxuan with the Evil Spirit Five Poison Thorn, a venomous family heirloom of her Mohe Ancient Clan, boasting of its power to grievously wound even the Heaven Emperor.

Wen Qingxuan then taunted Jiuyou with the thorn, detailing its deadly poison and proclaiming that both Mu Chen and eventually Luo Li would fall to it, joining her in death. Mu Chen led his allies into battle. The forces split as planned, with Qin Tian leading the Heaven Palace soldiers in a frontal assault, the Luo Clan attacking from the left flank, and Shen Cangsheng leading the North Sect soldiers from the right.

Sun’er remained behind with the students to tend to the wounded. Mu Chen sensed Jiuyou's presence. Qin Tian suggested that Mu Chen and Liu Mubai, being a formidable pair, should focus on rescuing Jiuyou, while he and Qingshan held off Evil Deity. Liu Mubai, however, insisted on going to rescue Jiuyou, arguing that his identity offered better cover for infiltration, and urged Mu Chen to prioritize saving Luo Li.

Mu Chen agreed, cautioning Liu Mubai to be careful and reminding him of Qian'er. Liu Mubai returned the warning. Liu Mubai engaged Wen Qingxuan, who mocked him, but he managed to release Jiuyou from her cage, telling her to find Mu Chen while he continued to fight Wen Qingxuan. Jiuyou found Mu Chen but collapsed from weakness. Sun’er, who had arrived out of concern, quickly took Jiuyou into her care, learning she was injured by Heaven River water.

Mu Chen left Jiuyou with Sun’er and went to find Luo Li. He found Luo Li, who had earlier lured him by confirming she was setting off fireworks. He desperately tried to make her remember their shared past: training in a secret realm, meeting Jiuyou in the Northern Spirit Field, and a memory of him losing her Jiezi Coin. However, Luo Li, still under Evil Deity's control, insisted she remembered nothing and attacked him.

As Wen Qingxuan lunged at Mu Chen with the Evil Spirit Five Poison Thorn, Liu Mubai bravely intercepted the attack, taking the poisonous stab himself. Liu Mubai collapsed, and Mu Chen rushed to him, attempting to heal his wound. Liu Mubai, however, urged Mu Chen not to waste his spiritual power, saying it was useless, but Mu Chen refused to let him die.
