Wen Qingxuan, disguised as Mu Ling, launched an attack on Jiu You, intending to seize her power pulse, believing this would also lead to Mu Chen's eventual demise. She taunted Jiu You, stating that killing her would eventually lead to Mu Chen's death. Bai Tong courageously intervened to protect Jiu You but was severely wounded, his spiritual power significantly diminished.

Shen Cangsheng arrived, quickly discerning that the person masquerading as Mu Ling possessed an unnatural strength that the real Mu Ling would not have. Confronted, Wen Qingxuan revealed her true identity and swiftly fled before Shen Cangsheng could apprehend her. Shen Cangsheng tended to Bai Tong's injuries, noting the serious damage to his spirit pulse, and instructed Jiu You to care for him while he sought further aid.

As Bai Tong recuperated, he confessed his deep feelings for Jiu You, asserting that he was no less capable than Mu Chen, despite knowing her heart still belonged to Mu Chen. Jiu You, after denying thoughts of Mu Chen, gently promised to consider his affections. Mu Chen gradually awoke on the desolate beach, meticulously wrapping the Great Sumeru Devil Pillar with a handkerchief to prevent its immense power from harming him again.

Upon returning to the academy, he was devastated to learn of Mu Ling's death, along with Headmaster Ling Xi, City Lord Bai, and White Dragon Sovereign. Overwhelmed with guilt, he believed their sacrifices were a direct result of his actions and solemnly vowed to avenge them all by slaying Evil Deity. Evil Deity, displeased with Wen Qingxuan's latest failure, cut short her excuses, which blamed Mu Chen's absence from the academy.

He commanded her to investigate a powerful spiritual energy surge in White Horse City that also contained traces of the Power of Whisper, a phenomenon that greatly intrigued him. Wen Qingxuan accepted her new assignment. Meanwhile, Tang Qian'er passionately expressed her desire to remain with Liu Mubai, convinced he wouldn't return to Tang Territory due to his father's previous conflict with her own.

Though Liu Mubai initially urged her to return home for recovery, Qian'er insisted her only wish was to be by his side. She proposed they live a simple, undisturbed life in the abandoned Liu Territory. Liu Mubai, deeply moved, agreed. The sight of the dilapidated Liu Territory stirred painful memories for Liu Mubai. That night, despite his weakened state, Qian'er insisted he sleep indoors to recuperate, rejecting his offer to sleep outside.

Believing Qian'er was asleep, Liu Mubai lamented her sacrifices, regretting that she, a respected Young Lady of Tang Territory, had foregone her privileged life to be with him, who had lost everything. Qian'er, listening with tears in her eyes, silently reaffirmed her unwavering love. The next day, Qian'er ventured out to sell herbs for spirit stones.

Unbeknownst to her, her father, the Lord of Tang Territory, had covertly arranged for a merchant to regularly purchase her herbs every three days, ensuring her well-being. Upon her return, Qian'er was delighted to find Liu Mubai had prepared a meal. Although his cooking was unpalatable, they shared a lighthearted moment, pledging to learn cooking together, with Liu Mubai promising to prepare meals for her for the rest of his life.

Back at the academy, students expressed surprise at the Great Sumeru Devil Pillar's ordinary appearance, but Mu Chen quickly corrected their misconception, explaining the powerful evil force within it. He recounted his own near-death experience when attempting to control the pillar, prompting Mu Territory Lord to declare that finding a way to subdue it was their top priority. Following Shen Cangsheng's suggestion, Mu Chen, Luo Li, and Jiu You sought out the North Sea Dragon Roc in the Lei Territory.

Mu Chen explained his inability to control the pillar due to the pervasive Power of Whisper. Dragon Roc offered to purify the pillar with the Lei Territory's lightning energy but warned it would take "a few hundred days" to neutralize the deeply entrenched evil. Given Evil Deity's imminent threat, Mu Chen and Luo Li expressed their inability to wait.

When Luo Li asked about alternatives, Dragon Roc reiterated the Great Sumeru Devil Pillar's irreplaceable nature, having been refined for millennia and imbued with the Dragon Clan's strongest power. Jiu You then proposed the Phoenix Heritage, the sacred object of her clan, explaining it was a magical pulse that, once absorbed, would awaken the Phoenix Blood within her, transforming her into a powerful Phoenix.

Excited by the prospect, Mu Chen initially urged them to seek it, but Dragon Roc issued a grave warning: the absorption process was incredibly dangerous and often fatal, with only a handful of Jiuyou clan members ever successfully achieving the transformation. Mu Chen, alarmed, vehemently objected to Jiu You taking such a risk, but she, confident in her unique talent and the urgency of their fight against Evil Deity, insisted on undertaking the perilous journey.

Jiu You visited the injured Bai Tong to bid him farewell, explaining her urgent mission. Bai Tong immediately became animated upon seeing Jiu You. He attempted to join her, claiming his injuries were minor, but Jiu You gently refused, insisting he stay and heal his spirit pulse. Mu Chen, observing their interaction, playfully teased Jiu You about their relationship.

Meanwhile, in White Horse City, Wen Qingxuan detected lingering traces of the Power of Whisper and discovered a cenotaph erected in Liu Mubai's honor, which she noted with a chilling smirk. Later, Mu Chen created a Rosemary Array to draw Luo Li to a secluded part of the forest. Luo Li, however, was not easily fooled by his old tricks.

She immediately sensed his intention to appease her before embarking on his journey with Jiu You to find the Phoenix Heritage, despite his earlier promise to accompany her to the Luo God Clan. Luo Li, having anticipated his request, readily agreed, acknowledging the strategic importance of Jiu You's transformation for their fight against Evil Deity.

She then revealed that Jiu You had voluntarily given her the Jiuyou Spirit Blood, which would enable her to become a Saintess upon her return to the Luo God Clan, assuring Mu Chen of her safety. Luo Li then presented Mu Chen with a jade pendant, a tangible reminder of her, promising to await his return in Luo City. Mu Chen, in turn, vowed to master new and more beautiful Rosemary Arrays for their next meeting, and they embraced.

The following day, Mu Chen and Jiu You set off for the Land of Beasts, the location of the Phoenix Heritage. Mu Chen's father, Mu Territory Lord, cautioned him to be careful and avoid impulsiveness. Shen Cangsheng, though eager to help, remained at the academy due to his duties as Headmaster, while Mu Territory Lord and Mr. Mo planned to return to the Mu Territory to continue work on the Great Thousand Devil-dissipating Array.

Hidden, Bai Tong watched Jiu You depart. Soon after, Luo Li and Xuantong also began their journey back to the Luo God Clan, with Luo Li carrying the precious Jiuyou Spirit Blood for her grandfather. Upon arriving at the Luo God Clan, Luo Li was met with mixed reactions.

While some welcomed her, others, including Xuantong, questioned her return, believing that offering her to the Xue God Clan would ensure peace and that the Patriarch was prioritizing his granddaughter over the clan's safety. Luo Li reunited with her grandfather, the Patriarch, who expressed his concern over her unexpected return and apparent weight loss.

Luo Li, however, asserted her maturity and unwavering commitment as the Goddess of Luo God Clan, stating she could not stand idly by while her clan suffered. She explained that merely avoiding conflict was not a solution and that facing danger head-on was the only true path. She then presented her grandfather with the Jiuyou Spirit Blood, which she had successfully acquired.

Though acknowledging the difficulty of the Luo Offering trial, Luo Li declared her readiness to undertake it for her people. Her grandfather informed her of the precarious truce with the Xue God Clan, cautioning that war could erupt at any moment, exacerbated by their dwindling forces and numerous wounded. Soon after, Elders Luo Tianlong, Luo Qingya, and Luo Xiu arrived, seemingly aware of Luo Li's return.

They immediately confronted the Patriarch, accusing him of prioritizing his granddaughter's happiness over the clan's safety by refusing to marry her to Xue Lingzi. The Patriarch countered that such a sacrifice would be an act of surrender, not reconciliation, leading only to intensified oppression and the eventual downfall of their clan. He blamed the elders' cowardice for the clan's current decline.

At this critical juncture, Luo Li re-entered and offered to marry Xue Lingzi, but on one condition: the Luo Offering trial must be held immediately. She vowed that if she failed to pass, she would willingly marry Xue Lingzi without regret. When the elders raised concerns about the trial's inherent dangers, Luo Li assured them that with the Jiuyou Spirit Blood, she would not lose her life even if she failed.

She then revealed that she had personally overheard Xue Lingzi's henchman, Xueshi, plotting to attack the Luo God Clan immediately after her marriage, exposing the deception. Luo Li passionately argued that only a Saintess could truly save their clan, and that a public, successful Luo Offering was the only way to unite their internally divided people, whose disunity was a greater threat than the Xue God Clan itself.

Convinced by her resolve, Luo Qingya agreed to her terms, pledging unconditional loyalty if she succeeded, but holding her to her promise of marriage if she failed. After the elders departed, the Patriarch, while proud of Luo Li's newfound maturity, gently chided her for her impulsiveness, revealing his initial plan to have her undergo the trial secretly to avoid such high stakes. Luo Li reaffirmed her conviction that only a public and successful trial could truly rally the clan's morale and resolve their crisis.
