The Demon Hunter's Romance Episode 32 Recap
> The Demon Hunter's Romance Recap
Back then, Jiu Xuanye's father saved the injured Jiu Xuanye in the underground city. At the time, Jiu Xuanye was severely wounded and was brought to Shen Tunan for treatment. Later, Shen Tunan taught him magic arts and discovered that Jiu Xuanye had exceptional talent, perfectly suited for learning demon hunting. He loved Jiu Xuanye even more than his own biological son.
However, the first time he took Jiu Xuanye on a demon-hunting mission, he used the Faceless Water and saw Jiu Xuanye’s true form. Though he struggled and was conflicted, love ultimately triumphed over everything, and he used the Immutable Ring to conceal Jiu Xuanye’s identity. After explaining everything, Shen Tunan solemnly asked Jiu Xuanye to carefully consider whether he wanted to be a human or a demon. Duan Banxia arrived at the underground city with Sima Lingying and Chu Youhuang.
As soon as they reached the entrance, Lü Chunmian was already waiting and brought them to Shen Tunan’s residence, where they met Jiu Xuanye. Jiu Xuanye, upon seeing Duan Banxia, hugged her excitedly and asked whether she had been mistreated. Sima Lingying and Chu Youhuang even brought along Chi Xue’s corpse for Jiu Xuanye and showed no concern at all over his identity.
Shen Tunan had been instructing Lü Chunmian to gather information on Zi Kong, with orders to capture him if possible, or kill him if not. Lü Chunmian was also curious—why hadn’t the realm gate, which opens only once every twelve years, activated, and yet the black leopard demon had emerged? Shen Tunan explained that the Xuan Leopard clan guards the realm gate through generations and might have a special method to come out.
Still, he found it strange that only one came through, perhaps still under some kind of restriction. Jiu Xuanye looked at Chi Xue with sorrow and guilt, regretting that he had never bought his adopted son any new clothes. He had noticed Chi Xue's pants were torn and wanted to get him a new pair, but before he could, Chi Xue died. Duan Banxia comforted Jiu Xuanye not to grieve too much.
She believed if their roles had been reversed, Jiu Xuanye would have risked his life to protect Chi Xue as well. Jiu Xuanye was curious when Duan Banxia realized he was a demon. Duan Banxia truthfully replied that she found out while in the underground city but didn’t dare to confront the matter, fearing he would avoid her. Jiu Xuanye didn’t blame her but found it laughable that he used to hunt demons, only to now be one himself.
Duan Banxia insisted that whether human or demon, Jiu Xuanye was kind, always protecting the people. No matter what he was, he was still the Jiu Xuanye she loved. Jiu Xuanye tried to get Duan Banxia to leave, afraid of hurting her, but she had made up her mind—no matter where he went, she would follow, even if she had to become a beggar to find him. Jiu Xuanye was moved and held Duan Banxia tightly.
Sima Lingying and Chu Youhuang checked into an inn. Sima Lingying confided to Chu Youhuang her suspicion that Shen Tunan was not a good person. Chu Youhuang mocked her, saying she always prided herself on judging people well. Sima Lingying didn’t bother arguing further. Jiu Xuanye asked Duan Banxia how she had entered the Wuyou Realm back then.
Duan Banxia said she didn’t know how—she had been brought to the underground city by human traffickers and escaped at the first chance, running nonstop until she found herself in the Wuyou Realm. Later, she fell off a cliff and, after regaining consciousness, was found by her parents. After parting with Duan Banxia back then, Jiu Xuanye had fallen into a river, where his father revived him. He likely reached the underground city through Wuyou Crossing.
Jiu Xuanye remembered his father's words: no matter what, he must never become a wicked person. Duan Banxia blamed herself for dragging Jiu Xuanye into the underground city and making him suffer all this. Jiu Xuanye said he couldn't have lived in the dark forever—he had the right to know. Then, Jiu Xuanye suddenly declared he would no longer leave Duan Banxia, fearing she really would wander the world looking for him as a beggar.
Duan Banxia burst into tears and clung to him. Jiu Xuanye promised that no matter what plans he made, he would include her. Late at night, Jiu Xuanye went to find Chu Youhuang, and the next day, the two captured Xue Qiao and Jiang Shangyun, blaming them for Chi Xue’s death. But as demon hunters, killing Chi Xue was part of their duty. Still, Jiang Shangyun had indiscriminately hunted demons without distinction.
Jiu Xuanye crippled their powers as punishment but spared their lives and let them go. Jiang Shangyun realized Jiu Xuanye wasn’t chasing them and swore to one day kill him. But now that he knew Shen Tunan was rich and powerful, he admitted he couldn’t beat him. At that moment, Lü Chunmian appeared and killed them both on the spot. He then reported to Shen Tunan, who mocked Jiu Xuanye’s father for raising a demon to become a saint.
Just then, the servants brought in Song Qi. Song Qi was originally a demon and thought Shen Tunan had called him for something important. Unexpectedly, Shen Tunan simply threw him into a large pool, where he instantly dissolved into water. Lü Chunmian praised Shen Tunan for being close to achieving his great goal, and Shen Tunan smugly admitted they were just one demon short of success. Jiu Xuanye and Duan Banxia went to bid farewell to Shen Tunan.
Shen Tunan tried to persuade them to stay, but Jiu Xuanye was determined to leave. Since Chu Youhuang was still living there, Shen Tunan couldn’t act against them and had no choice but to let them go. However, he ordered his subordinates to continue searching for the leopard demon Zi Kong. Jiu Xuanye and Duan Banxia buried Chi Xue together. Zi Kong came again to persuade Jiu Xuanye to leave with him.
Jiu Xuanye, enraged by Zi Kong’s role in Chi Xue’s death, fought him once more. Zi Kong, disappointed in his younger brother, decided to leave Jiu Xuanye alone. Sima Lingying and Chu Youhuang helped Jiu Xuanye and Duan Banxia find a mountain house and helped them settle in.
Sima Lingying sat leisurely, watching Chu Youhuang busy himself, and joked that if they ever got married, since Chu Youhuang's rank and income were both lower, he would have to do more housework.
