Just as Ye Qi and the others were about to leave for the comic exhibition, Gu Zhengxing showed up and said he couldn’t go. Lu Dao was surprised. Gu Zhengxing explained that he was waiting for the gifts to arrive and would go once they did. Everyone believed him, but as they were leaving, Gu Zhengxing leaned in and whispered to Ye Qi that everything was going according to plan.
Jiang Ruosong had just finished a basketball game but was distracted the entire time. His classmates thought he was thinking about Zhou Jieyue, but Jiang Ruosong insisted otherwise. At that moment, two girls from the music club were struggling with heavy luggage. To prove himself, Jiang Ruosong offered to help, but the girls—who knew Zhou Jieyue—mistook his actions as cheating on her and labeled him a player.
Representatives from the comic exhibition came to pick up the team and initially assumed Zuo Qiandai was the author. It was only after introductions that they realized Ye Qi was the actual creator. Due to the number of attendees, only official authors could stay at luxury hotels, while assistants had to stay in more modest accommodations. After settling into her hotel, Zuo Qiandai sent Ye Qi a video and found his hotel conditions were about the same.
As they were talking, there was a knock on her door—Ye Qi was standing outside. The group went to a street stall for barbecue. The next day, they went to a lake. At the most romantic moment, Ye Qi gathered his courage to confess to Zuo Qiandai, but was interrupted by Chai Ziyu. Frustrated by constant interruptions, Ye Qi decided to buy two charms from a roadside vendor that supposedly prevented interruptions during confessions.
Chai Ziyu thought the charms were silly, but the girls loved them—especially Zuo Qiandai. Just as everyone was enjoying themselves, the comic exhibition team notified Ye Qi that he was needed at a networking event. Jiang Ruosong was still down because of Zhou Jieyue. Though Chai Ziyu advised him not to be the first to apologize, he didn’t know what to do. Gu Zhengxing noticed Jiang Ruosong’s gloominess and tried to cheer him up.
Zuo Qiandai, meanwhile, climbed a tree but got scared and couldn’t come down. She tried calling Ye Qi, but he was busy at the event, so she called Chai Ziyu. He tried to share his own “stuck in a tree” experience, but Zuo Qiandai accidentally dropped her phone. Jiang Ruosong remained distracted even while playing basketball, leading to frequent turnovers. His teammates noticed something was off and let him leave early.
Ye Qi found the spot where Zuo Qiandai had gone to sketch and saw her stuck in a tree. He stood below and told her to jump into his arms. She fell right on top of him. The two stared at each other, flustered and excited. Zuo Qiandai tried to speak to ease the awkwardness, but Ye Qi suddenly hugged her. They quickly separated but were both very happy inside.
Lu Dao, following Gu Zhengxing’s instructions, went looking for the tree he had described and even sent him a photo. On the way back to the hotel, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai didn’t know what to say, and the atmosphere turned quiet. But both were thrilled. When an accident happened on the road, Ye Qi instinctively grabbed Zuo Qiandai’s hand to protect her. She didn’t pull away and simply followed quietly.
