The girls chatted about boys while playing games. Lu Dao discovered Gu Zhengxing had a thing for cross-dressing when she found a shoujo manga with detailed notes in his dorm. Zuo Qiandai explained that Gu Zhengxing was only helping Ye Qi with his manga and that it had nothing to do with cross-dressing.
Lu Dao realized she might have misunderstood and wanted to apologize but didn’t know how, so she sent Gu Zhengxing a message asking what kind of underwear he liked, which made him furious. As they lay in bed getting ready to sleep, the girls talked about sexy swimsuits. But Lu Dao and Zhou Jieyue quickly dozed off, leaving Zuo Qiandai in the middle. She felt a sense of comfort and shared a photo of the three of them online.
Ye Qi was also getting ready to sleep but was still worried about Zuo Qiandai. When he saw the photo and her thoughts online, he suddenly got inspired, sneaked into the bathroom, and made a secret phone call to Zuo Qiandai. Half-asleep, she answered without knowing who it was. Only after hanging up did she realize it had been Ye Qi.
The next morning, Ye Qi sent Zuo Qiandai a message saying he would help her rediscover the feeling of a racing heartbeat. Zuo Qiandai was slightly excited upon reading it but worried it might be a letdown, so she brushed it off and went back to sleep. Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu discussed how to help Zuo Qiandai feel that heartbeat again and planned a special gift for her.
Zuo Qiandai was reading in the library when Ye Qi brought her the gift, startling her. Meanwhile, Jiang Ruosong was playing basketball with classmates when singing suddenly echoed. Reflexively, he fainted and fell asleep. His classmates thought he was sick and tried to call for help. At that moment, Zhou Jieyue appeared and stopped them, then picked up a marker and drew on Jiang Ruosong’s face. Jiang Ruosong went to Ye Qi for help.
He explained that lately, someone had been using the same method—singing to make him fall asleep, then drawing silly faces on him. Since it was Zhou Jieyue singing "Lorelei" that made him fall asleep, Jiang Ruosong was confused and wanted to discuss it with Ye Qi. But Ye Qi, worried that telling him Zhou Jieyue was behind it would cause a breakdown, gave a vague explanation. Nevertheless, the incident gave Ye Qi plenty of material for his manga.
Lu Dao, still helping Gu Zhengxing pick clothes, was wearing shorts that day. As she climbed up to get a dress, Gu Zhengxing happened to walk by and saw her legs from the perfect angle. They were exactly like the ones in the photo, so he got excited and rushed over. But Lu Dao fell, and Gu Zhengxing didn’t realize the legs were hers—he thought the person had already left.
During class, Zuo Qiandai was still preoccupied with Ye Qi’s “heartbeat plan. ” Because she wasn’t paying attention, she panicked when the teacher asked about homework. Ye Qi stepped in and pulled out a USB drive, saying the homework was on it. Zuo Qiandai worried he was pulling something again and refused, saying she hadn’t done the homework. Ye Qi insisted, and their back-and-forth annoyed the teacher so much that he kicked them both out.
From Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai learned that the rejection dialogue in the manga wasn’t his idea—it was added by Qian Ye. She was delighted, because that meant Ye Qi hadn’t actually rejected her. Zuo Qiandai eagerly awaited the final line of Ye Qi’s dialogue but didn’t want to admit it directly, so she asked in a roundabout way without letting him say it aloud.
