Because Zuo Qiandai hadn’t come to Ye Qi’s house to help with the inking, and Ye Qi couldn’t see her, he had to go look for her himself. Zuo Qiandai used preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam as an excuse and told Ye Qi that she would be very busy from now on and might not be able to help him with the comic anymore.
Ye Qi didn’t understand what she meant and even wished her luck with the exam, offering to be her model, which Zuo Qiandai firmly refused. Gu Zhengxing suddenly came to Ye Qi. Gu Zhengxing had been captivated by a photo of a pair of beautiful legs he found in front of the school and wanted Ye Qi’s help on how to find the person in the picture.
Meanwhile, to help the art club find a male model, Zuo Qiandai went to look for Chai Ziyu. After Ye Qi returned, he wanted to help Zuo Qiandai, so he asked senior You Li for some tips about the entrance exam, intending to give them to Zuo Qiandai. Chai Ziyu asked Ye Qi for ideas about what poses would look cool as a model. Ye Qi suggested incorporating some poses from his own action figures.
Chai Ziyu thought it was a workable idea, but since all his figures were female characters, the poses ended up looking quite odd. Chai Ziyu went to the manga club to model for the girls and changed poses according to their requests. Ye Qi also went to the manga club to give Zuo Qiandai the exam materials he had prepared. The moment she saw the materials, Zuo Qiandai was genuinely touched, though she pretended to be indifferent on the surface.
Seeing the girls drawing the model, Ye Qi became interested and stayed to join in the creation process. He finally realized that Zuo Qiandai was being cold toward him and kept thinking about what he had done to upset her. Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu, inspired by Ye Qi, sat on the steps watching the girls walk by, hoping to find the person from the photo with the beautiful legs. Coincidentally, a teacher at school also approached Gu Zhengxing.
The teacher had read a manuscript Gu Zhengxing submitted and thought it was pretty good, but said the romantic storyline between the male and female leads wasn’t detailed enough. So Gu Zhengxing added the plot about his search for the owner of the beautiful legs photo, and the teacher found it quite interesting. Back on Ye Qi’s side, he was still puzzled about why Zuo Qiandai had suddenly become so distant.
It was Chai Ziyu who came and told Ye Qi about the recent reason behind Zuo Qiandai’s gloom—Zuo Qiandai had posted a voice recording online about heartbreak, and they suspected she had gone through a breakup. Ye Qi was confused after hearing this because he had never heard about Zuo Qiandai being in a relationship. He remembered the time he was stuck in a tree and overheard Zuo Qiandai talking about liking a boy.
When Ye Qi learned that Zuo Qiandai had changed because of a breakup, he even blamed her for investing too much emotionally. After Chai Ziyu left, Ye Qi opened his drawer and stared blankly at the bottle of ink he had bought for Zuo Qiandai, feeling somewhat disappointed. The next day, Ye Qi carefully prepared a gift to encourage Zuo Qiandai and went to find her.
