The Brightest Star in the Sky Episode 4 Recap
> The Brightest Star in the Sky Recap
At the bar, Zheng Boxu learns from Yu Zirui’s friend, Binzi, that the company’s new song for him, "Love," was actually written by Yu Zirui. Convinced that Yu Zirui wants to use his fame, Zheng Boxu scoffs that he wouldn't sing such a "trashy song." Yu Zirui, who has overheard, confronts him. Binzi, having already called reporters to the scene, eggs on the fight by provoking Zheng Boxu about getting famous through his father's influence.
As the confrontation escalates into a brawl, Yang Zhenzhen arrives and rushes to intervene. She steps in front of Zheng Boxu to block a thrown bottle, injuring her arm in the process. Despite Zheng Boxu’s concern, Yang Zhenzhen remains cold toward him, upset that he hit Yu Zirui, whom she secretly admires. At the police station, the officers issue a warning, noting that both parties admitted their mistakes and that Star Entertainment agreed to cover all damages.
Binzi insists to Yu Zirui that calling reporters was necessary for them to fight back against bullying. Meanwhile, Zheng Boxu brushes off his own minor injuries, remarking to his assistant that he is used to fights. Elsewhere, Binzi suggests to Yu Zirui that Yang Zhenzhen has a romantic interest in him, which Yu Zirui quietly dismisses, only expressing concern for her injury. Soon after, Zheng Boxu’s father, Zheng Weijun, rushes to his son’s side, overly concerned about his minor injury.
He emphasizes that Zheng Boxu's body is a "precious gem" and admonishes him for resorting to violence, reminding him that problems are solved with intelligence, not fists. Zheng Boxu promises it will be the last time. Zheng Weijun also brings up Zheng Boxu’s sister, Fang Yiran, who has recently won an award for her jewelry design, wishing his son was half as responsible.
Liu Yinan, Director of Star Entertainment's Marketing Department, is under immense pressure due to the widespread negative news, sensationalized as "Idol Zheng Boxu demonstrated violence." During a department meeting, Yang Zhenzhen suggests that Zheng Boxu should apologize publicly to show honesty, but Liu Yinan angrily rejects her idea. Blaming her for the incident, he assigns her to supervise Zheng Boxu 24/7 at his home to prevent further trouble.
Meanwhile, Star Entertainment's CEO, Chen Tianhao, is distraught after several hesitant investors withdraw their offers following the scandal. His associate, Marina, reveals that her former employer, Wansheng Company, is now interested in investing, but on one condition: she becomes Star Entertainment's executive vice president. Chen Tianhao feels conflicted but knows the company needs the investment. Yang Zhenzhen arrives at Zheng Boxu’s residence with her luggage.
At the same time, Zheng Boxu is with his sister, Fang Yiran, whom he just picked up from the airport. He insists she help him rehearse a script to prove he can succeed through his own hard work. Unbeknownst to them, Yang Zhenzhen overhears their dramatic dialogue—a scene depicting a man abandoning a pregnant woman—and mistakenly believes Zheng Boxu is a real-life "scumbag." Fang Yiran quickly clarifies the misunderstanding, introducing herself as Zheng Boxu’s sister.
Before leaving, Fang Yiran playfully entrusts her brother’s care to Yang Zhenzhen. Afterward, Yang Zhenzhen criticizes Zheng Boxu’s acting, leading to another argument where she insists he was wrong to hit someone and should apologize publicly. Separately, Liu Yinan meets Yu Zirui at a bar.
He claims Star Entertainment legitimately acquired the song and was unaware of any plagiarism, then promises Yu Zirui that the company will never use the song and will prevent any other company from using it, effectively burying the music to "protect" the copyright. He further intimidates Yu Zirui by claiming Zheng Boxu was the real victim of the fight but chose not to press charges because Yu Zirui couldn't afford the damages.
Yu Zirui remains outwardly composed, but the injustice of the situation weighs heavily on him. Back at Zheng Boxu’s home, he practices piano through the night and dozes off on the sofa. In the morning, Yang Zhenzhen kindly tries to tidy his piano, accidentally re-injuring her arm. Noticing her pain, Zheng Boxu insists on taking her to the hospital, despite her protests. At the hospital, the doctor confirms a soft tissue injury.
During the examination, Zheng Boxu and Yang Zhenzhen continue to bicker. Star Entertainment's financial woes persist. Chen Tianhao learns that a crucial loan payment cannot be postponed and instructs his staff to arrange more appearances for Zheng Boxu to generate income. Shortly after, Chen Tianhao receives his medical report, revealing a diagnosis of colon cancer. He asks his doctor to keep the information confidential.
Overwhelmed, he calls Marina and agrees to the Wansheng investment and her appointment as executive vice president. Meanwhile, Yang Zhenzhen sees that Zheng Boxu is trending online again. A colleague informs her that the Marketing Department successfully spun the incident into positive publicity. Yang Zhenzhen then reads a newspaper headline proclaiming, "Zheng Boxu acts bravely to save a fan. Fights off offender courageously," and throws the paper down in frustration at the manufactured narrative.
