Xu Xinyi was chatting with her colleagues when a cluster of balloons ascended outside the office building. Her colleagues were curious, but Xu Xinyi immediately recognized that the banner on the balloons was a marriage proposal directed at her. Soon after, Gao Zifu appeared, holding a large bouquet of roses, begging for Xu Xinyi’s forgiveness.

He swore he had already dealt with their past issues, but Xu Xinyi was exhausted and told him she did not want to discuss it further. She reminded him that they had broken up and asked him to stop bothering her. She questioned how he could "deal with" an alive child. Gao Zifu persisted, but Ding Ang stepped in to help Xu Xinyi.

Gao Zifu became verbally abusive, accusing Xu Xinyi and Ding Ang of having an improper relationship behind his back. Ding Ang, infuriated, struck Gao Zifu and forcefully told him to get out and never show his face to Xu Xinyi again, calling him a jerk for causing Xu Xinyi such pain. Gao Zifu reluctantly left. Ding Ang took Xu Xinyi to an apartment she had lived in right after graduation. She was surprised to find it completely unchanged.

She realized that Ding Ang must have kept the apartment for her. Xu Xinyi, remembering her younger self, thought she was being scammed by a landlord for such a nice place and tried to call a real estate agent using Ding Ang's phone, only to discover he knew the apartment's Wi-Fi password. She then realized that Ding Ang had rented the apartment back then and sub-let it to her, making him her landlord.

Ding Ang confirmed this, stating that he had kept the place vacant all these years, hoping she would one day return. Xu Xinyi agreed to stay, insisting on paying rent, to which Ding Ang jokingly replied he was honored to be her landlord again. Later, Ding Ang accompanied Xu Xinyi for a drink by the river. Xu Xinyi, becoming emotional, confessed she was no longer the optimistic girl she once was.

She cried about her relentless efforts to establish a life and career in Shanghai over the past five years, working overnight and traveling constantly, only to feel it was all in vain, especially after meeting a "jerk" like Gao Zifu. Ding Ang tried to comfort her, but Xu Xinyi angrily told him that as a rich second-generation, he couldn't possibly understand her struggles.

She recalled discovering he was wealthy at his lavish birthday party in college, which made her feel unworthy and led her to leave him. Ding Ang acknowledged her words, admitting he might not understand everything, but assured her that her hard work would pay off. He promised to always be by her side, offering warmth and support, even if the rest of the world abandoned her.

That night, after Xu Xinyi fell asleep, Ding Ang gently kissed her on the forehead and left a USB drive in her bag with a comforting note. The next morning, Xu Xinyi found the USB. She saw a folder titled "World Famous Sights" and, recalling a past misunderstanding where she thought it contained adult content, she decided not to open it, unknowingly missing the photos of them together that Ding Ang had saved for her.

Later, Xu Xinyi ran into Jin Ran at a coffee shop, and they chatted amicably about the past. Ding Ang, who had stopped by to bring coffee to the owner, saw them laughing together from a distance but chose not to interrupt. During their conversation, Xu Xinyi urged Jin Ran to find out the real reason Yuan Lai left him years ago, while Jin Ran, in turn, advised her to seriously consider Ding Ang.

Meanwhile, at FeiTu Travel, Fei complained about the company's choice of Mountain Dai for the annual team building, deeming it unexciting. Yuan Lai, however, urged everyone to participate to foster team understanding and spirit. On the day of departure, Yuan Lai declined Jin Ran's offer of a ride to the company bus. However, her own ordered taxi never arrived, causing her to miss the bus. She reluctantly accepted a ride from Jin Ran.

Throughout the journey, Yuan Lai remained cold, largely ignoring Jin Ran's attempts at conversation or offering her water. Upon arrival at the resort, they were met with a chaotic scene. A male tourist was vehemently demanding compensation from FeiTu, explaining that his sister had been disfigured during a drifting accident on Mountain Dai.

The situation escalated when a call from the hospital reported that the injured girl had attempted suicide by cutting her wrists and was in critical condition, causing her mother to collapse. Jin Ran, identifying himself as FeiTu's Chief Operating Officer, immediately took charge. He instructed Yuan Lai to take the distraught mother to the hospital, promising to follow after gathering information.

Jin Ran then called his assistant, Wenya, tasking her with a thorough investigation into the patient's background, habits, insurance, and crucially, any violations of safety instructions before and during the accident. Wenya soon reported that a bystander had filmed the incident in the lobby and posted it online, leading to widespread negative comments about FeiTu's ethics. Yuan Lai visited the girl in the hospital, who was emotionally volatile.

Yuan Lai tried to console her, acknowledging her pain but urging her not to cause further harm to herself or her family, particularly her mother. The girl, however, was highly agitated, accusing FeiTu of ruining her life and shouting for Yuan Lai to leave. Yuan Lai retreated, letting the girl calm down. Later, Jin Ran and Yuan Lai discussed how to handle the crisis.

Yuan Lai recounted that while the facial injury was severe, the hospital staff had provided appropriate and timely treatment, and FeiTu's trip arrangements, catering, and tour guide's efforts were all in order, confirming it was a "100 percent accident." Despite this, Yuan Lai expressed deep pity for the 23-year-old girl, now disfigured and abandoned by her boyfriend, suggesting FeiTu offer "humanitarian compensation" from their annual charity fund to pacify the family and avoid negative publicity.

Jin Ran adamantly refused, stating that since the company was not at fault, they had no reason to pay. He argued that any compensation would be perceived by the public as an admission of guilt, especially in the current digital age where information spreads rapidly. He then showed Yuan Lai a video of the injured girl's brother publicly defaming FeiTu to the media, calling them a "black-hearted, irresponsible company."

Jin Ran asserted that those attempting to blackmail or scam FeiTu would not receive a single penny, and announced that FeiTu would officially sue the family for public defamation. The family reacted with outrage, but Jin Ran remained firm, ending the discussion by offering Yuan Lai a ride back to the resort. Separately, Shen Shuangshuang’s infatuation with Zhao Chengzhi became increasingly evident, though he seemed oblivious.

Shen Shuangshuang drastically changed her behavior, diligently organizing all his work, arranging client meetings, and stocking his office with his favorite snacks and temperature-controlled low-sodium mineral water. When Zhao Chengzhi finally questioned her sudden change, asking what she wanted, she boldly declared she was pursuing him. Meanwhile, Zhao Chengzhi was struggling to find suitable housing, unaware that Shen Shuangshuang had bribed real estate agents to withhold available properties from him.

Taking advantage of his low spirits, Shen Shuangshuang, using information she got from Yuan Lai, took him on a fast drive to his favorite trampoline park, a place he enjoyed to relieve stress. Back at FeiTu, the company prepared for its team-building outdoor "team battle." Employees were divided into departments, forming two main teams led by Jin Ran and Ji Aoting. Both leaders appeared confident and competitive, ready to vie for the prize for the winning team.

The rules were simple: a one-hour paintball match where players were eliminated if hit by a colored pellet, and the team with the most surviving members would be declared the winner, with a reminder to prioritize safety and sportsmanship.
