Lei Yuzheng revealed he had communicated with Lin Xiangyuan about the costs, and Lin Xiangyuan had assured him the workers were fine with it, making Lin Xiangyuan's current stance contradictory. Lei Yuzheng then announced the resolution: the company would pay discretionary placement fees for older workers, and offer jobs at the Entertainment Center to the young and able-bodied once it was completed. Zou Siqi, pitying Du Xiaosu's long hours, informed her via phone call she couldn't keep her company because He Qunfei had asked her out shopping for a New Year's gift. She started to cry, lamenting her bad luck and the added financial burden of car repairs, especially when she was trying to earn enough money to get "that house"—the one Shao Zhenrong had left her.
