Unfamiliar with Lei Yuzheng, Du Xiaosu secretly photographed them as they left. She thought to herself, "Who is this guy next to her? Who on earth is he?" Later, Du Xiaosu excitedly shared her "breaking news" with Shao Zhenrong.
She recounted seeing Xu You looking very close with a man and believed he must be her secret boyfriend, showing him the photos. Shao Zhenrong recognized Lei Yuzheng, Junior President Lei of Yutian, but downplayed their relationship, stating they were probably not a couple. Du Xiaosu disagreed, pointing out their apparent intimacy and suggesting it was why Yan Jingjing had been replaced.
She felt Lei Yuzheng was going too far and declared she would "do something big" to help the weak and seek justice for Yan Jingjing, despite Shao Zhenrong's warning that the entertainment industry was too complex for her to understand. Outside the room, Lei Yuzheng explained to Shao Zhenrong that despite his initial reluctance, he felt a responsibility to do something for his family, acknowledging that life sometimes involved compromise. He instructed He Qunfei to contact lawyers and sue Du Xiaosu for defamation, explicitly stating he would not accept an out-of-court settlement and wanted to see her in court. He Qunfei found Du Xiaosu and relayed Lei Yuzheng's decision, criticizing her for provoking him. Du Xiaosu, furious, lashed out at Lei Yuzheng, calling him unreasonable. She insisted she was only seeking justice for Yan Jingjing, who Lei Yuzheng had wronged.
He Qunfei then revealed the truth: Yan Jingjing had conspired with senior management to manipulate a contract for financial gain, which was why Lei Yuzheng removed her from the role. This revelation left Du Xiaosu stunned. Du Xiaosu went to the hospital to confront Yan Jingjing. Outside her room, she overheard Yan Jingjing and her assistant discussing how their "risky move" to pressure Lei Yuzheng had backfired, but Du Xiaosu's photo scandal had inadvertently helped their cause.
Enraged, Du Xiaosu stormed in and confronted Yan Jingjing, who retorted sharply before leaving with her assistant. That evening, Du Xiaosu waited for hours to apologize to Lei Yuzheng. She acknowledged her mistake in misunderstanding him and admitted she had been naive and taken advantage of by Yan Jingjing. Lei Yuzheng, however, was dismissive, accusing her of only apologizing out of fear of the lawsuit and calling her overconfident. Du Xiaosu, frustrated, called him "unreasonable." Lei Yuzheng immediately suspected Du Xiaosu was special to Shao Zhenrong, noting his quick efforts to help her. Shortly after, Du Xiaosu received an offer from Boyuan for an internship, thrilling her, though she was unaware of Shao Zhenrong's intervention. At her new company, Mr. Ning praised her design works, explaining that Boyuan valued aspiration and ability over experience or academic background, which pleased Du Xiaosu. The same day, Jiang Fanlv arrived at Yutian to see Lei Yuzheng, but the new front desk staff insisted she follow visitor registration procedures.
Jiang Fanlv, annoyed, asserted her status as Jiang Jin's daughter and a friend of Lei Yuzheng. Lin Xiangyuan quickly intervened, easing the situation and escorting her upstairs. Meanwhile, Jiang Jin, at the golf course with Lin Xiangyuan, confidently discussed how Lei Ting's agreement secured their project for Yutian, believing Lei Yuzheng, despite his competence, would not dare disobey his father.
