Tears In Heaven Episode 1 Recap
> Tears In Heaven Recap
Du Xiaosu was abruptly woken by her friend, Zou Siqi, who informed her that their boss, Mr. Mo, was on the phone. Mr. Mo sternly reminded a groggy Du Xiaosu that today was her crucial interview with actress Yan Jingjing. He castigated her for her unpunctuality, noting that Yan Jingjing's flight was due to arrive in 20 minutes. He then warned Du Xiaosu that if she failed to reach the airport by 9:45, he would prepare her resignation letter.
Du Xiaosu, promising good news, quickly agreed and urged Zou Siqi to drive her to the airport. During their drive, Du Xiaosu confessed her fear of losing her job and having Zou Siqi become her sole breadwinner, to which Zou Siqi teased her for not acting like a lady. Meanwhile, Lei Yuzheng and Shao Zhenrong were engaged in their morning routine.
As Lei Yuzheng drove and Shao Zhenrong rode his motorcycle, Shao Zhenrong questioned Lei Yuzheng about his early rising habits. Lei Yuzheng replied by asking if Shao Zhenrong had ever witnessed the sunrise over the Bund at 4:00 AM, stating he saw it every single day. He revealed that he worked tirelessly not for money, but to prove his own identity.
Later, during a fencing match, Lei Yuzheng critiqued Shao Zhenrong's hasty attack and careless defense, which led to his loss. Lei Yuzheng then probed whether Shao Zhenrong's mother, Aunt Shao, was once again forcing him into blind dates. Shao Zhenrong recounted a recent bewildering experience where his date immediately asked about marriage and marriage certificates, which left him utterly shocked. Lei Yuzheng remarked on Shao Zhenrong's attractiveness but lamented his high standards.
Shao Zhenrong countered that he prioritized quality over quantity, implying Lei Yuzheng had the opposite approach. Before parting ways, Lei Yuzheng offered Shao Zhenrong a new T-shirt, which Shao Zhenrong accepted, though he noted he rarely got to wear such clothes due to his uniform. Shao Zhenrong wished Lei Yuzheng a safe trip to Beijing. At the airport, Du Xiaosu arrived to find fellow reporter Mr. Bi already securing a prime spot.
Mr. Mo called her again, instructing her to avoid Mr. Bi and revealing insider information that Yan Jingjing would be exiting through the staff entrance. He reiterated his threat of dismissal if she failed to secure the interview. Du Xiaosu reassured him, promising success. She rushed towards the staff exit, camera in hand, and accidentally collided with Lei Yuzheng. She quickly apologized, but Lei Yuzheng, concerned, asked if she was alright.
Du Xiaosu, startled by his voice, quickly fled, leaving Lei Yuzheng momentarily lost in thought, remembering a girl he had once rescued on a rainy night. Du Xiaosu reached the parking lot just as Yan Jingjing's car was leaving. She jumped into Zou Siqi's car, only to be joined by the persistent Mr. Bi. Despite the rivalry, Du Xiaosu urged Zou Siqi to chase Yan Jingjing's vehicle.
Yan Jingjing’s driver noticed the pursuit and sped up, causing Zou Siqi to exclaim about the dangerous speeds. Shortly after, Lei Yuzheng received an urgent call informing him that his father, the chairman, was in danger. He rushed to the hospital, where he saw his father lying unconscious and was flooded with memories of their past arguments.
Shao Zhenrong met him, assuring him that his father had been saved, though his recovery was uncertain due to his age and the nature of his illness. Lei Yuzheng’s assistant then informed him that Yan Jingjing had been involved in a car accident on her way from the airport. Shao Zhenrong was called away by the director to attend to Yan Jingjing.
Reporters swarmed the hospital as Yan Jingjing was admitted to the ICU, and Shao Zhenrong took charge of her surgery. Meanwhile, Du Xiaosu woke up in the emergency room. Mr. Mo called, angrily scolding her for failing the interview and getting into an accident, explicitly stating her pursuit indirectly led to Yan Jingjing's crash. He hung up, still demanding she obtain the interview. Later, Shao Zhenrong returned to Du Xiaosu’s bed to find it empty.
The board meeting for Yutian Group was in disarray, with members debating whether to cancel the film "Demon Slayer" due to Yan Jingjing's car accident and the chairman's hospitalization. Lei Yuzheng arrived, calmly announcing that he would now be in charge of Yutian's operations. He firmly declared that the film "Demon Slayer" would proceed as planned, but with a new lead actress. This decision was met with opposition from Mr. Xie, who cited Yan Jingjing's contract.
Lei Yuzheng asserted that if the actress wasn't changed, Mr. Xie would be the one facing a lawsuit. He then presented Mr. Xie with a confidential file detailing "Customer Account Transactions," the contents of which prompted Mr. Xie to immediately resign, a resignation Lei Yuzheng readily accepted. After the meeting, Lei Yuzheng looked out at the city lights, recalling his father's words about Yutian belonging to them both and needing to be protected, solidifying his resolve to safeguard the company.
Later, Du Xiaosu visited a noodle shop. Noticing Shao Zhenrong heartily enjoying his noodles, she inquired about his order and then placed an order for the same, in addition to her initial choice, claiming she was famished. Shao Zhenrong, dumbfounded, watched her eat. Mr. Mo called again, pressing her for information on Yan Jingjing's agent and emphasizing the time-sensitive nature of news. Du Xiaosu, having barely touched her food, left to continue her pursuit.
She soon realized she had left her phone behind. As she turned back, she bumped into Shao Zhenrong, who was returning it to her. Moments later, Du Xiaosu nearly stepped into the path of an oncoming car but was pulled back to safety by Shao Zhenrong. They shared a charged look, and he urged her to be more careful. Back at the hospital, reporters vied for information.
Mr. Bi distracted other reporters by shouting about an inspector, then approached Du Xiaosu, informing her that Yan Jingjing had been moved from the ICU to the third floor of the inpatient department. Du Xiaosu, suspicious of his intentions, was surprised when Mr. Bi revealed he had a nurse uniform for her, explaining his own inconvenience. Du Xiaosu then encountered Shao Zhenrong, who had just finished checking on Yan Jingjing.
Du Xiaosu recognized him from their previous encounters, but Shao Zhenrong did not appear to recognize her. Later, Du Xiaosu, disguised in the nurse's uniform, managed to enter Yan Jingjing’s room. Shao Zhenrong, realizing something was amiss, returned to the ward and found Du Xiaosu. She quickly fabricated an excuse and fled, with Shao Zhenrong giving chase, but she eluded him. Concurrently, Lei Yuzheng had begun his search for a new lead actress for "Demon Slayer."
His assistant informed him they had contacted Xu You, Lei Yuzheng's ex-girlfriend, who insisted on a personal meeting, to which Lei Yuzheng agreed. His assistant voiced concerns that Mr. Xie might inform Yan Jingjing, causing trouble, but Lei Yuzheng remained unconcerned, suggesting Yan Jingjing could do little after her collusion with Mr. Xie. Meanwhile, a rival company, upon hearing rumors of Yutian's production troubles and Lei Yuzheng's intention to replace Yan Jingjing, saw an opportunity.
Mr. Jiang, the rival executive, decided to offload a particularly challenging and problematic demolition project onto Yutian, viewing Yutian's crisis as their chance to deal with a difficult project and also hoping to find another person to help them make a deal with the Lei Family. Undeterred, Du Xiaosu made another attempt to get her story. She climbed to the third floor and, finding a window unlocked, opened it to take photos of Yan Jingjing.
Shao Zhenrong was in the room and discovered her. Du Xiaosu nearly fell but was pulled to safety by Shao Zhenrong. They landed on the floor as a nurse entered, who, misinterpreting the scene, left in distress. Shao Zhenrong, refusing to believe Du Xiaosu's flimsy explanations, pressed her repeatedly about her true identity. Du Xiaosu finally confessed to being a reporter, desperate to get a photo of Yan Jingjing. Shao Zhenrong rejected her plea for a single photo.
She then shifted her approach, asking for details about Yan Jingjing's injuries, including whether her face was disfigured or scarred. Shao Zhenrong firmly refused, stating that as a doctor, he would never disclose private patient information. Du Xiaosu, undeterred, threatened to "make things irreparable" if he continued to prevent her from taking a picture.
