Symphony's Romance Episode 35 Recap
> Symphony's Romance Recap
Fang Xiaowo successfully completed the three assignments Li Yazhe gave her. He then gave her an extended task, instructing her to practice diligently back home and send him a video of her progress, which Fang Xiaowo promised to do. Her friend Jimo expressed sadness at her departure, calling her his "soulmate," and asked if she would return to Paris, to which Fang Xiaowo replied she would if Li Zhenyan came back.
Jimo teased her, saying she was like chewing gum, impossible to shake off. Meanwhile, Fisher prepared to leave Paris for China, intending to teach a final class to the students at Baiqi. His manager, Vogry, reminded him to take care of his health and asked about Elise. Elise, though upset by Fisher's decision, understood his intentions. She asked Li Yazhe to persuade Fisher to return for surgery and treatment after he completed his task.
Vogry agreed, understanding that at this critical juncture, Fisher’s health was paramount. Fang Xiaowo quietly returned to Li Zhenyan’s home, hoping to surprise him, but he wasn't there. She felt a little disappointed. Soon after, she heard Li Zhenyan and his aunt, Gu Sheng, talking outside. Fang Xiaowo quickly hid in Li Zhenyan's room, accidentally leaving her phone in the living room. Gu Sheng noticed Fang Xiaowo's phone and immediately guessed she was back.
Gu Sheng tried to coax Fang Xiaowo out for dinner, but Li Zhenyan, wanting to spend time alone with Fang Xiaowo, politely sent his aunt away, promising to have dinner with her another time. Gu Sheng commented that Fang Xiaowo had become Li Zhenyan's "weak rib." Once the house was quiet, Fang Xiaowo peeked out from the room. Li Zhenyan, who had been hiding, then surprised her, and they embraced tightly, overjoyed to be reunited.
After Li Zhenyan cooked dinner, he inquired about Fang Xiaowo's piano studies. She recounted her progress, explaining how Ravel's "Water Play" was a gift to his teacher and how Ravel persevered despite academic setbacks, using complex harmonies and pedals to create an innovative sound. Fang Xiaowo then tried to persuade Li Zhenyan to reconcile with Li Yazhe. However, Li Zhenyan refused, explaining that some mistakes could not be mended, and the loss of his mother was irreplaceable.
He promised Fang Xiaowo a "devil's training" regimen starting the next day. Later that night, Li Zhenyan received a text from Elise about Song Ran wanting to meet to discuss their upcoming concert. He replied that he had an important engagement today but would arrange a separate meeting with Song Ran later. Elise chastised him for casually refusing Song Ran's invitation. Li Zhenyan then took Fang Xiaowo to her previous apartment.
She was delighted to find it still kept in good condition. Li Zhenyan explained that Gu Sheng had bought it, considering it a "geomantic treasure," and was allowing Fang Xiaowo to live there rent-free, on the condition that she diligently practiced the piano. Gu Sheng hoped the property would appreciate when Fang Xiaowo became a renowned pianist. The next morning, Li Zhenyan eagerly woke Fang Xiaowo for grocery shopping.
While shopping, Li Zhenyan considered telling Fang Xiaowo about his collaboration with Song Ran, but hesitated. He only mentioned that he might be busy with conducting matters in a few days. Fang Xiaowo, ever supportive, understood. Back home, Li Zhenyan began to coach Fang Xiaowo on the piano. With her boundless energy and passion for music, Fang Xiaowo made rapid progress under his guidance. Meanwhile, Yan Yan’s studio faced a severe financial crisis, on the verge of collapse.
Mr. Joe advised Yan Yan to sell the copyright of Jiang Caiwei’s songs to a company that showed interest in signing her. He argued that it would be difficult for the current studio to make Jiang Caiwei famous on its own, and further delay would only hinder her career. Jiang Caiwei overheard their conversation, leaving her with mixed emotions.
Qin Fen was preoccupied with recruiting new members for the RGroup S, but progress was slow, making him feel like a failure. Lin Qingshang comforted him, assuring him that she and even Li Zhenyan would not have done better given the circumstances of the RGroup S's disbandment, which she believed was inevitable. She affirmed his remarkable growth and encouraged him to move forward. Then, in a moment of emotional intensity, Lin Qingshang seriously proposed marriage to Qin Fen, startling him.
Qin Fen, overwhelmed, began avoiding her for several days. Lin Qingshang eventually tracked him down to his noodle shop. When Qin Fen tried to close the door on her, she patiently explained through the closed door that while her proposal might have been impulsive, she had thought it through thoroughly and was certain of her feelings for him, desiring to spend her life with him.
She even mentioned the "little confused" face mask he had once given her as a "witness to their love." Seeing Qin Fen remain unresponsive, Lin Qingshang feigned anger and started to leave. Qin Fen quickly opened the door, embraced her, and, moved by her heartfelt confession, bravely accepted her proposal, joking that "some things still need men to do."
Later, during a reunion with Fang Xiaowo, Lin Qingshang, and Chen Zheng, Qin Fen inadvertently revealed Li Zhenyan's upcoming collaboration with Song Ran. Fang Xiaowo's mood immediately plummeted. She confessed to Li Zhenyan that she always felt she was chasing his back, unable to stand beside him on stage. Back at home, she was visibly distraught, recalling Fisher’s words that she might be left behind despite her best efforts. Li Zhenyan understood her sadness.
He later sent her a text, explaining that his collaboration with Song Ran was a professional obligation as an adult, but reiterated that she was the closest person to him and expressed his deepest wish to one day perform the Schumann A minor Piano Concerto, a piece she adored, on stage with her. Fang Xiaowo attended Li Zhenyan’s performance.
Her heart ached as she watched Li Zhenyan and Song Ran walk onto the stage holding hands and then perform the Schumann A minor Piano Concerto, the very piece she had expressed a desire to play with Li Zhenyan. She felt a profound sense of sorrow and confusion, unaware that throughout the performance, Li Zhenyan’s thoughts were solely of her, even envisioning her at the piano while he conducted. Song Ran had to playfully pull him back onto the stage for an encore, as the audience eagerly awaited.
