Lu Li sought out his master, Lu Sheng, to confirm a deeply held suspicion. Lu Sheng confronted Lu Li about losing the Moon Sword and now asking for Liu Shao's salvation, questioning why he should help her. Lu Li pressed for the truth, asking if the real purpose behind being tasked to escort Liu Shao to the Mansion of Wu Yang Duke was because only she could pull out the Moon Sword. Lu Sheng confirmed this.

Lu Li then revealed his deeper understanding: that Lu Sheng prevented him from falling in love with Liu Shao because he knew she would die after extracting the sword. Lu Sheng pressed him to reveal what else he knew. Lu Li explained that the Moon Sword was the weapon of the God of the Moonlight, sealed in the mortal world by the Sun Supreme God during the Battle of Two Gods.

Since Liu Shao could break this seal and pull the sword, and her power clashed with it, the mysterious light within her body was indeed the Sun Spirit, making her the inheritor of the Sun Supreme God.

Lu Sheng then revealed Lu Li's true identity: he possessed half of the God of the Moonlight's heart, a heart that the Sun Supreme God had split into two during their epic battle, with one half suppressed under the Four Seasons Monument and the other transforming into Lu Li.

This lineage meant that Lu Li, as the shadow of the God of the Moonlight, and Liu Shao, as the inheritor of the Sun Supreme God, were destined enemies whose spiritual powers would oppose and harm each other, leading to Lu Li's eventual dissipation.

Lu Sheng admitted that he orchestrated Lu Li's mission to retrieve the Moon Sword so that Lu Li could become the complete God of the Moonlight by using the sword to break the Four Seasons Monument and reclaim his other half-heart. Lu Li questioned if Lu Sheng had always known this path would lead to Liu Shao's death, to which Lu Sheng callously replied that only Lu Li becoming the God of the Moonlight mattered.

He gave Lu Li one last chance to retrieve the Moon Sword from Liu Shao, or face his own demise. Lu Li, however, defied his master, stating he would not selfishly live if Liu Shao died because of him and offered himself for sacrifice instead, asserting that the return of the God of the Moonlight meant nothing to him if Liu Shao could not survive.

Unable to bear it, Lu Sheng eventually snatched the dagger to heal him and stop the bleeding. Meanwhile, Liu Shao was recovering at the Aquatic Demons' residence, tended to by He Na. He Na reassured her that the Moon Sword was safe, its power contained by a water energy spell to prevent further backlash from her body.

However, Liu Shao was heartbroken, questioning what Lu Li's heart was made of and how she could be less important than a sword, despite having believed his affection was genuine. He Na, sensing her turmoil, encouraged her to find her own answers within her heart, rather than dwelling on whether Lu Li's past kindness was a lie.

He Na then explained a legend about the Melody Flute: on a full moon night, its music could create a Bridge of Heart, allowing one to walk into their deepest desires and find answers by thinking of the person they most wished to see.

As Liu Shao walked the ethereal bridge, she saw reflections of her innermost conflicts, including moments of Lu Li's apparent affection that quickly turned into mockery, making her draw her sword as if to sever ties with him. She also heard a voice mocking her for being easily fooled and less valuable than the Moon Sword. Concluding her walk, Liu Shao declared her intention to sever ties with Lu Li.

She later reflected on Lu Li's past vows to protect her, still searching for the truth of his intentions, while a voice suggested that Lu Li’s half-heart was indeed filled with Liu Shao. Despite her distress, Liu Shao resolved that if Lu Li was heartless, she would let him go, needing only time to heal.

He Na, knowing his own water energy was insufficient to counter Liu Shao's Moon Sword backlash, suggested Lu Li seek the Bone-Corroding Harp of Immortal Ze Shui, which was rumored to possess powerful healing abilities. Lu Li, having vowed to love and protect Liu Shao forever, was resolute in his quest for the harp, acknowledging its vicious nature and the mortal danger of the Great Wilderness where it was hidden.

Meanwhile, Fu, the Aquatic Demon, observing He Na's weakened demon energy from treating Liu Shao, subtly tried to provoke him and later attempted to touch the Moon Sword, only to be warned off by He Na. Fu dismissed Liu Shao as a dying burden, but He Na sternly forbade him from touching either Liu Shao or the sword.

Before departing for the Great Wilderness, Lu Li entrusted He Na with a rare pill, a reward from Marquis Wuyang for obtaining the Spirit Fire, asking him to give it to Liu Shao to help her resist the backlash. Despite He Na's concern that Lu Li himself needed the pill for his perilous journey, Lu Li insisted, emphasizing his rugged nature and his need for He Na to continue looking after Liu Shao.

Lu Li then set off for the Ice Rock Lake, feeling the increasing, agonizing pain from the water energy He Na had shared, which acted as a guide to the Bone-Corroding Harp. He Na knew that every inch closer to the harp would further deplete Lu Li's vitality, demanding he be prepared to risk his life.

Unbeknownst to He Na, Fu had also secretly met with Lu Sheng, making a deal that if Fu could help Lu Sheng obtain the Moon Sword, Lu Sheng would ensure the return of the God of the Moonlight. Upon waking, Liu Shao learned from He Na that the pill that helped her recover was from Lu Li and about his perilous journey to find the Bone-Corroding Harp, enduring immense pain from the water energy to locate it.

He Na emphasized that Lu Li's sole focus had been on her well-being, not the Moon Sword. Realizing the depth of Lu Li's sacrifice, Liu Shao resolved to find him and seek clarity. He Na, using Lu Li's water energy as a guide and the power of the Posa tree, sent her directly to his location in the Great Wilderness, despite the severe risk to Liu Shao's still-healing injuries.

Lu Li, battling the Bone-Corroding Harp's attacks and enduring excruciating pain, was on the verge of collapse, his consciousness fading. In his dazed state, he saw Liu Shao approach and initially believed it to be a dream. He confessed his feelings, expressing his love and asking her to forget him if he were to die.

Liu Shao confirmed she was real and that he had just answered her unspoken questions, affirming her belief in him, and they resolved to face all future challenges together. Suddenly, the Bone-Corroding Harp created a powerful barrier between Lu Li and Liu Shao. A voice, filled with hatred and purporting to be Immortal Ze Shui's lingering spirit, began to tempt Liu Shao, accusing Lu Li of betrayal and urging her to play the harp's strings to kill him.

Liu Shao, witnessing a distorted vision of herself giving the harp to Immortal Ze Shui in the past, fought against the malevolent influence. Despite the overwhelming pressure, she steadfastly declared her unwavering trust in Lu Li and refused to harm him. With all her might, she broke the harp's strings, severing the connection to the hateful voice.

The Bone-Corroding Harp fell to the ground, and Immortal Ze Shui's residual spiritual power dissipated, rendering the harp harmless to Liu Shao and the Aquatic Demons, though its healing properties remained. Remembering the hateful voice, Liu Shao felt a mix of fear and confusion. She realized her profound love for Lu Li and expressed a desire for a simple, ordinary life with him, free from grand upheavals.

Lu Li, seeing the curse marks on his body receding back to his palm, knew his time was short. Despite this, he embraced Liu Shao tightly, agreeing to spend whatever little time they had together as a normal couple, regretting nothing. Liu Shao, affirming her ability to endure, suggested they find He Na to repair the Bone-Corroding Harp.
