Reset Episode 6 Recap
> Reset Recap
The police quickly established a special task force to investigate the explosion. Zhang Cheng laid out the work plan: they would check the social connections of the victims to see if any had enemies, and also investigate passengers who got on or off at each stop. The masked man brought Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing to a hidden room filled with anime figures and cats.
Li Shiqing casually asked why he kept cats despite having asthma, surprising him—how could a stranger know about his illness? Li Shiqing had to confess the truth about the time loop. The masked man questioned why they were in a loop now since it wasn’t August—only when 8 is turned sideways does it become the infinity symbol.
The masked man's calmness made Li Shiqing happy, but Xiao Heyun was unimpressed by his constant anime and gaming references, calling him an over-imaginative kid. The masked man was thrilled to be part of a world-saving mission and found the idea of the loop fascinating. After ruling out the masked man as a suspect, they continued investigating other passengers. Xiao Heyun drew a diagram of the bus seating.
The muscular man by the door and the livestreamer standing nearby carried no bags and seemed righteous—suspicion ruled out. The old man by the window had a torn snakeskin bag, revealing watermelons inside. A woman on the other side had a red bag at her feet with unknown contents. An old woman clutching a backpack had it filled with medicine. One remaining suspect was a man with a suitcase.
The masked man questioned why he would take a transfer bus when there were direct routes to the airport and train station. Maybe he wasn’t heading to either. Under pressure from his mother, the masked man reluctantly went home. His usually aloof cats were unusually affectionate. He coldly wondered what would happen to them in the loops where he died.
Before parting, the masked man offered his hideout to Li Shiqing and Xiao Heyun and told them that even if he wasn’t in the loop, he would believe and help them if they called his name. His name was: Lu. Apostle of Cats. Conqueror of Asthma. The Chosen One. Di. Having someone believe them warmed Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing’s hearts. They awkwardly booked a room at an internet café. Under the ambiguous lighting, Li Shiqing felt embarrassed.
Xiao Heyun pretended to stay calm and pulled her to sit, knowing that uncovering the truth behind the explosion was the real priority. Back home, Lu Di’s mother found cat hair on him and used a lint roller on his whole body. Unable to bear his parents’ control anymore, he shut himself in his room. His asthma flared up, and he had to use his inhaler several times to calm down.
Meanwhile, the police, having reviewed surveillance footage, contacted Lu Di. Lu Di got into his father’s car on the way to the police station, recalling the letter he had just written. He was grateful for his parents’ care and this world. His asthma hadn’t sealed off his heart. In fact, he had a richer inner world than most healthy children. He hoped his parents could understand his inner self.
From the police report, Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing learned that the bus driver was named Wang Xingde, a good man known for returning lost property. While watching Happy Bro’s video, they noticed a strange expression on an old man in the background. Just then, Li Shiqing received a late-night call from the police. Xiao Heyun immediately realized the explosives had been found. But would Lu Di know how to handle the police's questioning?
Lu Di calmly explained the misunderstanding about his backpack and emphasized that the two had helped him find his cat, trying to reduce police suspicion. But Zhang Cheng noticed something unusual and warned Jiang Feng to thoroughly investigate the trio’s relationship.
