Reset Episode 4 Recap
> Reset Recap
The novice Jiang Feng followed his mentor Zhang Cheng on a mission. Dressed in plain clothes, he was visibly tense, which alerted the suspect. Nervous and on edge, Jiang Feng failed to notice the suspect pulling out a knife beneath him. Zhang Cheng quickly stepped forward to grab the weapon, but his right hand was slashed, bleeding profusely. Li Shiqing woke up on the bus again as it approached the Yanjiang West Road stop.
Xiao Heyun was leaning on her shoulder, asleep and unaware. He didn’t fully wake up until Li Shiqing stood up and he hit his head. The two realized that every time they fell asleep, they would return to the loop. Xiao Heyun admitted that he didn’t trust Li Shiqing at first, but now they had to work together. They had learned from the police that there really was a bomb on the bus.
Li Shiqing shouted to the driver, trying to get him to stop, but just as she spoke, the bus exploded and veered off the road. When they woke up again, they confirmed that it was a man-made explosion. Xiao Heyun analyzed that the bomb was most likely hidden in a backpack. Passengers without backpacks and the aunt who gave Li Shiqing a medicine bag full of pills could be ruled out.
However, the man in the last row, wearing a cap and mask and holding a backpack, was no longer on the bus. The two got off at Yanjiang West Road Station. Xiao Heyun saw the masked man board the bus. Li Shiqing, standing beside him, called the police to report the bomb. Xiao Heyun slipped behind the bus stop sign, deliberately avoiding Li Shiqing, and pretended to talk on his phone, warning her to keep her distance from him.
Xiao Heyun found a remote and quiet park, deliberately avoiding surveillance cameras along the way. Li Shiqing didn’t understand his behavior, but Xiao Heyun explained that this time they had exited the bus normally. If she didn’t call the police, they would have more time to analyze the situation. But if this really was the last loop, then they had to save the remaining passengers.
However, if they called the police rashly, they wouldn't be able to assist in solving the case. Kindness isn’t just a virtue; it must be matched with capability. Xiao Heyun wanted to wait until the timeline shifted earlier, giving the police enough time to investigate before calling them. That way, they could also gather more evidence. But Li Shiqing asked him in return—if the time kept shifting earlier, would he still choose to get on the bus?
After a brief quarrel, Xiao Heyun calmed down and decided to go with Li Shiqing to see whether the police could stop the explosion. Zhang Cheng set up a blockade on the bridge, and Jiang Feng boarded the bus for inspection. He ordered all passengers off the bus, but insisted they leave their belongings. An old man refused to leave his snakeskin bag.
Jiang Feng and other officers stepped in to stop him, but during the scuffle, the bus exploded again. Li Shiqing received a call from the police and decided to be questioned alone. Xiao Heyun, still concerned, saved her number and silently watched her get into the police car from behind a statue.
His partner called, reminding him that the CEO of the investment firm had come in person to discuss his game design, and he had to show up no matter what. After one last glance at the bus explosion on the bridge, Xiao Heyun rode off on his bicycle. However, because he got off the bus with Li Shiqing, the police had already taken notice of him. Xiao Heyun was upset about being asked to remove violent elements from his game.
He gave up negotiating with the investors and, thinking about what Li Shiqing had said, began searching for information about the Route 45 bus explosion. Online, the stated cause of the accident was that the driver lit a cigarette with a lighter, which exploded and caused the bus to self-destruct. The police didn’t believe Li Shiqing’s explanation about the loop, but she was able to accurately name Zhang Cheng and Jiang Feng.
Upon hearing about Jiang Feng’s sacrifice, Li Shiqing felt deeply guilty, but still failed to gain the police’s trust. Xiao Heyun called, and Zhang Cheng, who was interrogating her, picked up. Li Shiqing quickly shouted that they had broken up and asked not to be contacted again. Xiao Heyun immediately understood her situation and gently said, “Just sleep—it’ll all be fine.
