President Yang, facing two reporters who had been waiting, had no choice but to step outside and call Wang Xingde again. What was originally a good deed of returning lost property had turned into a problem—Wang Xingde simply refused to show up. President Yang had to hold the banner himself to present Wang Xingde and deliberately stepped aside so the reporters could paste his photo into the frame.

Li Shiqing woke up first, but Xiao Heyun entered standby mode, his face filled with pain. When awakened, he looked exhausted but quickly pulled himself together. Li Shiqing had taken Wang Xingde’s bus many times and trusted him, but now learning that the driver was an accomplice left the two with no clue. Xiao Heyun decided to get off the bus first, analyze the situation, and then re-enter the loop. At 1:45, the bus exploded on the bridge.

Claiming to be student journalists, Li and Xiao went to the bus company to interview Wang Xingde and gather clues. Just as the company staff brought out Wang Xingde’s files, a colleague ran in to report the explosion. Li and Xiao seized the chance to check the files. Noticing the entry “transferred with spouse” under job changes, they guessed that Wang Xingde and Tao Yinghong were married. They went to the bus company dormitory.

Xiao Heyun intended to call a locksmith but coincidentally ran into Wang Xingde’s roommate. Posing as Wang Xingde’s nephew looking for the household register, he entered and searched for clues. Li Shiqing, pretending to be Xiao Heyun’s girlfriend, chatted with the roommate about meeting his relatives and inquired about the couple's situation. Xiao Heyun came out holding a phone with a broken screen found in Wang Xingde’s cabinet.

The roommate warned Li Shiqing to beware of Wang Xingde’s wife—she was mentally unstable. The two went to a convenience store, feeling their own investigation was limited and decided they needed to prepare a proper story for the police to get more clues. As witnesses, they arrived at the police station but offered suggestive clues in their statements, making Zhang Cheng suspicious.

He tested Xiao Heyun by asking him to mark the positions and characteristics of the bus passengers, which Xiao Heyun did without hesitation. Then Zhang Cheng handed him a blank sheet and asked him to draw a map from the police station entrance to the interrogation room. Relying on his exceptional spatial memory as a game designer, Xiao Heyun accurately sketched the layout of the station, slightly easing Zhang Cheng’s doubts.

But when it came time to identify photos of the deceased, Li Shiqing’s face suddenly became anxious and fearful. The experienced Zhang Cheng quickly recognized signs of survivor’s syndrome. Naturally, the police still needed to verify their claims, but this also gave them time to stay at the station and gather more useful information. Jiang Feng began a deep investigation into the backgrounds of Wang Xingde and Tao Yinghong.

Wang Xingde had once been a truck driver and insisted on driving the No. 45 bus after moving to Jialin City four years ago, repeatedly rejecting promotions. Tao Yinghong had been a chemistry teacher and later became a chemical quality inspector with extensive knowledge. Her computer contained records of chemical purchases. Meanwhile, in the lounge, Li Shiqing didn't want to waste time. They needed a way to stop the explosion. Xiao Heyun frowned in thought and softly comforted her that they still had a chance.
