Nan Qiao, facing recurring altitude drop issues with her new drone product, announced at a company meeting that all production lines would be immediately halted. Wen Di expressed strong disapproval, arguing that this decision could jeopardize their market opportunities. Nan Qiao, however, declared her directive an order, not open for discussion, and told Wen Di to manage market problems, while she would resolve the technical issues.
She accused Wen Di of destroying their division of labor and violating Future Up's rules by producing the product without her final approval, emphasizing that only she, as the designer, knew when it was truly perfect. After the tense meeting, Chang Jianxiong attempted to comfort Nan Qiao, encouraging her not to be disheartened and to remember that her colleagues would endure hardships with her.
Shi Yue, playing on his phone, cynically suggested selling the company while its market value was still high, claiming it would benefit employees, shareholders, and Nan Qiao herself. Chang Jianxiong rebuked Shi Yue for his apparent lack of concern and reassured Nan Qiao, offering to coordinate with Wen Di and the U. S. company so Nan Qiao could focus solely on the technical problems. Overwhelmed, Nan Qiao asked both men to leave her alone.
Later, Wen Di was seen drinking by herself, still upset. Shi Yue then presented Nan Qiao with crucial first-hand flight test data and black box information from the U. S. west coast, which he had quickly secured. Reinvigorated, Nan Qiao spent the afternoon and night diligently analyzing the data. Shi Yue remained by her side, eventually falling asleep while watching her work. By morning, Nan Qiao confirmed that the problem was not with the device itself.
Shi Yue and Nan Qiao then traveled to a mountainous area for field testing. Back at the office, Chang Jianxiong grew alarmed upon discovering their location, especially after checking a weather report predicting an impending thunderstorm. He immediately called Nan Qiao, but Shi Yue intercepted and hung up the call. During their test, Nan Qiao’s drone lost signal due to lightning interference in the clouds.
Despite the worsening weather, Nan Qiao was insistent on retrieving the black box, stating that its data was unique and indispensable. Shi Yue, seeing the dark clouds, suggested they leave, acknowledging that signal loss in such conditions was normal, but Nan Qiao's determination led him to follow her as she went after the drone. As heavy rain began to fall, Shi Yue and Nan Qiao continued their search through the mountains until they finally found the drone.
With the rain intensifying, they sought refuge in a cave. Simultaneously, Chang Jianxiong arrived at the test site with Future Up employees, desperate to continue searching for Nan Qiao despite the dangerous conditions and poor visibility, but his team had to physically restrain him. Inside the cave, Nan Qiao twisted her knee, which Shi Yue promptly attended to. With night falling and no phone signal, they lit a bonfire.
Nan Qiao noticed Shi Yue's unease in the dark, prompting him to confess his fear, admitting he always slept with a bedside lamp on. Nan Qiao offered a technique to overcome this fear, suggesting he actively close his eyes to choose darkness, and then jokingly told him to imagine her as his bedside lamp for the night. They spent the night in the cave, sharing a small amount of food.
The next morning, as Chang Jianxiong and his search party were preparing to re-enter the mountain, Nan Qiao and Shi Yue emerged, having made their way back to the testing location. A relieved Chang Jianxiong then took them back to the city. Wen Di, who was originally scheduled for a flight to the U. S. to handle company affairs, called Shi Yue, intending to return to Shanghai instead.
He advised her to proceed with her original plan, assuring her that Nan Qiao was fine. Wen Di then revealed that Nan Qiao suffered from psychological aphasia due to a childhood accident and cautioned Shi Yue never to force her to speak if she became silent.
Shi Yue reflected on their night in the cave, realizing Nan Qiao, despite her own fear of the dark, had hidden it to comfort him and had put on a brave face for his sake. Nan Qiao later received a call from Nan Qin, who informed her that their father was at the police station. Nan Qiao and Ouyang Qi hurried over and learned that their father had severely beaten Zhou Ran at a comrades' reunion.
Zhou Ran had been loudly insulting Nan Qiao, criticizing her company and calling her arrogant. Nan Qiao’s father, still furious, vowed to hit Zhou Ran every time he saw him. As Zhou Ran, visibly bruised, left the station, Nan Qiao and Ouyang Qi handled the paperwork, noting that Zhou Ran had withdrawn his complaint. Reviewing the CCTV footage, they observed their father’s quick actions, finding a moment of amusement despite noticing he had injured his lower back from the exertion.
Nan Qiao informed Nan Qin, who, due to her car being inoperable, asked Nan Qiao to care for their father. Nan Qiao and Ouyang Qi brought Nan Qiao’s father to Ouyang Qi’s shop. Her father complimented Ouyang Qi on running her own establishment. Ouyang Qi used the opportunity to praise Nan Qiao’s ideals and courage, mentioning her recent ordeal in the rain.
This, however, provoked an angry outburst from Nan Qiao’s father, who lambasted Nan Qiao for recklessly endangering herself for drones, calling it a "laughingstock" and claiming it worried the entire family. He implied she would drag her colleagues down with her and complained that Nan Qiao only ever talked about drones, never emotions. Ouyang Qi quickly intervened to defuse the escalating argument.
Nan Qiao’s father then turned his attention to Ouyang Qi, mentioning Nan Si and advising her not to waste her youth waiting for his son, but to live her own life fully. Ouyang Qi simply nodded in agreement.
