At the hospital, Shao Pengcheng visited his father, Shao Jian, who lay weakly in bed. Shao Pengcheng expressed deep self-reproach, apologizing for his actions. Shao Jian reassured him that he wasn't angry and would recover after some rest, emphasizing that it wasn't easy to defeat him. Shao Jian observed Shao Pengcheng's impulsiveness, noting his tendency to act on emotion without planning, particularly when it came to protecting people like Cheng Zhenzhen.

He advised Shao Pengcheng to cultivate patience in all future endeavors and not to blindly contradict others. Shao Jian then explained that Love & Family Real Estate was founded by his parents and was Shao Pengcheng's inheritance, but Shao Pengcheng was not yet ready for the immense responsibility, which meant Shao Jian himself could not falter. Shao Pengcheng acknowledged his fault and voiced his surprise that his father was on his side.

Shao Jian explained that he regretted not having the chance to explain himself sooner, blaming himself for his wife's loneliness and early death. He realized that his career success meant nothing if he couldn't protect his loved ones. He urged Shao Pengcheng not to repeat his mistakes, to cherish and protect the people he loves. Shao Pengcheng promised to do so, mentioning his father, Zhen Zhen, and their company.

Shao Jian then asked his son to leave so he could rest. Meanwhile, Cheng Zhenzhen was distraught and vexed by the day's events, feeling betrayed by a friend and facing public suspicion. Jing Ran waited anxiously outside her apartment, repeatedly calling her phone which was turned off. When she finally arrived, Jing Ran immediately questioned why she hadn't answered his calls. Zhen Zhen vaguely mentioned that many things had happened.

Jing Ran revealed he had gone to see Shao Jian again to expedite her resignation, stating he could no longer wait. He then pulled out a ring and proposed to Zhen Zhen, believing that marriage would resolve all their current troubles. Tearfully, Zhen Zhen expressed her shock at his handling of the situation. She told him it wasn't the right time for marriage and that their differing expectations for the future made them incompatible.

She pointed out that while he accused her of not acknowledging his opinions, he similarly failed to support her passions. Zhen Zhen thanked Jing Ran for his love and everything he had done for her, confessing that she had tried to overcome their obstacles but couldn't, feeling that their love had become a burden. She felt they were both getting increasingly tired and shouldn't go against their true hearts in the name of love, as it was unfair and irresponsible.

She concluded by saying she wasn't the perfect girl he envisioned. Jing Ran was stunned by her complete rejection. He understood, expressing regret for the immense pressure his family and he had unintentionally placed on her. He gently hugged her, urging her to always be herself and become the person she truly wanted to be.

After Jing Ran left, Zhen Zhen leaned against her window, silently weeping as she replayed memories of their relationship from beginning to end, unable to stop sobbing. Back at his home, Jing Ran’s mother, Bai Auntie, waited up for him. Seeing his somber expression and the ring box in his hand, and noting he had had a little to drink, she immediately inquired about Zhen Zhen. Jing Ran calmly informed her that he had proposed but Zhen Zhen had refused.

Bai Auntie was shocked, finding it impossible to believe, and wanted to call Zhen Zhen. However, Jing Ran stopped her, explaining that they had broken up peacefully. Bai Auntie began to cry, lamenting how such a seemingly perfect match could end this way, but Jing Ran reassured her that he was fine and that perhaps it was for the best, preferring a short pain over a prolonged one.

Bai Auntie hugged him, heartbroken, but ultimately told him she believed he would find a kind girl who would love him with all her heart. At the hospital, Shao Pengcheng repeatedly tried to call Cheng Zhenzhen, but she didn't answer. He worried she was still angry about his deception. Just then, Luo Zu'er arrived, carrying gifts for Shao Jian.

She met Shao Pengcheng outside his father's room, expressing concern for Shao Jian and offering to visit another time as he was resting. Luo Zu'er then commented on the online article, assuring Shao Pengcheng that she believed in his innocence and offered to pay someone to "iron out" the situation. Shao Pengcheng quickly dismissed the article as a malicious fabrication and told her not to get involved.

Luo Zu'er, however, blamed Cheng Zhenzhen, calling her a "jinx" who caused all the trouble, his father's illness, and the company's problems. Shao Pengcheng sternly warned her to stop slandering Zhen Zhen and to mind her own business. He explicitly stated that from now on, they were separate individuals, and she should not interfere in his affairs. Visibly hurt, Luo Zu'er questioned why Cheng Zhenzhen was so important to him.

Later that evening, Shao Pengcheng went to Cheng Zhenzhen's apartment, calling out her name and knocking on the door. He eventually entered, carrying a large bag of snacks, which he proudly displayed as an offering, believing she was still upset with him. Zhen Zhen clarified that she wasn't angry at him, but then revealed she had broken up with Jing Ran and began to cry uncontrollably, burying her face in her knees.

Shao Pengcheng took her to a riverside spot with a beautiful night view of the city. He encouraged her to shout out all her unhappiness to the city. He told her he understood her feelings about heartbreak and reminded her not to deny herself because of a relationship, as every experience helps one grow.

He explained that her breakup wasn't due to her being "not good enough" or unable to give Jing Ran what he wanted, but rather because their desires were different. He stressed that in love, there is no right or wrong, only compatibility. He advised her to accept the situation, both the good and the bad, and to focus on her future by following her heart.

Shao Pengcheng promised to always support her, saying, "Even if one day the whole world abandons you, I, Shao Peng Cheng, will have your back forever." Inspired by his words, Zhen Zhen yelled out her frustrations to the river. Separately, Xi Shan and Xiaoning had reconciled. They were happily eating cake together. Xiaoning suddenly asked Xi Shan if she had ever thought about what their wedding day would be like. Xi Shan smiled, considering the thought.
