Cong Rong’s heart fluttered wildly. Qin Chu noticed and quietly walked away. Wen Shaoqing later asked Cong Rong to meet him that night, saying he had something important to tell her. Everyone was busy preparing the venue. Wen Rang was helping Zhou Chengcheng with the barbecue. After tasting it, Zhou Chengcheng said it was amazing and asked him to work at her shop. Wen Rang refused. In the tent, Cong Rong realized two pillows were missing.
Wen Shaoqing immediately brought some over. When their eyes met, Cong Rong quickly looked away and left to eat barbecue. That night, they played a game where everyone wrote anonymous questions on slips of paper. The rule: whoever’s name was drawn had to answer truthfully. The first question went to Zhong Zhen—clearly written by himself. Then someone asked Wen Rang if he’d ever had a heartbreakingly deep love—obviously Zhou Chengcheng’s question.
Finally, two questions for Wen Shaoqing were drawn: whether he had someone he liked present, and if he had known that person for a long time. He answered yes to both. Cong Rong assumed he meant Qin Chu, unaware that Wen Shaoqing’s eyes were on her the entire time. Cong Rong and Qin Chu shared a tent. Cong Rong remembered that Wen Shaoqing had asked to meet her that night, but before she could leave, Qin Chu stopped her.
She asked to take a walk. At the beach, Qin Chu twisted her ankle and took the opportunity to confess: Wen Shaoqing had once saved her life during a university medical outreach in a remote mountain village. She begged Cong Rong not to come between her and Wen Shaoqing. Cong Rong knew she had already fallen for him, but when Wen Shaoqing reached out, she let Qin Chu take his hand instead.
Seeing Cong Rong walk off alone, Wen Shaoqing quickly followed and invited her to see a moon model he made as a child. Cong Rong pulled away and calmly stated that they were just neighbors and colleagues, and asked him not to misunderstand. Though hurt, she would only be with someone she truly liked. After finishing surgery, Wen Shaoqing left breakfast outside Cong Rong’s door, but she didn’t take it.
Qin Chu dressed up and invited Wen Shaoqing to dinner, but he declined. When she mentioned it was about Cong Rong, he finally agreed—otherwise, no one could have persuaded him. Hearing from Zhong Zhen that Wen Shaoqing had gone to dinner, Cong Rong was upset. He had been cold and distant since the camping trip, and the only person who could get him to eat was Qin Chu.
She dragged Zhong Zhen to eat steak and watched from the window like a stalker. Qin Chu was about to confess when Wen Shaoqing interrupted her. When Wen Shaoqing returned to the apartment, he knocked hard on the door. Cong Rong, thinking it was food delivery, was startled. He asked why she kept avoiding him. Cong Rong finally snapped, accusing him of liking Qin Chu while still flirting with her.
Wen Shaoqing firmly told her he didn’t like Qin Chu and that the one he had feelings for might still be clueless. Cong Rong couldn’t figure out who he meant. Cong Rong’s mother and younger sister visited Yunji Hospital, intending to get a cosmetic procedure. Zhong Zhen immediately texted Cong Rong to warn her, but they still ran into each other. Her mother fainted from shock upon seeing Cong Rong had returned to work.
After waking up, her mother was furious to learn that Cong Rong had resumed her legal career and strongly disapproved. To ease her worries, Cong Rong lied and said she was working in medical finance at the hospital. Her mother didn’t believe her and insisted on staying at the hospital for a few days. Sensing trouble, Wen Shaoqing told her mother the hospital fees were expensive. Alarmed, her mother quickly decided to go home. Wen Shaoqing drove them back.
Hearing the rent was only 2,000 yuan, her mother assumed the neighborhood must be terrible. At the door, Cong Rong suddenly remembered her law books were on the table and rushed inside to hide them, stuffing her hospital internship contract into the closet.
