Zhou Chengcheng hugged Wen Rang and said she was cold, catching him off guard. He took off his jacket and threw it to her to wear. Zhou Chengcheng put it on, then hugged him again, saying she was worried he would get cold. Cong Rong and Wen Shaoqing saw this on the bus and made a bet. Wen Shaoqing reminded Cong Rong that Wen Rang had always been emotionally reserved and unlikely to fall in love.
Cong Rong countered, believing that Zhou Chengcheng’s warmth would melt Wen Rang’s cold heart. Cong Rong compiled her weekly report, which earned recognition from everyone. Wen Shaoqing sent her a string of numbers meaning “I miss you. ” After work, Cong Rong went to the hospital, and they planned to have dinner together. But Chen Cu received an emergency surgery call and specifically requested Wen Shaoqing. Unexpectedly, Qin Chu was also in the operating room, making Chen Cu feel awkward.
Qin Chu said it was fine. After the surgery, she confessed to Wen Shaoqing that she had once liked him, but it was all in the past. She just hoped he wouldn’t feel burdened. Wen Shaoqing thanked her and said it was great that they could still be colleagues and friends. Wen Shaoqing went to the break room and found Cong Rong asleep.
He leaned in to look at her, and when she woke up startled, she thought he was going to kiss her—only for Wen Shaoqing to comment that her face looked swollen. He took her to the dental department, where the doctor said it was just inflamed wisdom teeth, nothing serious, and advised her to watch her diet.
Cong Rong was embarrassed and asked Wen Shaoqing to stop staring at her tooth extraction—everyone in the hospital already knew he was in love and had successfully left the singles' group ranking. Zhou Chengcheng brought a bunch of tools to the bookstore and also bought Wen Rang a shirt. He coldly transferred her the money, pitying her financial situation. Zhou Chengcheng, feeling wronged, apologized for watching the CD and hoped he wouldn’t be mad at her for it.

Zhong Zhen confidently told Zhou Chengcheng, in his professional tone, that such things take a while and not to interrupt.
The two squatted at the door waiting—only to find out later that Cong Rong just had a toothache, and Wen Shaoqing was about to go buy her medicine when he saw them outside. Zhong Zhen quickly left the scene. Zhou Chengcheng asked Wen Shaoqing for Wen Rang’s home address and for some advice. Cong Rong’s work at the law firm was going well, and she was picking things up quickly—so much so that she almost forgot to eat.
Shangguan Yi personally guided her in the break room. A male colleague saw them and gossiped, thinking there might be something between them. Chen Cu carried several bags of rice, but Wen Shaoqing refused to give him a ride, so he had to order Zhong Zhen around. Wen Shaoqing picked up Cong Rong after her overtime shift, hoping to surprise her.
But she was having takeout with Shangguan Yi, who was so focused on work he picked up the wrong dish. Cong Rong snatched the file from his hand and told him to eat properly. When she left the firm, she just missed Wen Shaoqing. It wasn’t until he messaged her again that he learned she had already gone home in Shangguan Yi’s car.
