Two family-sized buckets of chicken wings were placed between them; the first to finish would win. They ate ferociously, occasionally glancing up to assess each other's progress. Benben emerged victorious, triumphantly riding off on his motorcycle. Mi Qiao, unwilling to accept defeat, hopped on a bicycle and pedaled furiously after him, yelling for him to stop.
Her voice grew fainter until Benben, sensing something was wrong, turned back to find Mi Qiao collapsed on the roadside. Mi Qiao awoke in the hospital. Benben was deeply affected upon learning that the usually cheerful Mi Qiao had a heart condition, despite her pale face and faint smile. While Mi Qiao took her frequent hospitalizations in stride, her father rushed to her side, visibly distraught. Meanwhile, Benben faced his own troubles.
In his haste to help Mi Qiao, he had abandoned his stepfather’s motorcycle. His stepfather angrily confronted him, even kicking him. In a stairwell, Benben, feeling guilty, offered to ask his biological father to give his stepfather more money each month. Mi Qiao, who was nearby, overheard their conversation and empathized with Benben, remarking that "each family has its own difficulties."
Mi Qiao then implored Benben not to reveal her illness to anyone, especially Yu Zhouzhou, as she didn't want to be treated differently. Benben understood and promised to keep her secret, sealing it with a vicious oath. The next morning, Lin Yang was seen reciting "True warrior, dare to face the bleak life. . ."
on a rooftop, playfully claiming the pressure of being Zhen Hua High School's "image ambassador" alongside Yu Zhouzhou, and lamenting how their photo on the school website had them unexpectedly separated. During a Chinese literature class, the teacher called on students to recite a passage. Xu Zhiqiang threw a paper ball to disturb Xin Rui. Xin Rui opened it and found a drawing of a pig's head. Xin Rui gave Yu Zhouzhou a card, while Yu Zhouzhou gave Xin Rui a pair of gloves. In the teachers' office, Zhang Ping's desk was piled with student gifts. His colleague, Zhang Feng, observed the stark contrast with his own empty desk. Zhang Ping offered him an apple. There, he acquired potassium permanganate and glycerin, intending to use them for a special effect. As they debated where to deploy the chemicals, their experiment accidentally caught fire.
