She admits that while she finds Ye Chen attractive, she feels she cannot pursue her best friend's ex-boyfriend. As she speaks, Tian Jingzhi secretly takes Zhang Xuanxuan's phone and texts Ye Chen, arranging to meet him at 10 PM at a coffee shop near the filming location, much to Zhang Xuanxuan's frustration.
Meanwhile, Professor Li prepares to leave the country, entrusting his lab and research data to Ye Chen. He explains he must go to the United States because his daughter, Annie, is critically ill and her condition is worsening. Concurrently, Professor Li corresponds with his mysterious sponsor, informing them that he has identified the revived superhuman's weakness. However, the sponsor is uninterested in a weakness, demanding a direct method to kill him.
After Professor Li's desperate pleas, the sponsor agrees to provide another blood sample. Xue Lingqiao seeks to retrieve his ancestral jade piece from a collector, but the auction company requires a renowned individual as a guarantor due to the item's immense value. He arrives at their meeting spot to find only Tian Jingzhi's scattered sunglasses and a yogurt carton, confirming his fears that something is wrong. He sees a message from Tian Jingzhi directing him to Warehouse 33 and rushes there. At the same time, a worried Zhang Xuanxuan, unable to reach either of them, alerts Li Yanzhi.
Upon learning Tian Jingzhi's sunglasses were found at the site, Li Yanzhi tracks her phone records, which lead him and his team to the same warehouse. Xue Lingqiao discovers Warehouse 33 is a cold storage facility. Inside Freezer 15, he finds a shivering Tian Jingzhi. Before they can escape, the door is locked from the outside by Professor Li.
He reveals that he has discovered Xue Lingqiao's weakness: at thirty degrees below zero, his regenerative abilities become dormant, and his body enters a state of suspended animation. Professor Li plans to wait for this to happen before draining his blood, ensuring he never revives. As the temperature plummets, Xue Lingqiao gives his jacket to Tian Jingzhi.
She urges him to keep talking to stay awake, expressing her pity for his lonely five-hundred-year existence and her gratitude that he finally walked into her life. Li Yanzhi's team arrives and arrests Professor Li, but they are unable to open the freezer's password-protected door. Desperate, Li Yanzhi calls Ye Chen for possible passwords. Ye Chen's first guess, Professor Li's daughter's birthday, is incorrect.
With only one attempt left, Ye Chen suggests 20150523, which successfully unlocks the door, and Tian Jingzhi and Xue Lingqiao are rescued. While being transported by two officers, a staged car accident provides a diversion for the mysterious sponsor's agents to incapacitate the police and free Professor Li. After being informed of the escape, Li Yanzhi goes to the research center to question Ye Chen. He suspects the sponsor was involved and demands to know their identity.
Ye Chen admits that Professor Li had been acting strangely since the superhuman's disappearance, and that the sponsor, who originally leased the body for research, was certainly aware of its unique properties and increased value after its revival.
