Xu Yuan of Flower World invited Chen Ye's team to discuss a partnership, expressing strong approval for their capabilities, particularly noting Xu Guangxi's involvement. Xu Yuan revealed her intention to expand into the film and television sector by establishing an Animation and Film Business Department within Flower World, with Chen Ye's team serving as its vanguard.

She committed to acquiring all their previous projects and increasing investment, a prospect that led one excited team member to call her a "living Buddha." The sole condition for this collaboration was for the entire team to relocate to Flower World's Guangzhou headquarters. Xu Yuan directly addressed Xu Guangxi's potential hesitation, stating her decision was firm and that his choice would determine the fate of the cooperation.

She urged him to consider carefully, reminding him of his recent, painful experience of losing a dream and adding that for a mature woman like Yin Yike, this shouldn't be a major issue. Xu Guangxi understood that refusal would mean the end of this significant opportunity. Later, he returned home and confirmed his suspicion that Yin Yike had helped arrange the meeting.

When he pressed her on whether she wanted him to go, she pragmatically praised the offer but evaded answering about her personal feelings, creating a difficult choice for him between love and career. Meanwhile, Chen Ye also grappled with a tough decision: pursue the dream of his team and friends, or stay for Qin Yiran. After confiding in his dog, he decided to ask Qin Yiran to an amusement park the next day to confess his feelings.

He resolved that if she accepted, he would stay; if she refused, he would take the team to Guangzhou. Qin Yiran arrived at the amusement park, and she, Chen Ye, and Yu enjoyed their time together. However, Chen Ye struggled to find the right moment to confess.

When he finally had a chance to speak with Qin Yiran alone, just as he was about to profess his love, she preempted him by stating their relationship could only be that of friends, citing her principle of "no marriage, no kids for safety." A stunned Chen Ye feigned composure, claiming he had anticipated this outcome. Qin Yiran, though outwardly stoic, was deeply disappointed, as she had secretly hoped he would persist.

She admitted to herself that while she questioned her ability to be a good mother and wife, she was trying to change for him and would have accepted him and Yu if he had been more insistent. Upset about Xu Guangxi's situation, Yin Yike called Qin Yiran to a bar for drinks. There, Qin Yiran recounted the day's events and her reflexive rejection of Chen Ye.

As a close friend, Yin Yike urged her not to miss out on a suitable partner due to fear. Yin Yike understood that Qin Yiran’s fear of being hurt was what prevented her from opening up. Reflecting on her actions, Qin Yiran lamented that she had missed her chance and there was no point in looking back. As they became intoxicated, Chen Ye called, and Yin Yike answered, telling him to come and pick up Qin Yiran.

Upon seeing Chen Ye, a tipsy Qin Yiran revealed her true feelings. She tearfully asked why he hadn't told her about Guangzhou and confessed that if he had been more proactive, she wouldn't have run away. She explained that growing up in an unhappy family had made her distrustful of love, leading her to adopt her "no marriage, no kids for safety" belief.

Falling for Chen Ye had intensified her fear, as she worried the happiness would be fleeting and that she would be left alone if he and Yu ever abandoned her. She felt it was better to avoid the pain of loss by never having anything to lose in the first place. Watching a tearful Qin Yiran, Chen Ye was heartbroken. He took out the ring he had prepared and put it on her finger, assuring her he wasn't leaving.

As they embraced, Yin Yike watched with a look of relief and happiness for her friends. Separately, Xu Yuan's assistant informed her that preparations for the Guangzhou department were nearly complete but that Xu Guangxi's team not signing would impact company plans, especially with other animation companies vying for the spot. In response, Xu Yuan arranged individual meetings with Xu Guangxi and Yin Yike. Before his meeting, Xu Guangxi's team argued about the move.

Some were enthusiastic, while others worried about the strain of a long-distance relationship on him and Yin Yike, noting her previous breakup was due to similar circumstances. Xu Guangxi silenced them, affirming he knew what he was doing. During her meeting with Yin Yike, Xu Yuan was direct, asserting her undefeated track record in getting what she wants. She stated she was determined to take Xu Guangxi to Guangzhou and hoped Yin Yike would not stand in her way.

Yin Yike matched her directness, promising to handle all arrangements for Xu Guangxi's move so he could focus on work without worry. While admitting she would have personal concerns, Yin Yike expressed her belief that true love means supporting a partner's growth and dreams, arguing that a relationship reliant on "binding" is too fragile. She concluded by stating her trust in Xu Yuan's character, to which Xu Yuan, intrigued, playfully challenged, "What if I can't control myself?"

Later, at an aquarium, Chen Ye pointed out the happy penguin families to Yu and Qin Yiran. Qin Yiran cynically retorted that many penguins are unfaithful, citing the Emperor penguin's "annual monogamy" as proof for her "no marriage, no kids for safety" mantra. In response, Chen Ye brought up the flatfish, first quoting a classical poem where the fish symbolizes inseparable lovers. When Qin Yiran looked confused, he humorously pivoted, clarifying he meant he liked eating them—steamed or braised—because they have few bones and are delicious.
