She earnestly promised Xu Guangxi that her interactions with Li Zelin would be strictly professional, with no personal contact, asserting there was nothing between them.
She admitted she was anxious about his reaction, but Xu Guangxi, amused by her serious explanation, laughed, reassuring her he was not petty and was quite confident in their relationship. He even expressed regret for not having studied law, wishing he could have been the one to help her. The next morning, Xu Guangxi arrived at Yin Yike's residence with a homemade breakfast, including a heart-shaped fried egg, only to find Li Zelin already there.
Li Zelin claimed he was picking Yin Yike up for an early meeting with Flower World, showcasing his efficiency. Xu Guangxi, however, pointed out Li Zelin's illegal parking and threatened to report him, adding a playful jab about Li Zelin being a lawyer who should uphold the law. As they drove, Yin Yike observed that Xu Guangxi transformed into a "devil brother" whenever he encountered Li Zelin. Upon reaching the company, after Yin Yike went inside, Li Zelin approached Xu Guangxi, addressing him as "designated driver" and implying that only he could truly handle the critical matters facing Yin Yike and SC. He emphasized his role in protecting SC's interests, subtly asserting his importance. Meanwhile, at Chen Ye's company, his son, Chen Yu, was doing his homework.
He overheard employees discussing a new investor and, to their astonishment, declared that he was the "boss" and that his father, Chen Ye, had paid the company's previous utility bills using Chen Yu's tuition fees. The representative adamantly demanded two million in compensation. Yin Yike, drawing on her professional expertise, argued for a lower settlement, highlighting that Flower World's official seal had been counterfeited, which could damage their public image. She also pointed out SC's previous successful promotional efforts, which had indirectly benefited Flower World, and proposed transforming the "false cooperation" into a "real one." Li Zelin, visibly irritated by Yin Yike's proactive approach, interrupted her afterward in private.
He stated her proposals were outside the legal scope of the discussion and criticized her for disrupting his pre-planned negotiation strategy. After her overtime, Yin Yike tried to contact Xu Guangxi but couldn't reach him. Concerned, she called his roommate, Chen Musen, who informed her that Xu Guangxi had returned home but had locked himself in his room after encountering Li Zelin.
