> Love Scenery Recap

In the wake of a public scandal involving her now ex-boyfriend, popular singer Liang Chen is encouraged by her friend Taro to play the online game "Beautiful Soul." As Taro is leaving for a month-long spiritual retreat, he asks his university-student friend, Lu Jing, to guide Liang Chen in the game. Lu Jing correctly guesses the friend is a complete novice but is persuaded to help by the offer of a limited-edition Iron Man figure.

Taro then informs Liang Chen, but she becomes suspicious when she sees the guide's bizarre WeChat username, "Happy Bootlicker, Lu Jing," asking Taro if he's some kind of "desperate guy." Taro reassures her that Lu Jing is just a well-behaved student, and intrigued, Liang Chen adds him. In his dorm, Lu Jing's friends are amused that he is guiding a girl.

One friend warns that a novice player will be his "nightmare" and ruin his gaming stats, recounting his own negative experience. Confident in his abilities, Lu Jing dismisses the warning and makes a bet with them: if his performance suffers because of her, he will grant them one request. Liang Chen joins Lu Jing's voice chat room using a voice changer.

Her inexperience is immediately apparent; she is terrified of the in-game robots and admits to having been eliminated six times in just half an hour. During a tense escape in a subsequent attempt, Lu Jing instructs her to use a smoke bomb to obscure the enemies' vision. However, Liang Chen mistakenly throws a live explosive that kills Lu Jing instantly. His friends burst into laughter over his demise at the hands of his own teammate. Liang Chen apologizes profusely.

Lu Jing's internet briefly disconnects, leading Liang Chen to worry that he has abandoned her due to her poor skills. However, Lu Jing remains committed to his promise to Taro. His friends later speculate that the girl he's guiding might be a man using a voice changer, especially since her WeChat profile is empty. Meanwhile, Liang Chen is struggling with a creative block.

She tells her manager, Mr. Zhou, that none of the songs proposed for her new album give her the right "feeling" and that she needs a breakthrough. At his university, Lu Jing attends a lecture on artificial intelligence to find inspiration. His friend then informs him that he has signed them up as a team for a data mining competition.

Later, Lu Jing's friends call in their bet, forcing him to "pay the price" by performing in public at the Faculty of Music. Coincidentally, Liang Chen has also gone there, her old alma mater, hoping to find musical inspiration. As Lu Jing is forced to perform, he plays Symphony No. 35 in D major on the violin.

Hearing the familiar melody, Liang Chen is stunned, recognizing it as the exact piece that inspired one of her own hit songs, "You Have Me," and is moved by how beautifully it is played.
