Outside Dragon Howl City, an intense battle erupted as numerous martial arts factions united to besiege the city. Mo Huan stood high above, observing Nalan Yue, who was almost out of strength and surrounded by enemies, yet she did not intervene. It was only when a volley of arrows rained down from Dragon Howl City that Nalan Yue, in a desperate attempt to protect Rong Hua, shielded her with his body.
This act fully ignited the hatred within him, fueling the Chihua Pill and allowing him to finally achieve the Illusion Butterfly transformation. Although Nalan Yue subsequently eliminated many of the faction disciples, startling everyone, he nearly succumbed to demonic possession and lost his sanity during the process. Fortunately, Lu Yizhou arrived just in time to suppress the poison in his body. Meanwhile, Rong Hua, having been injured during their escape, suffered a sudden hemorrhage.
Despite Nalan Yue's efforts with acupuncture, he could not save their unborn child. He quickly took Rong Hua to Mei mansion to recuperate, secretly vowing to master the Command to the Dark Soldiers Skill to thwart Mo Huan's conspiracy and restore peace to the martial arts world. During this time, Mei Xueman, who had endured numerous hardships and lost her family, insisted on following Nalan Yue. However, her unrequited love for him led to growing resentment towards Rong Hua.
Cang Qi, worried that Mei Xueman might turn her love into hatred and unwilling to see her suffer further, confessed his feelings to her. Though he received no immediate response, he felt a sense of peace, having expressed his heart. Later, Cang Qi expressed concern when he saw Mei Xueman adding something to Rong Hua's medicine.
Mei Xueman reassured him it was only honey to make the bitter medicine palatable, and even drank some herself to prove her innocence, making Cang Qi realize he had been overly anxious and misunderstood her. He then confessed his own feelings to Mei Xueman, acknowledging his pain at seeing her sad and hurt for Nalan Yue, who would never reciprocate her love. Mei Xueman admitted she understood Nalan Yue was an unreachable goal, but found it hard to let go.
After the battle, Bai Su was critically wounded and unconscious. Fearing he would lose the support of the people, Rong Jingfeng falsely claimed that Mo Huan was responsible for the attacks and incited the various factions to unite against her, making it appear that Lingxu Pavilion had colluded with the Ling Sect. Lu Yizhou could not remain in Tingfeng Town any longer. Before leaving, he secretly entered Rong Su's room to bid her farewell in person.
Lu Yizhou then asked Rong Su if, given the chance to choose again, she would truly abandon everything and follow him, as he had once asked her. Rong Su understood their conflicting positions and the need to let go, giving him a black chess piece to symbolize that their past was now cleared, with no further entanglement. However, seeing Lu Yizhou tear up, she couldn't control her own heartache.
She admitted that if time could rewind, she would abandon her status and grudges to follow him to the ends of the earth, never to disappoint him. Yet, she recognized that after so much bloodshed, there was no turning back. They tearfully parted ways. Under Nalan Yue's meticulous care, Rong Hua's physical condition gradually improved. Although initially grief-stricken by the news of their lost child, her sadness was fleeting. She soon began researching nutritious recipes at Mei mansion.
She also worried about Nalan Yue's difficulty in controlling the Chihua Pill within him and actively sought solutions. Nalan Yue knew Rong Hua was not emotionless; her forced cheerfulness was merely to prevent others from worrying. He wished she would express her emotions rather than suppress them. Rong Hua, however, preferred not to add to her troubles, intending to dedicate her remaining years to remembrance, while also acknowledging the impermanence of life and the necessity of accepting all changes.
She believed her own hardships were insignificant compared to what Nalan Yue had endured, especially as she suspected changes in his Chihua Pill. Nalan Yue later revealed to Lu Yizhou that the backfire from the Command to the Dark Soldiers Skill was becoming increasingly uncontrollable, posing a danger to everyone around him, including Rong Hua. He urged Lu Yizhou to keep this information from Rong Hua.
Meanwhile, Jinque, the leader of the Snow Union, accompanied by Liuli, went to Mo Huan to apologize, truthfully explaining that they had allied with Rong Hua to serve the greater good. Mo Huan rebuked them but then dismissed the matter, acknowledging that the Snow Union had served the Ling Sect for many years and, out of consideration for her beloved disciple Guan Buzhuo, she would spare Jinque.
Mo Huan also noted that Nalan Yue's Command to the Dark Soldiers Skill was almost complete, and that the previous battle, where his hatred erupted while protecting Rong Hua, was crucial for the Chihua Pill to transform into the Illusion Butterfly. She believed this experience had made Nalan Yue understand the importance of power, and he would eventually return to the Ling Sect.
Learning that Liuli was about to leave Tingfeng Town with Jinque, Xuan Ye rushed to see her off and conveyed a request from Rong Su to Jinque. Jinque noticed the affection between Xuan Ye and Liuli but did not comment. Liuli was reluctant to leave, holding many important words in her heart, intending to express them when they met again.
When Rong Su later asked Xuan Ye about his relationship with Liuli, he downplayed it, but Rong Su, realizing the importance of the Snow Union connection, instructed him to write to Liuli later, asking her to discreetly investigate Rong Hua and Nalan Yue's whereabouts. Rong Su, sensing something amiss, immediately ordered Xuan Ye to investigate the matter in secret. Upon discovering that the explosives used to destroy the mountain tunnel originated from Dragon Howl City's own storeroom, Rong Su realized her father's true intentions and suspected that Bai Su's knowledge was vital to the fate of the faction leaders. Deeply disturbed by this revelation and concerned for Dragon Howl City's safety, Rong Su couldn't expose the truth directly.
She discreetly instructed Xuan Ye to quickly warn Bai Weizhi to protect Bai Su's life, fearing he might suffer further harm. A messenger then arrived, summoning Rong Su to the meeting hall for an urgent discussion with Rong Jingfeng, specifying that she was to go alone.
