Love a Lifetime Episode 15 Recap
> Love a Lifetime Recap
As evening approached in Tingfeng Town, Zi Yan enjoyed a bowl of savory soup, then suggested to Bai Weizhi that he should make it for a good woman he meets someday. As she prepared to return to Dragon Howl City, Bai Weizhi confessed his long-held affection for her, admitting he had always liked her and knew she might have noticed but avoided it.
He tried to claim that by speaking his feelings aloud, he was finally putting her out of his heart. Yet, his true feelings quickly resurfaced as he added that if Rong Jingfeng ever treated her poorly, he would immediately welcome her back into his heart. Teary-eyed, Zi Yan expressed regret for not accepting his love.
Bai Weizhi, attempting to appear nonchalant, tried to console her, saying it was for the best as he would no longer bother her at the Hall of Sickness. However, his inner turmoil was clear as he turned away to watch a street performer's fireballs, secretly weeping. Meanwhile, Rong Su stood alone by the river. Lu Yizhou found her there, explaining he had only located her after asking Lin Jing.
Rong Su questioned why he wasn't returning to Lingxu Pavilion with Lin Jing and Rong Hua. Lu Yizhou replied that he had stayed behind to find her, also inquiring about her wound. Rong Su coldly dismissed his concern, telling him to stop pretending. Frustrated by her continued disbelief, Lu Yizhou abruptly pulled her into a tight embrace, declaring his love.
He vowed that if she would ever abandon Dragon Howl City, he would leave everything to travel the world with her, settling wherever she desired, be it Jiangnan, the Northern Wastelands, or Diannan. Rong Su scoffed at his romantic notion, asserting that she would only leave Dragon Howl City when it was in ruins, unlike Rong Hua, who would sacrifice everything for worldly love.
Lu Yizhou reaffirmed his commitment, telling her not to refuse him again and promising to wait for her at Lingxu Pavilion. After he departed, Rong Su, visibly moved yet still guarded, privately wondered about such a stubborn and persistent man. With Dragon Howl City’s gates wide open, Rong Hua and Lin Jing walked out hand in hand.
Rong Hua turned back to gaze at the city plaque, reflecting on how much had changed, and wondered if Lingxu Pavilion would offer a starry sky as splendid as Dragon Howl City's. Lin Jing simply encouraged her to go forward. They reaffirmed their lifelong commitment, with Lin Jing expressing his desire for Rong Hua to be with him forever, to which she lovingly agreed, sealing their departure from the city.
Back in Dragon Howl City, Xuan Ye expressed concern to Rong Su that the Hall of Life remained leaderless after Lin Jing’s departure, fearing it would revert to Rong Jingfeng’s control. She advised Rong Su to take charge of its affairs to consolidate her power. However, Rong Su displayed a newfound composure, cautioning against rushing things, believing that hasty actions would backfire. She asserted that the four halls of Dragon Howl City should function as a united family.
She then inquired about Rong Jingfeng’s recent mysterious whereabouts. Xuan Ye reported that the guards of the Chihua Pill Flower Sea had been inexplicably relocated overnight, and Rong Jingfeng had forbidden entry to all, offering no explanation. Driven by curiosity and a sense of unease, Rong Su went to inspect the Flower Sea herself. She was horrified to discover it completely destroyed. Rong Jingfeng then appeared, revealing that Mo Huan was responsible.
He confessed that the destruction of the Flower Sea, once a symbol of his lifetime's efforts, was now a mark of his humiliation and defeat. He acknowledged his carelessness but stated that dwelling on the past was pointless. Rong Su, understanding the gravity of the situation, realized Mo Huan's actions aimed to destabilize Dragon Howl City.
Rong Jingfeng affirmed that while the flower sea could be replanted and new antidotes made, the immediate challenge was solving the antidote supply for the coming year, as failing to provide it would invite attacks from all martial arts factions and lead to the city's ruin. He then tasked Rong Su with covertly investigating how the master of Lingxu Pavilion had resisted the Chihua Pill's effects without needing the antidote, a mission Rong Su accepted, promising to remain undetected.
As Mei Ying was about to depart Dragon Howl City, escorted by disciples, Rong Su personally came to see him off, expressing surprise that he hadn't informed her of his departure. Mei Ying humbly thanked her for the escort, deeming her personal presence unnecessary. Rong Su declared that they were now "in the same boat," and as long as she remained the Hall of Emptiness master, Dragon Howl City would support the Mei family's resurgence.
Mei Ying reciprocated with gratitude, pledging to repay her kindness. Rong Su then mentioned her own upcoming journey to Jiangnan and asked for his guidance. Mei Ying, acknowledging his family's decline but still having some knowledge of Jiangnan, offered his assistance. Before parting, Rong Su subtly probed Mei Ying about his seemingly deep connection with Lin Jing and his knowledge of Lingxu Pavilion, especially since the Chihua Pill he stole had ended up with Lingxu Pavilion's master.
Mei Ying, however, skillfully dodged her questions, emphasizing his family's precarious position and the need for caution to avoid further disaster. Rong Su understood and wished him a safe journey. After a long journey, Rong Hua finally arrived at Lingxu Pavilion to an elaborate welcome. Lu Yizhou, along with numerous servants, had prepared a grand reception, an unexpected display that even surprised Rong Hua. Lin Jing explained it was all specially arranged for her.
Lu Yizhou introduced Cai, a clever and capable maid with years of service at Lingxu Pavilion, who was tasked with overseeing Rong Hua’s daily needs to ensure her comfort. Lu Yizhou then led Rong Hua to an elegant courtyard named "Warm Home for Hua." Cai further revealed that Lin Jing had personally designed every detail of the courtyard, from its layout to the calligraphy on its plaque.
Even while in Dragon Howl City, he had sent over thirty letters, meticulously detailing every aspect of its preparation, a testament to his profound affection for Rong Hua. Rong Hua thanked them, eager to explore her new home. However, upon entering her elegantly prepared bedroom, Rong Hua was met with the unsettling sight of white ribbons hung across the room.
Lin Jing, furious, immediately confronted Lu Yizhou, demanding an explanation for his mother, Lin Ruohan, allying with Mo Huan, something he hadn't been informed about. Lu Yizhou explained that Lin Ruohan had acted suddenly, choosing to deal with Mo Huan herself to shield Lin Jing and Rong Hua from danger, especially given Mo Huan's unpredictable nature.
He argued that Lin Ruohan, though outwardly stern, deeply cared for Lin Jing and had tacitly approved his marriage to Rong Hua by arranging the proposal in advance. Lin Jing, still reeling from the alliance, acknowledged his deep debt to his mother and resolved to protect her from Mo Huan, vowing to confront the demon decisively, unlike Rong Jingfeng's past failure.
Returning to Rong Hua, Lin Jing tried to lighten the mood about the white ribbons, but Rong Hua recognized it as a clear warning. She advised against punishing the innocent servants, understanding that her presence, coupled with Lin Jing's favoritism, naturally caused resentment. She asserted her intent to win over Lingxu Pavilion's residents through her own merit, though she insisted Lin Jing "pay" for the day's shock.
To cheer her up, Lin Jing led her to his own private room, a place no other woman had ever entered. Rong Hua playfully remarked on the stark difference between her lavish room and his more spartan one. Lin Jing, in turn, revealed a hidden compartment filled with childhood "trophies" he'd secretly collected by winning games against Lu Yizhou. He fondly reminisced about making the secret drawers at the age of eight to hide his toys from his strict mother.
Looking ahead, Lin Jing enthusiastically envisioned their future children playing with these very trophies, confidently declaring their offspring would outshine Lu Yizhou's. Rong Hua, initially embarrassed by his talk of children, playfully agreed that they would need many more secret compartments, leading Lin Jing to declare they would have "three, no, five children," much to Rong Hua's blushing delight and protest. Meanwhile, Lu Yizhou, following Lin Jing's orders, interrogated the servants regarding the white ribbon incident.
Cai, stepping forward, took full responsibility, but Lu Yizhou dismissed her self-blame, assuring her he trusted her. He then sternly reminded everyone that Rong Hua was Lin Jing's beloved and now a part of Lingxu Pavilion, and any rebellious actions would not be tolerated. Some servants dared to voice their discontent, reminding Lu Yizhou of Rong Hua's Dragon Howl City origin and her past act of stabbing Lin Jing.
Lu Yizhou immediately silenced them, asserting that it was the Young Master’s decision and their opinions were irrelevant. Cai reiterated her commitment to ensure Rong Hua's safety, and Lu Yizhou vowed to uncover the true culprit and prevent any further incidents. Unbeknownst to Lin Jing and Rong Hua, Lin Ruohan and her party arrived in the Northern Wastelands. Despite the passing of Jingzhe, the region remained desolate and frigid, devoid of any spring warmth.
While others disliked its harshness, Lin Ruohan held a special fondness for it, as it was where she first met her late husband. Gazing at the unchanging landscape, she felt a profound sadness, acknowledging that though the scenery endured, her companion was gone. Cang Qi, her subordinate, inquired about her eagerness to lead such a dangerous mission, knowing Mo Huan’s true intentions were sinister.
Lin Ruohan explained that Mo Huan's dispatched Ling Sect disciples were spies, and this journey was a test and a warning to Lingxu Pavilion, compelling her to come. Soon after, Cang Qi discovered a Ling Sect disciple's robe floating on a lake and followed the trail upstream. They found a hidden mountain ravine where several dozen armed men ambushed them.
The leader of the attackers, mistakenly assuming Lin Ruohan was Mo Huan, launched a furious assault, vowing to kill all Ling Sect members. Lin Ruohan easily subdued him and, noticing a Chihua Pill tattoo on his neck, ordered Cang Qi to dispatch the accompanying Ling Sect guards. She then demanded the captured leader take her to Granny Jin Ye, a name that visibly shocked him.
