After the accident involving Dong Xiaoqing, Luo Weizhao didn't get a clear look at the perpetrator. He felt frustrated and suspected that the perpetrator was not a first-time offender. Xiao Wu found the car owner. The owner discovered the car was stolen after finishing his driving test. A lead came from Lan Qiao's side; surveillance footage captured the perpetrator's vehicle. By the time Luo Weizhao and the others arrived, they found the perpetrator's vehicle was already on fire.

Zhou Huaixing admitted that he orchestrated and directed it himself, specifically finding someone to kidnap him to perform this act. Pei Su knew that Wu Zhengyu followed Zhou Huaixing's instructions, but Zhou Huaixing stated that Zhou Junhao's death had nothing to do with him. Zhou Huaixing only wanted to use Zhou Junhao's death to make a statement. He was not Zhou Junhao's biological son but was conceived before his mother married into the Zhou family.

Zhou Huaixing mentioned his biological father Zhou Yahou, claiming that back then Zhou Junhao had no status in the Zhou family and that Zhou Yahou's death was definitely related to Zhou Junhao. Back then, before his mother died, she gave him the safe password so he could keep Zhou Junhao in check. She hoped Zhou Huaixing would have a chance to escape the Zhou family and not be controlled by Zhou Junhao.

Pei Su learned that Zhou Huaixing (幸) was Zhou Junhao's only son, and Yang Bo was not the illegitimate son. Zhou Huaixing deliberately swapped Zhou Huaixing's (幸) sample, making Yang Bo mistakenly believe he was the illegitimate son. Zhou Huaixing originally wanted to use Yang Bo to deal with Zhou Junhao and make them fall out. However, unexpectedly, before the plan was realized, Zhou Junhao died in a car accident.

Zhou Huaixing had to make the best of it and came up with a temporary plan to orchestrate the act, exposing Yang Bo and Zheng Kaifeng. Pei Su did not understand, thinking the final inheritance was a mess. But Zhou Huaixing did not care; he only wanted Zhou Junhao's perverse bloodline to be publicized. Zhou Huaixing's words provoked Pei Su. Pei Su suddenly brought up Zhou Huaixing (幸), accusing Zhou Huaixing of being selfish and exploiting Zhou Huaixing's (幸) kindness.

Zhou Huaixing (幸) valued their brotherly relationship greatly and almost helped Zhou Huaixing confess to the crime. The surgery light went off. The doctor walked out and told them they had done their best, but Zhou Huaixing (幸) had died. Zhou Huaixing cried loudly after learning this. Pei Su told him the truth: the paternity test results were back, and Zhou Huaixing was Zhou Junhao's biological son. Zhou Huaixing couldn't believe it.

Pei Su looked at Zhou Huaixing's (幸) body and squeezed the water bottle tightly. Luo Weizhao saw that Pei Su was not alright. Pei Su claimed he was fine, but after getting out of the car and walking a few steps, he suddenly fainted. Luo Weizhao took him home. When Pei Su woke up, he lied, claiming he had low blood sugar. Pei Su asked about the investigation's progress.

Luo Weizhao didn't want to talk about it and said he wanted to care for him. Pei Su recalled his childhood, when similar people cared for him like this. Luo Weizhao was puzzled and asked Pei Su why he lived so remotely. He noticed a discarded ashtray on the table. Luo Weizhao brought up the past. Back then, his mentor took him out to work on a case and was injured, and later killed by a mentally ill inmate.

This was an unresolved issue for Luo Weizhao. Luo Weizhao wanted to persuade Pei Su, telling him that he shouldn't be trapped by his worries either. Just as Pei Su was about to share his worries, Tao Ze's phone call interrupted their conversation. Pei Su walked upstairs alone. Luo Weizhao didn't follow him but inadvertently saw a secret passage. As he walked towards it, he found a password lock on the door.

He tried to unlock it and was surprised to succeed. Luo Weizhao called Pei Su, wanting to inform him, but the call didn't connect. Luo Weizhao had no choice but to go straight in. After uncovering the middle curtain, he found technological equipment and drugs and immediately took pictures of them. He then found a remote control. After turning it on, he suddenly saw horrifying images and Pei Su as a child.

Pei Su suddenly came in and interrupted him, snatched the headset, put it on, and after plugging in the equipment, made the painful process from that time replay on his body. Luo Weizhao was stunned.
