Inside the academy, Bing Shen drank in frustration, lamenting his lack of archery skill and expressing jealousy over Wenxi's rapid progress. They suspected the injured individual was a scholar from Yun Shang Academy due to his escape into the academy grounds. Gu Zhen Yuan planned to seize the opportunity of the Grand Archery Ceremony to enter Yun Shang Academy with Master Wang, searching for the injured scholar among the participants. Principal Feng adamantly stated he had seen Lei Zexin drinking in the small courtyard the previous night, expressing surprise that he was now missing. Hearing this, Yu Lexuan immediately went to the small courtyard to search for him, fearing their team would be disqualified.
As the Grand Archery Ceremony was about to commence, Master Wang arrived, accompanied by Lord Han (Han Shengzhi's father) and Gu Zhen Yuan, along with the Imperial Brigade. However, Lei Zexin was resolute, stating that he had promised Wenxi he would compete and that there were things more important than life, such as the hope that Wenxi and Feng Chengjun had instilled in him. He declared he would participate, even if it meant his demise, to ensure their hope endured.
