Princess Liu Yang led Ru Xiaolan away, pretending to be concerned about her dirty clothes. Princess Liu Yang cruelly remarked that Ru Xiaolan, an orphan, dared to attend the party and sit next to the Crown Prince.
She warned Ru Xiaolan not to think that the Crown Prince and Qing Moyan truly liked her, asserting that they only pitied her. Ru Xiaolan boldly asked if the Princess was jealous. Enraged, Princess Liu Yang smeared Ru Xiaolan’s face with makeup, telling her to realize her rightful place. As the guards tried to drag Ru Xiaolan away, Qing Moyan and the Crown Prince arrived after hearing news of the conflict.
Upon seeing Qing Moyan, Princess Liu Yang immediately changed her demeanor and falsely accused Ru Xiaolan of being a troublemaker. The Crown Prince then arrived and stopped Qing Moyan from retaliating, giving Ru Xiaolan the opportunity to use her magic to momentarily immobilize Princess Liu Yang. Ru Xiaolan visited the injured Qing Moyan, feeling guilty. Qing Moyan pulled her hand, asking her to stay by his side. Later that night, Xuan Yu came to check on Qing Moyan and found Ru Xiaolan still vigilantly watching over him, teasing her about a young girl staying up so late with a man.
He mentioned that while Qing Moyan's wound was not severe, the underlying Gu poison in his body was formidable. While Qing Moyan was restless and calling her name in his sleep, holding her close, Ru Xiaolan attempted to steal his five-color stone and seal its power. The attempt backfired, transforming her back into a cat. Upon waking, Qing Moyan discovered Ru Xiaolan as a cat.
Knowing she needed a five-color stone to return to human form, he lent her his own. Recalling that she had seen her five-color stone on Princess Liu Yang, Ru Xiaolan decided she needed to retrieve it and planned to ask the Crown Prince for help to enter the palace. Meanwhile, Qing Moyan, along with Xuan Yu, privately searched for a five-color stone for Ru Xiaolan. During their search, an unexpected incident caused them to embrace, which Ru Xiaolan witnessed.
This led her to believe they had a secret romantic relationship, and she told Chang Hen about her suspicions, only to be chastised for gossiping. The Crown Prince successfully retrieved Ru Xiaolan's five-color stone from Princess Liu Yang and returned it to her. Qing Moyan observed the Crown Prince and Ru Xiaolan chatting, and his jealousy flared up once more. Qing Moyan later confided in the Crown Prince that he suspected Princess Liu Yang had been manipulated.
Ru Xiaolan, recalling the earlier events, confirmed that Princess Liu Yang was indeed controlled by a jade face doll. Together, they visited Princess Liu Yang, only to find that she had no memory of the incident. When pressed, Princess Liu Yang could not remember anything and nearly started another argument with Ru Xiaolan.
