A little goblin presented the group with a series of challenges, stating that each person or god would face one challenge behind one door. Success was contingent on everyone passing their individual tests; a single failure would mean collective defeat. Yue Shen questioned their trustworthiness, fearing an ambush. The goblin retorted that they could return if they gave up. However, Ka Suo declared that since they had come so far, they would attempt the challenges.
Chao Ya entered her door and found herself among the Golden Oriole Valley tribesmen. They immediately accused her of allowing the Alligator Tribe to harm them. Chao Ya tearfully apologized, explaining that after her mother's disappearance, she became queen at a critical time and had to seek the Alligator Tribe's help to suppress internal conflicts, never anticipating they would inflict such harm.
The tribesmen, however, denounced her as a liar, claiming she purposefully turned a blind eye to the massacre, caring only for her royal position. Chao Ya insisted she fought for the Sprite Tribes, but the tribesmen called for a public trial, demanding her execution for betrayal. Huang Tuo’s door led him to his ailing father, who, with white hair, lay in bed.
His father joyfully greeted him, then desperately begged for the return of the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal, claiming its absence had ruined him. Huang Tuo explained that the Ice Crystal never truly belonged to them and he had returned it to the Ice Tribe. Enraged, his father accused him of lying, stealing the crystal, and plotting his death and usurpation of his throne.
Despite Huang Tuo kneeling and apologizing, citing the peace of the Three Realms as his reason for not returning the crystal, his father grew even more furious and lunged at him, vowing to kill him. Yue Shen entered her room and encountered a woman she initially believed to be her sister, Yue Zhao. The woman corrected her, identifying herself as Yue Leng, and inquired about Yue Shen’s studies with the Li Healer.
Yue Shen expressed her desire to learn traditional healing methods like Yue Zhao and Yue Leng, rather than poisons. Suddenly, Yue Leng collapsed, poisoned. Frantically, Yue Shen tried to fetch medicine, but her own touch inadvertently transformed it all into deadly toxins, leaving her helpless. She cried out, apologizing for her inability to save her sister. Pian Feng entered his room and found the long-missing Queen of the Sprite Lands.
She immediately rebuked him for daring to love her daughter, Chao Ya, asserting that a mere guard was unworthy of a princess. Pian Feng knelt, passionately declaring his sincere love and his unwavering resolve to protect Chao Ya. The Queen coldly revealed his true parentage: his mother was her maid who had an affair with a musician, abandoning Pian Feng, whom the Queen then took in out of pity.
A shocked Pian Feng, who had always believed himself an orphan, was then told that a woman named Liu Ju taught him to fly, helping him find a place in the Sprite Tribe. The Queen declared that Chao Ya's husband must be of noble birth to preserve the Sprite Tribe's bloodline, and therefore, Pian Feng must leave Chao Ya. Pian Feng defiantly refused, vowing to remain by Chao Ya's side despite his humble origins.
The Queen then attacked him, proclaiming him undeserving. Liao Jian entered his room, only to see Pian Feng and Chao Ya embracing. Enraged, he called out to Pian Feng for a fair fight after they both vanished. When Pian Feng reappeared, he accused Liao Jian of knowing he and Chao Ya were childhood sweethearts, yet orchestrating his exile and requesting his dying father to arrange a marriage with Chao Ya through Queen Chi Lian.
Liao Jian defended himself, stating he couldn't prevent his father's actions with Queen Chi Lian and genuinely loved Chao Ya. Pian Feng, however, branded him despicable for exploiting Chao Ya's heartbreak and weakness, asserting that Chao Ya only agreed to the marriage for the greater good and truly loved him. He further accused Liao Jian of jealousy, fearing that Chao Ya would discover his true petty and stingy nature and abandon him.
Overwhelmed and unable to respond, Liao Jian then engaged in a violent struggle with Pian Feng. Ka Suo entered his room and found both Li Luo and Lan Shang. Lan Shang wept, lamenting that she had lost everything for him. Ka Suo apologized to her, vowing to repay his debt, but firmly stated his love for Li Luo alone.
Lan Shang, consumed by anguish, questioned why he couldn't share even a fraction of his love with her, then declared her hatred for Li Luo and lunged at her, intending to kill her. Ka Suo intervened, using the God-Slaying Sword to strike Lan Shang. As she fell, she transformed into Ying Kong Shi, who told Ka Suo that he had made too many mistakes in his quest for Ka Suo's freedom and that only death could release him.
As Ying Kong Shi collapsed, Ka Suo tried to save him, but his brother transformed into Li Luo. Li Luo then confronted Ka Suo, pointing out that he loved her but couldn't save her, hurt Lan Shang despite not loving her, and couldn't stop Ying Kong Shi from making mistakes. She questioned if he could bring them back now that they were all gone. Ka Suo promised to try his best.
Li Luo then changed back into Ying Kong Shi, who calmly stated that some things cannot be achieved through sheer effort, much like his sacrifices for Ka Suo. Finally, Ying Kong Shi vanished, leaving Ka Suo alone.
The visions culminated in tragic ends for some: Xing Jiu leapt from a cliff, Huang Tuo stabbed himself to offer his heart to his father, Yue Shen was choked to death by Yue Leng, Chao Ya faced a public trial and execution by the elves, and Pian Feng was killed by the Queen. The group awoke, realizing they had been trapped in a dream. Xing Jiu explained that only by dying within the dream could one truly awaken.
The little goblin reappeared, mocking them for waking just as the dreams became most intense. Xing Jiu, however, revealed that as the Chief Dreamer, he had blocked other dream spells from the outset, recognizing the illusion upon seeing a cliff. The goblin conceded Xing Jiu’s strength but reiterated that only collective success counted, urging them all to return. When the others insisted on trying again, the goblin confessed that the Grand Priestess had cast the dream spell.
Ka Suo demanded to speak with the Grand Priestess directly, but the goblin refused. Noticing a familiar fruit on the goblin, Ka Suo suddenly realized its true identity and called out, "Grandma, is that you?" His suspicions were confirmed when the little goblin transformed into Grand Priestess Feng Tian, Ka Suo’s former grandma.
Feng Tian, the guardian of the Divine Snow Mountain entrance, urged them to leave, warning that she was the weakest god there and if they couldn't pass her challenges, they would surely perish deeper within the mountain. She instructed them to treat their experience as merely a dream and go back. The group was stunned by the revelation that their kind Grandma was, in fact, Grand Priestess Feng Tian.
They debated her allegiance, concluding that she didn't genuinely wish them harm but rather sought to deter them from proceeding. Meanwhile, Yan Da, secretly listening, grew impatient with their deliberations, complaining that she might as well go to sleep and scoffing at their inability to overcome an old woman. Pian Feng and Liao Jian began to bicker amongst themselves.
Xing Jiu urged everyone to seriously consider whether they could truly conquer their own inner demons if they were to re-enter the dreams. Ka Suo admitted his own defeat by his inner demons but encouraged them to rest, believing a solution would present itself. Yan Da secretly followed Ka Suo. Xing Jiu also followed, expressing concern. Ka Suo pondered how to overcome inner demons that manifested as loved ones, noting that they were like one's own shadow, impossible to escape.
Xing Jiu suggested that perhaps dealing with someone else's "shadow" might be clearer for an outsider. Ka Suo, resolved not to return home without the Hidden Lotus, then led the group back to Grand Priestess Feng Tian, requesting one last chance to pass the challenges. Feng Tian, with a sigh, agreed, promising to ensure they had no regrets if they failed.
This time, however, the group deliberately entered different doors, a move that baffled the little goblin, who cried out that they had entered the wrong rooms and should have chosen the same ones as before. This time, the group entered different rooms, confronting each other’s internal struggles.
Xing Jiu entered Chao Ya’s room and convinced the Golden Oriole tribesmen that Queen Chao Ya's actions were for their safety and she never intended the dire consequences caused by the Alligator Tribe, urging them to forgive her. Yue Shen entered Huang Tuo's room and killed Huang Tuo’s father, confidently declaring her healing skills superior to his "weak son's."
Huang Tuo found himself in Yue Shen's room, where he confronted Yue Leng, who accused him of killing her, which he denied, and then defeated her. Liao Jian entered Pian Feng's room and defeated the Queen, who proclaimed no one was good enough for her daughter. Pian Feng, in Liao Jian's room, killed himself after realizing his inner demons stemmed from self-pity.
Chao Ya entered Ka Suo’s room, and as Li Luo, Lan Shang, and Ying Kong Shi argued, she calmed them by playing a piece of music, thus resolving their conflict. Finally, Ka Suo entered Xing Jiu's room and bravely leapt from the cliff. The group awoke, having successfully conquered each other's inner demons.
The little goblin accused them of cheating, but Ka Suo countered that the rules only stated one challenge per room, not that they couldn't swap rooms, and Feng Tian agreed that they were indeed clever. Feng Tian acknowledged their ingenuity in overcoming the challenges and declared them victorious in that round. However, she then stated that to proceed, they must first defeat her. The little goblin, fearing the impending battle, quickly fled.
Liao Jian bravely stepped forward to attack but was effortlessly sent flying by Feng Tian’s immense power. The rest of the group joined the fight, yet even their combined efforts proved no match for her. Finally, Ka Suo drew the God-Slaying Sword and confronted Feng Tian. After a struggle, he managed to knock her unconscious. Huang Tuo examined her and confirmed she had only fainted. Elsewhere, Xing Gui simultaneously experienced a dream in which she foresaw her brother, Xing Jiu, encountering trouble.
