Following his betrayal, Bai Choufei meets with Chancellor Cai, acknowledging that his new, ruthless demeanor is a result of the Chancellor's influence. He reminds Cai of the promise made during his imprisonment. Cai, confirming he rewards loyalty, offers Bai Choufei control of the House of Sunset Drizzle, Six Half Hall, or even Fang Yingkan's position. Bai Choufei dismisses these, stating his true desire is to marry Lei Chun, an obsession he has held for a long time.

Lei Chun intervenes, calling the proposal inappropriate and warning that Bai Choufei's ambition makes him a future threat. Bai Choufei tries to persuade her by vowing to help her strengthen Six Half Hall. Seeing through his words, Lei Chun accuses him of wanting to marry her only to legitimize his control and become untouchable. Chancellor Cai ends the argument, approving the marriage.

He tells Lei Chun that a husband like Bai Choufei can handle matters she, as a woman, cannot, and that Bai Choufei's desires make him easy to control. Later, Cai’s aide expresses concern over Bai Choufei’s ambition, but Cai dismisses it, confident that Bai Choufei’s treacherous nature prevents him from ever gaining true power in the martial world.

Bai Choufei later confronts Lei Chun, professing that his love for her is genuine and not a ploy to seize Six Half Hall. Lei Chun coldly retorts that their past accounts are settled and calls him despicable for forcing the marriage, knowing she cannot defy Chancellor Cai. She declares she feels neither love nor hatred for him. Bai Choufei taunts her about the now-crippled Su Mengzhen, grabbing her and asserting that she is his, regardless of her feelings.

Meanwhile, Little Rock's master, Recluse Tianyi, urges him and Wen Rou to leave before heavy snow blocks their path. Before departing, Little Rock takes Wen Rou to a local prayer site. Recalling their conversation about watching the stars together, he confesses how terrified he was of losing her, even offering his own life to the gods in exchange for hers. Overcome with emotion, he declares he no longer wants to wait and proposes. With tears of joy, Wen Rou accepts.

Two weddings unfold in stark contrast. In the capital, fireworks light up the sky for Lei Chun and Bai Choufei's grand but somber wedding. At the banquet, Bai Choufei toasts Chancellor Cai, who reminds him of their agreement. Bai Choufei then taunts Lei Chun about Su Mengzhen's presumed heartbreak, but she calls him pitiful, stating he has already lost everything that truly matters. Angered, he forces her to drink with him.

Later, at the family's ancestral tablets, Lei Chun is found by Di Feijing. He urges her to flee the loveless marriage, but she kneels and begs him to leave Six Half Hall instead, fearing his loyalty would lead him to kill Bai Choufei, dooming them all. Acknowledging her duty as Chief Elder to endure and protect her family, Di Feijing tearfully agrees to leave.

As he departs, a subordinate informs him that it was Fang Yingkan who attacked Lei Chun and Wen Rou, and that Fang has now taken troops north. With a new purpose, Di Feijing begins his journey. In a remote outpost, Little Rock and Wen Rou’s humble wedding is filled with genuine joy. An old woman prepares Wen Rou, who is saddened by her father's absence.

Recluse Tianyi arrives, offering to act as her father figure, having raised Little Rock like a son. Wen Rou happily accepts, and they share stories of Little Rock's childhood. After Little Rock tells Wen Rou how beautiful she is, the couple completes their simple ceremony, bowing to heaven and earth, to their elder, and to each other, sealing their union.

On their wedding night, Lei Chun is alone, holding a pendant and recalling a past conversation with Su Mengzhen, who had promised a wedding witnessed by the stars. Bai Choufei enters and, enraged to find her thinking of Su Mengzhen, fiercely declares she is his woman. Lei Chun defies him, stating she will never truly belong to him.

In a fit of fury, Bai Choufei seizes her by the neck and smashes the pendant, a symbol of her bond with Su Mengzhen. Far away, as if sensing the act, Su Mengzhen clutches his chest and coughs up blood.
