Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 38 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recap
The company prepared to announce Sida's 15-year contract renewal. Unexpectedly, Sida declared he would terminate his management contract with Du Guruonan, shocking everyone present except Tong Tong. Du Guruonan quickly pulled Sida outside to talk privately. Sida explained that his feelings for her hadn't changed and he could no longer suppress them, going so far as to suggest publicly declaring his love since photos of them were already leaked.
Du Guruonan dismissed his idea as reckless, warning him he would ruin his career. She firmly told him she didn't need his protection and wouldn't accept his feelings, urging him to go back and sign the contract. Sida refused, stating he no longer wanted to be her artist; he wanted to be her man. Despite Du Guruonan’s clear rejection, Sida returned to the conference room and presented three conditions for his contract renewal.
First, his management contract with Du Guruonan must be terminated, and Shen Qiansha should replace her as his agent. Second, Du Guruonan should still receive the project profits that would have been hers during the contract period. Third, Du Guruonan must be reinstated as Head Agent. Tong Tong vehemently opposed Sida’s conditions, accusing him of colluding with Du Guruonan to undermine her and corrupting company culture. She even threatened him to leave the company if he continued to blackmail them.
The boss, visibly frustrated, decided to adjourn the meeting to reconsider. However, Du Guruonan cut him off, stating that her presence was indeed creating obstacles for Sida due to the recent news. For Sida's future, she announced her resignation and that she would no longer have any connection with him. Before leaving, she entrusted Sida's care to Shen Qiansha, advising her to be mature and think carefully, not impulsively.
She then addressed her colleagues, thanking them and asking them not to be sad, as the office was her battlefield, and she didn't want tears. She gave a final order for them to return to work instead of seeing her off. Meanwhile, Shen Qiansha confronted Sida, calling his actions childish and irresponsible. She accused him of not only hurting Du Guruonan and betraying her sacrifices but also hurting Shen Qiansha herself, who had hoped to become his agent.
Sida responded that he would abandon everything for Du Guruonan, only wanting her as his woman, and that other identities meant nothing to him. Shen Qiansha retorted that he made his former agent un-datable, and if she became his agent, she would have no hope either. She lamented that Sida had hurt two women in one day. Chen Fei'er, aware of Du Guruonan's workaholic nature, predicted she wouldn't tolerate being idle at home. Indeed, Du Guruonan quickly found herself bored.
Ji Mo arrived to encourage her, playfully calling himself her "eternal power bank" and offering to "recharge" her. Later, while caring for Song Zihao in the hospital, Shen Qiansha was distracted, spilling water. Song Zihao, now on medication that made him drowsy but also numb to troubling thoughts, consoled her that being numb was better than being a burden. Shen Qiansha expressed concern for Du Guruonan, but Song Zihao assured her Du Guruonan was resilient.
Shen Qiansha then realized Sida would likely intensify his pursuit of Du Guruonan now that she was no longer his agent. She initially thought of going back to watch him but decided to stay by Song Zihao's side instead, accepting that she couldn't stop Sida's intentions. Tong Tong's colleagues discussed her ingratitude, how she betrayed Du Guruonan, and maliciously suppressed Sida. They were relieved that Song Zihao had exposed her past misdeeds to the media.
Tong Tong overheard their conversation just before being summoned by the boss. The boss sternly criticized Tong Tong, revealing that Song Zihao had confessed all her "dirty deeds" to reporters. He expressed shame at having her in the company, accusing her of learning only harmful tactics from Du Guruonan. Despite Tong Tong's attempts to explain, the boss fired her immediately and banned her from Yuxing.
After Tong Tong's departure left the Head Agent position vacant, Sida sought out Du Guruonan, hoping she would return to the company. Du Guruonan refused, telling Sida that the outcome of their working relationship was sealed the moment he confessed his feelings. Sida desperately pleaded for another chance, promising to dedicate himself to work and become worthy of her.
Du Guruonan, though believing in his dreams, explained that his envisioned future no longer included her, and urged him to move forward bravely without her. Despite Sida's tearful pleas and promises to obey her every word, Du Guruonan held firm, asking him to "preserve some dignity for each other" and walked away. Simultaneously, Wing Fashion faced a severe crisis.
Zhao Yucheng learned that Ji Mo had managed to convince a factory director to continue cooperating with Wing Fashion despite Zhao Yucheng's efforts to sabotage them. Undeterred, Zhao Yucheng told Wang over the phone that Ji Mo wouldn't be lucky for long and would soon be too preoccupied to deal with Wang's matters. Zhao Yucheng then instructed his assistant to prepare for acquiring Wing Fashion shares the next morning.
The Wing Fashion stock plummeted due to online rumors alleging the company covered up clothing allergy issues with "sold out" claims. Ji Mo's assistant reported that the news spread abnormally fast, suggesting an inside job. Ji Mo, recognizing the signs of manipulation, called an emergency shareholder meeting. During the heated meeting, shareholders demanded immediate answers and compensation. Ji Mo asserted that the stock drop was orchestrated, and he needed time to uncover the mastermind.
Observing Wang's overly agitated behavior and detailed questions during the meeting, Ji Mo suspected him. Ji Mo later summoned Wang to his office, directly questioning him about the leak. Wang deflected responsibility, but Ji Mo pointed out Wang's unusually eager demeanor during the meeting. Ji Mo advised Wang not to act for personal gain at the expense of Wing Fashion, urging him to stand with the company.
Wang, feeling accused, listed his grievances against Ji Mo, claiming Ji Mo had repeatedly undermined him in the past and was now sidelining him. He accused Ji Mo of abusing his power by promoting Sida and Chen Fei'er to pursue Du Guruonan, and called Ji Mo's justifications for his actions "disgusting." Ji Mo responded by stating his business decisions for Sida and Chen Fei'er were based on their commercial value, which indeed brought great benefits to the company.
He stressed that his relationship with Du Guruonan was a private matter unrelated to Wing Fashion, and emphasized that the company's success was a collective effort, with people being more important than profits. Ji Mo then declared he would rectify his mistake of misjudging Wang, who angrily retorted that he treated Ji Mo as a brother, but Ji Mo treated him as a puppet, vowing "we'll see about that."
Concerned by Wing Fashion's crisis, Du Guruonan learned from Samantha that Zhao Yucheng was behind the manipulation and sought out Zhao Yucheng. She directly asked if he was behind Wing Fashion's problems. Zhao Yucheng admitted it, clarifying his target was Ji Mo, not the company, as Ji Mo had hurt two women he cared about: Su Xiao and Du Guruonan herself. He demanded Ji Mo pay the price.
Du Guruonan asked what it would take for him to stop, and Zhao Yucheng shockingly replied he would stop if she agreed to be with him. Du Guruonan scorned him for treating love as a transaction, calling him a "loser." Zhao Yucheng confessed his frustration, stating that while he always got what he wanted, Du Guruonan was the one person who made him lose control. He forcefully declared she would be his.
Du Guruonan firmly rejected him, stating she wouldn't give him a chance because of Ji Mo. Zhao Yucheng then highlighted Ji Mo's vulnerable position, with the board questioning him and the stock plummeting, suggesting Ji Mo had no chance. He reiterated his offer: be with him, and he would let Ji Mo go.
Du Guruonan dismissed his offer as a "childish act," declared that even if Ji Mo lost, she would stand by him, and that Ji Mo would never lose to Zhao Yucheng. She affirmed that Ji Mo's stance was her stance, making them enemies if he opposed Ji Mo.
Du Guruonan then went to Wing Fashion and told Ji Mo that she knew his company was in serious trouble and that Zhao Yucheng had offered to spare him if she was with him, which she had refused. She pledged to stay by his side through the difficulties.
