Ji Mo sought out Du Guruonan, hoping for reconciliation. Du Guruonan questioned why he was there, stating there was no need to meet. Ji Mo confessed he missed her and didn't want to cause her trouble, but his heart couldn't stop thinking of her. Du Guruonan accused him of having a "spacious heart" that could accommodate two women.

Ji Mo acknowledged that the "Su Xiao matter" was like a thorn for her, but insisted he hadn't betrayed her and merely wanted to fulfill what he owed Su Xiao. Du Guruonan challenged him, asking if his conscience was truly clear, and reminded him that she had trusted him and given him chances before.

She then clarified that "he" was the thorn in her heart, which she was now determined to remove to avoid future disappointment and sadness caused by him. Ji Mo then revealed he had to spend time with Su Xiao for undisclosed unavoidable reasons, which he couldn't reveal due to a promise. Du Guruonan, exasperated, said she was tired of their secrets and past. She told him to be with Su Xiao and begged him to stop coming to her.

Later, Ji Mo confided in Ai Li, expressing his misery. Ai Li observed that men process breakups differently than women, experiencing pain later after accepting the facts, while women tend to vent quickly and then move on to a new life. He noted that Du Guruonan, despite her tough exterior, was soft inside and, once she decided to leave, she would never look back.

Meanwhile, Lu Zong was highly impressed with Si Da's performance in the new drama, remarking that his online popularity and viewership rivaled that of Song Zihao. Consequently, Lu Zong decided to position Si Da in the center of promotional posters and focus all upcoming publicity efforts on him.

Du Guruonan disagreed with this decision, concerned about negative reports of internal competition between Si Da and Song Zihao, both artists from the same company, especially as Si Da was in his rising career phase. To her surprise, Si Da openly accepted Lu Zong's proposal, stating his ability to handle the pressure and his unwillingness to miss this opportunity. He reminded Du Guruonan that he was her artist now, not Song Zihao.

After Lu Zong left, praising Si Da's ambition, Shen Qiansha asked Si Da why he had contradicted Du Guruonan. Si Da confessed that he had changed, fueled by a strong desire to become famous and a top-tier actor. He hated his past self, who was too weak and passive, which led to failure and hurt for those around him, especially Du Guruonan.

He declared his intent to pursue everything he wanted in both love and career to be a man worthy of Du Guruonan and protect her, even if it meant abandoning everyone else, including Shen Qiansha. At the hospital, nurses gossiped about Ai Li's breakup with Chen Fei'er. Ai Li received a call from his mother, reluctantly agreeing to a blind date.

Chen Fei'er learned of the blind date and rushed to the restaurant, where she found Ai Li with Lin Jia, his blind date. Lin Jia mocked Chen Fei'er, accusing her of only showing interest in Ai Li when someone else was involved, comparing her behavior to "canine instinct." Ai Li pulled Chen Fei'er outside and, after careful thought, definitively told her that they were fundamentally incompatible, like two parallel lines whose paths only crossed due to a "calculation error."

He expressed that he was content with their current separation, allowing them both to return to their own lives. He also told Chen Fei'er he was satisfied with Lin Jia and was ready to forget her. Chen Fei'er, believing he still harbored feelings for her, offered to retract their breakup if he would apologize. She warned him this was his last chance.

However, Ai Li firmly stated that he no longer cared for her, that his caring had no value to her, and that he did not need her pity or another chance. He declared he was tired of being her constant companion, driver, and worrier, refusing to be at her beck and call anymore. He officially ended their relationship, leaving Chen Fei'er to bitterly tell him he would regret it.

Back inside, Lin Jia apologized for the awkward scene, but then revealed her true age to Ai Li (26, not 23 as her mother had stated). Impressed by his honesty, she playfully suggested they try dating, even inviting him to go clubbing. Ai Li declined. A flashback showed Ai Li's intense devotion to Chen Fei'er in the past, where he promised to love her and stay by her side regardless of her past or what others thought.

Su Xiao appeared severely weakened by illness. Zhao Yucheng discovered her medicine bottle and immediately took her to the hospital, arranging for her admission and treatment. He then confronted Ji Mo over the phone, accusing him of concealing Su Xiao's relapse. Ji Mo defended Su Xiao, explaining she had wanted to hide her condition from Zhao Yucheng to spare him pain and avoid being treated as a patient.

He insisted he had been caring for her and finding the best doctors. Zhao Yucheng angrily blamed Ji Mo for Su Xiao's emotional distress and subsequent relapse, holding him responsible. Ji Mo accepted his share of responsibility but countered that Zhao Yucheng also bore some blame for Su Xiao's current state. Zhao Yucheng declared that no one cared more for Su Xiao than he did and pleaded with Ji Mo to stop hurting her.

Following this confrontation, Zhao Yucheng secretly contacted Wang Zong. Wang Zong complained that Ji Mo's return, coupled with Su Xiao's backing, had led to an audit of the company's accounts, threatening to expose his illicit activities. Zhao Yucheng then informed Wang Zong that he had changed his strategy and would now dictate the terms. He vowed to completely destroy Ji Mo's reputation and career, ensuring he would never recover.

Tong Tong, despite Song Zihao facing widespread negative public opinion, insisted on scheduling him for several major variety shows. Her colleague questioned this decision, fearing it would push Song Zihao to the forefront of public controversy and further intensify public backlash. Tong Tong, however, dismissed these concerns, asserting her authority as the talent director and criticizing the department for opportunism, accusing them of abandoning Song Zihao now that Si Da was popular.

She boasted that when Song Zihao was popular, Si Da was an unknown extra, and Si Da's current popularity was temporary. She reiterated that she was in charge and her decisions must be followed. Shen Qiansha confronted Tong Tong, accusing her of "profiting from others' misery" by exploiting Song Zihao for financial gain while disregarding his health.

Tong Tong retorted that Shen Qiansha, as a former assistant and a "rich girl," had no right to lecture her and couldn't get what she wanted, advising her to be more pragmatic. Shen Qiansha fired back, attributing Song Zihao's current downfall to Tong Tong's lack of pragmatism and holding her accountable. Tong Tong defiantly told Shen Qiansha to "wait and see," to which Shen Qiansha declared Tong Tong had already lost.

Later, news broke that Song Zihao had abruptly left a reality show taping mid-production. Shen Qiansha shared the alarming news with Du Guruonan. Du Guruonan, deeply concerned by Song Zihao's uncharacteristic behavior, felt a bad premonition. Song Zihao was then shown at his home, drinking heavily and despairing over negative online comments, convinced that he was no longer liked by the public and was losing his star status. Du Guruonan called him, noticing the strange quality of his voice.

With what little consciousness he had left, Song Zihao told her that becoming her artist was the best decision of his life, and that he regretted trusting Tong Tong initially, before falling unconscious. Du Guruonan and Shen Qiansha rushed to his apartment. Shen Qiansha used her access code to enter, and they found Song Zihao collapsed amidst empty pill bottles. Du Guruonan immediately called for an ambulance.

At the hospital, the doctor confirmed that Song Zihao was out of critical danger but stated he was suffering from severe depression and required regular antidepressant medication. The doctor expressed concern that no one had informed them of his condition and questioned how he was allowed to participate in a reality show the day before, warning that emotional triggers or a lack of medication could lead to extreme actions. Du Guruonan blamed herself for not noticing Song Zihao's struggles sooner.

Tong Tong arrived and tried to dismiss Du Guruonan and Shen Qiansha, asserting her authority as Song Zihao's manager and demanding they leave. Du Guruonan furiously accused Tong Tong of being inhumane, exploiting a sick artist for profit. Tong Tong defiantly reminded Du Guruonan that she was the one who abandoned Song Zihao first, and his illness was his own problem.

Enraged, Du Guruonan slapped Tong Tong, declaring it was for Song Zihao, and threatened her if anything happened to him. Tong Tong then openly called Song Zihao "useless" and questioned his value before leaving. Du Guruonan remained by Song Zihao's side until he awoke, and he asked her to help him sit up.
