Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 32 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recap
Du Guruonan successfully persuaded Manager Lu to agree to promote the new drama. She explained that she could leverage her extensive network and resources to handle the publicity, which was struggling due to budget constraints after casting Song Zihao. Her condition was that Si Da should be prominently featured in the promotional materials.
Manager Lu initially expressed concerns about his existing agreement with Tong Tong, but Du Guruonan cleverly highlighted the potential long-term damage to his professional relationships if he didn't cooperate. She clarified that her request for additional promotional featurettes and personal clips for Si Da wouldn't violate his agreement with Tong Tong, presenting it as a win-win solution. Manager Lu agreed, impressed by her thoroughness.
As Du Guruonan departed, Manager Lu remarked on her changed, softer negotiation style, teasing if she was in love, a question she pondered herself. Meanwhile, Shen Qiansha was busy selecting costumes for Si Da when she was startled to discover Song Zihao hiding in a garment bag. She scolded him for his reckless behavior, especially for skipping filming and risking exposure to fans and paparazzi.
Song Zihao, however, apologized, admitting he felt lonely and had missed her, claiming she was the first person he thought of in his chaotic and boring life. He playfully insisted she should accompany him, but Shen Qiansha reminded him it was work hours and urged him to return to the set, even threatening to take him back herself. As they argued, they realized fans were searching for Song Zihao downstairs.
With no other option, Song Zihao grabbed Shen Qiansha's hand, counted to three, and they made a dash to escape the pursuing fans. Once safe, Song Zihao teased her about being shy from his touch, but Shen Qiansha denied it, claiming she was simply unaccustomed to being pulled along. Despite her outward annoyance and calling his behavior "disgusting," she later found herself wondering why her heart was racing, quickly dismissing the idea that it could be because of Song Zihao.
Later, Du Guruonan arrived at Wing Fashion and saw Ji Mo and Samantha being interviewed. When a reporter questioned Samantha about her relationship with Ji Mo, Ji Mo quickly intervened. He clarified that his relationship with Samantha was purely professional, then dramatically pulled Du Guruonan into the room, declaring her as his official girlfriend to the press. The reporters were surprised by this public announcement, which addressed previous rumors of their breakup.
Ji Mo openly stated he had long wanted to make their relationship public. Samantha, visibly disappointed, managed to maintain composure and see the reporters out. Inside, she later witnessed Ji Mo and Du Guruonan embracing in the office, leaving her deeply unsettled. That evening, Samantha gazed at a portrait of Ji Mo, tearfully regretting her past decision to reject his marriage proposal. At the same time, Ji Mo took Du Guruonan to the riverside.
As they looked out at the night cityscape, Du Guruonan confided in him about her past struggles with trust in relationships, her fear of dependence, and her reluctance to openly ask for security. She expressed gratitude that with him, she felt understood and protected, finally unafraid to rely on someone. Ji Mo affirmed his love, telling her she was his "armor and weakness" too.
Their intimate moment was interrupted by a phone call from Zhao Yucheng, informing Ji Mo that Samantha was missing. Ji Mo's expression turned serious, and despite Du Guruonan's questions about his relationship with Samantha and who called, he insisted he had to go, promising to explain upon his return. Samantha had sent him a message asking him to meet her at the amusement park carousel, the site of his past proposal to her.
When Ji Mo arrived, Samantha was happy, believing his presence indicated he still cared. However, Ji Mo firmly stated he was there because he didn't want her to suffer or for him to live with lifelong guilt and endure further harassment from her brother, all of which would damage his current relationship with Du Guruonan. He reiterated that their past was over, like the merry-go-round that could not turn back, and they couldn't restart.
To definitively end any lingering hope, Ji Mo left the engagement ring on the carousel and departed. Upon returning home, Ji Mo called out for Du Guruonan, only to find she was gone. He left a voicemail, apologizing and reassuring her that things weren't as they seemed and that everything with Samantha was "over."
However, Du Guruonan was already with Chen Fei'er, who advised her not to respond to Ji Mo, urging her to make him realize the gravity of his actions. Du Guruonan, anxious and confused by Ji Mo's cryptic message, initially wanted an explanation. Later, Ji Mo, accompanied by Ai Li, went to a jewelry store to pick out a unique diamond ring, intending to propose to Du Guruonan.
He expressed his determination to formalize their relationship now that "Su Xiao's matter is settled." However, before he could, Samantha, revealing her Chinese name as Su Xiao, deliberately confronted Du Guruonan. She showed Du Guruonan the unique engagement ring, claiming it was the one Ji Mo had given her when he proposed. Du Guruonan, stunned, questioned if Su Xiao wasn't dead.
Samantha cryptically replied that being forgotten by a loved one was a form of death but affirmed she was very much alive. She admitted she had intentionally approached Du Guruonan out of curiosity about the woman who replaced her, even thanking her for helping Ji Mo move on. Yet, she openly declared her true intention: to win Ji Mo back and reclaim his love for "Su Xiao."
Du Guruonan realized she had been kept in the dark about Ji Mo's past. She confronted Ji Mo as he arrived, accusing him of concealing the truth about Samantha's identity and past connection. Samantha then told Du Guruonan that she didn't know Ji Mo well enough, hinting that Du Guruonan was not a strong enough opponent.
Ji Mo, now alone with Du Guruonan on the rooftop where they first met, tried to propose, expressing his deep love and how she had healed him and made him embrace true feelings. He reiterated that he couldn't wait to make her his. However, Du Guruonan was unmoved. She angrily confronted him for hiding the truth about Su Xiao being alive and her identity, accusing him of complicity in Samantha's deception.
She emphasized that honesty was the fundamental respect in a relationship and that she didn't want his protection, only the truth. Du Guruonan felt betrayed, pointing out that Ji Mo's past with Samantha was clearly not over, especially since Samantha still possessed his proposal ring. Despite Ji Mo's fervent assurances that he had rejected Samantha and his feelings for Du Guruonan were unwavering, Du Guruonan declared that both he and Samantha had used "love" to deceive.
She proposed they take some time apart to cool off and decide what they truly wanted. Ji Mo returned home dejected, telling Ai Li and Chen Fei'er that he had "lost Ruonan." Chen Fei'er strongly criticized Ji Mo, calling him selfish for involving himself with an ex while in a new relationship, and slammed him for making Du Guruonan feel like a fool.
She emphasized that love was a battlefield and that his "white moonlight" ex had returned with aggressive intentions, which Ji Mo should have foreseen. Ji Mo expressed deep regret, confessing he was consumed by thoughts of Du Guruonan and pleaded for their help to win her back. Meanwhile, Du Guruonan stayed overnight in her office, ignoring Ji Mo's calls.
Si Da found her there, noticed the smell of hotpot, and realized she had been crying and was upset, even though she tried to hide it. Chen Fei'er later found Du Guruonan, who continued to express her anger and disappointment at Ji Mo's actions, feeling he was no different from other men entangled in their past relationships.
