Du Guruonan shared her philosophy on love and finances with Zhao Yucheng, stating she would not marry for wealth but would strive for it to support love, as love itself cannot be bought and is therefore precious. Zhao Yucheng remarked that her "bread love theory" was interesting, but then commented that she reminded him of a girl he once knew who held similar views and loved unconditionally despite opposition.

Du Guruonan's words stirred deep anger in Zhao Yucheng as he recalled the man who caused that girl unhappiness. When Du Guruonan asked if that girl found happiness, Zhao Yucheng replied she did not, and the man had since moved on and forgotten her. Du Guruonan argued that if the man truly loved her, forgetting would be difficult, and dwelling on the past only brought self-torment.

Zhao Yucheng vehemently disagreed, insisting the man had no right to forget or to love anyone else. Du Guruonan noted his unusual emotional state, prompting him to apologize for losing his composure. She reassured him, saying it made him seem more "real." Meanwhile, Wing Fashion discovered a major design leak. An employee informed Ji Mo that Zhang Le had resigned abruptly, and his whereabouts were unknown.

Ji Mo, having observed Zhang Le as an "introverted and thoughtful" individual prone to "digging into the bottom of the line," sensed trouble. Soon after, it was confirmed that Ruiqi Group had launched a Gao Ding series identical to Wing Fashion's upcoming Venus Creative Event designs, indicating that Zhang Le had leaked internal design plans and subsequently joined Ruiqi.

During an urgent meeting, an executive expressed concern that the new product line would be "completely aborted," leading to significant financial losses and damage to Wing Fashion's "corporate image." He proposed a "two-pronged approach" of legal action and accelerated production. However, Ji Mo countered, suggesting they "stop production" entirely and "redesign." He argued that rushing production would compromise quality and that Ruiqi's prior launch made a synchronous release impossible.

Ji Mo dismissed Ruiqi's copied designs as mere "copycat" work that "can't be the climate." He instructed the legal department to prepare a lawsuit against Zhang Le, but to delay filing until Wing Fashion's new designs were in production, in order to appear "magnanimous" and limit negative media attention. Board members praised his strategy, though some felt Ruiqi was deliberately targeting them.

Later that day, Si Da called Ji Mo, expressing concern about Zhao Yucheng's frequent interactions with Du Guruonan, worrying she might be deceived. Si Da mentioned Zhao Yucheng was taking Du Guruonan to dinner, making Ji Mo anxious. At the restaurant, Du Guruonan attempted to discuss Si Da's album promotion with Zhao Yucheng, but he preferred to keep the dinner separate from work. Du Guruonan persisted, highlighting the potential for Si Da to become a spokesperson.

Zhao Yucheng complimented her as a dedicated agent, then unexpectedly offered to invest in her if she ever considered starting her own business, seeing her as a "good investment project." Du Guruonan politely declined, expressing loyalty to her current boss and company, which she believed offered excellent resources for Si Da. Zhao Yucheng, undeterred, stated he didn't want to remain "just casual acquaintances" and wished to "get to know her better."

After dinner, Zhao Yucheng escorted Du Guruonan home and asked her to be his girlfriend. She gently rejected him, explaining she saw him only as a "work partner." Zhao Yucheng gracefully accepted her initial refusal, stating they had plenty of time and he would respect her final decision after she knew him better. As Du Guruonan headed upstairs, Ji Mo appeared and confronted Zhao Yucheng, demanding to know his intentions with Du Guruonan.

Zhao Yucheng brazenly stated his aim was to "torture" Ji Mo and ensure he would "never forget Su Xiao." Ji Mo conceded he had let Su Xiao down, but lashed out at Zhao Yucheng for criticizing him while simultaneously pursuing Du Guruonan after having "taken Su Xiao away" from him years prior. Zhao Yucheng retorted that Ji Mo's love for Su Xiao was beyond his comprehension.

He admitted his initial interest in Du Guruonan was "because of you," and that "the more you care about her, the more interested I am in her." Ji Mo, furious, warned Zhao Yucheng that if he was using Du Guruonan for revenge, he would not let him go and vowed to protect her. Zhao Yucheng then surprised Ji Mo by asking if he had considered that he might "really be in love with Du Guruonan."

He reiterated that while his initial pursuit was linked to Ji Mo, he would never harm her. He then accused Ji Mo of being the one hurting Du Guruonan, asserting that Ji Mo, having "failed Su Xiao," should leave Du Guruonan and had no right to ruin her life too, concluding that Ji Mo "doesn't deserve to love her."

Ji Mo defended his past relationship with Su Xiao as private, but Zhao Yucheng then delivered a shocking revelation: "Because Su Xiao is my sister. My most beloved sister." Zhao Yucheng and Su Xiao were from a reconstructed family; though not biological siblings, their bond was stronger. He recounted vowing to protect Su Xiao forever but claimed Ji Mo "ruined it" by not trusting her or seeing her lies, despite being a psychologist.

He fiercely declared Ji Mo "doesn't deserve Su Xiao" and "doesn't deserve Ruonan," vowing to make sure Su Xiao would never be "just a passer-by" in Ji Mo's life. Ji Mo was visibly stunned and offered an apology, but Zhao Yucheng insisted he should apologize to Su Xiao instead, repeating his vow to never let Ji Mo go. Zhao Yucheng blamed Ji Mo for Su Xiao's death. Later that night, Chen Fei'er, regretting her actions, confided in Du Guruonan, crying.

She admitted to firing Ai Li out of her "fear of the past"—specifically, her terror of gaining weight, losing popularity, and failing as a supermodel. She described herself as "selfish" and "vain," and explained her harshness towards Ai Li stemmed from the "intimacy" of their relationship, allowing her to act "unscrupulously." She denied being in love with Ai Li, saying he was just a friend and not her type, but she enjoyed their friendship.

The conversation then shifted to Ji Mo, whom Chen Fei'er also criticized for his inconsistent behavior towards Du Guruonan. Chen Fei'er then revealed the painful truth: "Ji Mo's ex-girlfriend, Su Xiao, is dead." Du Guruonan was shocked, admitting she had considered many possibilities for Ji Mo's distance but not this. She expressed regret for her harsh words, realizing Ji Mo was "punishing himself," living in "pain and memories," and "refusing all possibilities of love."

Chen Fei'er suggested Ji Mo might have kept it secret to make Du Guruonan give up. She warned Du Guruonan about the futility of trying to help someone who doesn't want it, and cautioned her against "competing with the dead," as the deceased's "best look" is forever fixed in memory, a battle Du Guruonan "will lose." Meanwhile, Ai Li and Ji Mo were seen together, drowning their sorrows in alcohol, lamenting their respective relationship woes.

Undeterred by Chen Fei'er's warnings, Du Guruonan decided to confront Ji Mo. Du Guruonan found Ji Mo sitting behind a glass door. He noted her presence, reminding her that she had said she didn't want to see him. She explained she knew everything about Su Xiao's death, his pain, and his self-punishment. She admitted that learning about Su Xiao had initially made her want to retreat, fearing she couldn't replace her.

However, for the sake of love, she wanted to be brave again. Acknowledging his deep emotional wound, she offered to stay by his side and accompany him until his "wound slowly heals," asking for "another chance." Ji Mo thanked her but stated he couldn't predict when his wound would heal and therefore couldn't let her wait indefinitely.

He explained he had already hurt one woman and could not bear to hurt her too, suggesting she deserved a "good man" who would treat her well without requiring her to change or compromise. Du Guruonan pressed him, asking if he was rejecting her and if he had thought it through, emphasizing that she was not the kind of person who "will repeat what I just said a second time."

Ji Mo then told her to leave, wanting her to remain "the Ruonan who made my heart pound and made me proud" in his memory. The next day, Du Guruonan arrived at work to find her colleagues admiring her. She soon discovered that Zhao Yucheng had sent her a large bouquet of "gradient tulips," described as "rare varieties" air-shipped from Holland, worth a significant amount. Her colleagues commented on his "fierce pursuit," and speculated that no woman could resist.

Zhao Yucheng called Du Guruonan, asking if she liked the flowers. She expressed her embarrassment, but he explained that while flowers might be "vulgar" to some, these specific tulips were a "confession" and marked "the first day I pursue you," meant to express his feelings. Si Da, seeing the flowers in Du Guruonan's office, was dismayed, especially when colleagues teased him about Du Guruonan potentially becoming Zhao Yucheng's girlfriend, implying his own potential gain from Ruiqi's endorsement.

Later, Du Guruonan presented a new, detailed publicity plan for Si Da, likening promoting an artist to "a man pursuing a woman" who must seize the right timing and approach to "take him down in one fell swoop." Si Da reacted with discomfort, admitting to feeling pressure, fearing Du Guruonan would "really be chased away by Zhao Yucheng." At Wing Fashion's production facility, Ji Mo discovered a batch of fabrics was not what he ordered.

The purchasing manager insisted he had personally procured and inspected the initial materials, but admitted to not "looking closely" at subsequent batches, unaware the supplier would "adulterate" the order by mixing real silk with chemical fiber silk. Ji Mo, recognizing the distinct tactile differences, angrily declared that the fabrics were substandard. Despite subordinates' concerns about the "huge losses" from redoing the order and delaying delivery, Ji Mo furiously demanded they "Withdraw" and "Redo it."

He firmly stated he would not allow the inferior fabrics to enter the market, which would harm Wing Fashion's "reputation and quality" and potentially cause allergic reactions. He asserted his philosophy was to "educate people," not "harm people." Alan, surprised by Ji Mo's intense anger, noted he rarely lost his temper, but Ji Mo dismissed his questions, saying they "don't understand what this means to me." Shen Qiansha continued her relentless pursuit of Si Da.

He grew increasingly frustrated, warning her to stop following him on the bus and dismissing her attempts as meaningless given her access to a private car. Undeterred, Shen Qiansha chased the bus in her luxury vehicle. At a red light, she caught up, leaned out of her car window, loudly confessed her love for Si Da, and then impulsively kissed him through the glass.

Later, in an elevator, Shen Qiansha cornered Si Da, demanding a response to her confession and their kiss. Si Da explicitly rejected her, stating he did not like her. When she speculated it was because she had taken his first kiss, he became agitated, revealing he suffered from "heterosexual interaction disorder" and vehemently told her to stay away. Suddenly, Si Da collapsed. Du Guruonan, arriving on the scene, immediately questioned Shen Qiansha about what she had done to Si Da. Shen Qiansha initially claimed "nothing," but then admitted, "I just kissed him," leaving Du Guruonan utterly shocked.
