Wangquan Fugui, his hair now white and his eyes blazing with fierce intent, confronted Quan Jingting. Their clash of dragon powers caused the very earth to tremble. Fugui unleashed the potent Purest Sun Flame, threatening to reduce Quan Jingting to ashes, before finally impaling him with the Wangquan Sword, ending the life of the man he deemed unworthy of being Rumu's father.

Afterwards, at Rumu's tomb, Wangquan Fugui observed a Dragon Crystal dissipate, confirming his somber realization that Long Weiyun had followed Rumu into the afterlife. He quietly wished for them to find peace and reunion, knowing Quan Jingting had received his just retribution. Madam Black Fox's clone, Jiuwei, then appeared, relishing in Fugui's raw anger and grief, claiming such emotions made him easier to manipulate.

She transported him into an illusion, challenging him on how it felt to exact revenge and asserting that hatred had taken root in his heart. Jiuwei preached that love only led to destruction, pointing to the tragic ends of Steward Fei, who died for loyalty; Quan Rumu, who perished due to jealousy and hatred; and Long Weiyun, who succumbed to her devotion.

She urged Fugui to embrace hatred as the ultimate power, break the established circle, and unite with Madam Black Fox to rule the world. Fugui, however, scorned her, declaring that a mere clone had no right to discuss his life or control his will, and that he made his own choices regarding good and evil. Despite dispelling the illusion, Jiuwei had already infiltrated his body, visibly altering his appearance.

Returning to Wangquan Manor, a fierce internal battle raged within Wangquan Fugui. His conscience struggled against the invading Dragon Qi clashing with his spiritual blood, but the transformed Fugui embraced his new appearance, questioning the value of rules and righteousness that failed to protect his loved ones. Jiuwei's whispers persisted, insisting his heart was tainted with hatred and he would soon belong to Madam Black Fox.

An internal debate ensued: one side questioned the efficacy of killing the Black Fox if darkness persisted in human hearts, while the other scoffed at the Black Fox's past failures and painted both Fugui and the Black Fox as products of human darkness. The corrupted self proposed that Fugui should become the supreme ruler, controlling all and subjugating even the Black Fox.

When his benevolent side expressed concern over the lives that would be lost, the corrupted self dismissed it, stating that soft-heartedness saved no one, a lesson his father had supposedly imparted. It furiously proclaimed its own righteousness, advocating for absolute dominance and demanding they "break the circle together." The darker persona ultimately prevailed, concluding with the mantra: "Killing to end violence—this should be my Way." Wangquan Fugui then arrived at Qianji City.

He immediately declared the disbandment of Zelan Hall, ordering its students to leave within three days. When Little Bun affectionately greeted him, Fugui coldly pushed him aside. He also harshly disciplined Jiang Bo for questioning his authority and the dissolution of Zelan Hall. Fugui then commanded Jiang Bo to reopen Asura Hall and retrieve the Soul-Devouring Umbrella, a forbidden artifact that absorbed spiritual energy.

Despite Jiang Bo's protests about the umbrella being sealed by the city's governor, Fugui threatened death for disobedience, promising dragon power to those who complied. A distraught Qingtong soon appeared, horrified to see the Soul-Devouring Umbrella. She desperately warned Fugui against using such evil items, recalling her past admonitions and predicting severe backlash. Unmoved, Fugui declared he feared no backlash, as he had "no taboos."

Qingtong, realizing the depth of his transformation, urged him to leave Qianji City, stating it was no longer his familiar sanctuary. Jiang Bo, though reluctant, instructed his subordinates to obey Fugui's orders, acknowledging they had no choice given his immense power. He reported to Fugui that a group of evil demons had been captured for Asura Hall, their powers to be extracted into spirit pearls.

When informed it would take time to separate the demons' cries of agony from the pearls, Fugui coldly ordered that the cries remain, stating someone would surely enjoy them. Meanwhile, Madam Black Fox, pleased with Fugui's growing hatred, saw an opportunity to advance her schemes, instructing Jiuwei to manipulate a specific individual. Using his newfound power, Wangquan Fugui then summoned Fan Yunfei to Qianji City.

Fan Yunfei was visibly shocked by Fugui's altered appearance, yet pledged his continued loyalty against the Black Fox, even tentatively questioning the nature of the Soul-Devouring Umbrella. Fugui, with a cold demeanor, reminded Fan Yunfei of a past favor and demanded immediate repayment. Without warning, Fugui attacked Fan Yunfei, forcibly extracting the Water-Control Orb from him. A wounded and heartbroken Fan Yunfei demanded an explanation.

Fugui chillingly explained that he had realized goodness could not triumph over evil, and that neither of them possessed the ruthlessness of the Black Fox. Fan Yunfei, refusing to believe this, offered the Water-Control Orb only if Fugui revealed the true reason for his transformation. Qingtong arrived, witnessing Fan Yunfei's anguish.

When Fan Yunfei pleaded with her for an answer, she insisted there was "no reason" other than what he had seen and urged him to leave immediately to save his life. Fan Yunfei, however, defiantly refused to abandon Fugui, offering his own life if Fugui truly intended to follow the Black Fox's path. Fugui, growing impatient, dismissively ordered both of them to "get lost." Enraged by their continued defiance, Wangquan Fugui then struck Qingtong with his sword.

He demanded to know why she remained, scornfully calling her weak and a burden, and ordered her to leave, reminding her that "pets shouldn't disobey their owners." Qingtong, deeply wounded and with a cold heart, declared that Fugui had given her the name "Qingtong" and taught her swordsmanship so she would never be anyone's accessory or pet. She asserted that he was "no longer that Young Master Fugui" and resolutely turned to leave.

Back in the Western Regions, a distraught Fan Yunfei struggled with the pain and confusion over Wangquan Fugui's drastic change. Li Xueyang comforted him, acknowledging his sorrow. She then immediately dispatched a subordinate to send word to Feng Tingyun, alerting her that the "Soldier's heart has changed" and advising her to "make preparations early." Far away, Feng Tingyun gazed at the dark night sky, murmuring to herself that her Senior Brother, Wangquan Fugui, had indeed "taken a different path."
