Forget You Remember Love Episode 9 Recap
> Forget You Remember Love Recap
The Chinese white dolphin, a national first-class protected animal and endangered species, holds the revered title of "aquatic giant panda." Proving its presence in Guanmei Fishing Village is crucial to halt Senwell's commercial development. On a cloudy day, with the dolphins unlikely to surface, Qianyu, Tonghao, and Taichu realize they must dive to find them.
Qianyu expresses concern because Tonghao cannot swim, but he reassures her that diving does not require swimming, and he has thoroughly researched the methods and precautions. Taichu initially offers to go alone, but Tonghao insists that two people working underwater would be faster, leaving one person, Qianyu, to wait on shore. Despite Qianyu’s worries about the danger, Tonghao assures her they will not venture into waters deeper than 25 meters, where white dolphins are not found.
Meanwhile, the villagers grow restless, observing Chen Jinzhi and Tang Shunming’s attempts to stall. As the situation threatens to spiral out of control, Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi arrive. Zhang Minghan, however, remains indifferent to Xu Ziqian’s previous agreement to grant Guanmei a one-month grace period, insisting the situation is under his control. The scene turns chaotic, with villagers throwing objects.
Tang Shunming courageously uses an umbrella to shield Chen Jinzhi and then takes the brunt of a thrown box, which severely injures him. As Chen Jinzhi helps him up, Tang Shunming passionately appeals to the villagers, emphasizing his reluctance to abandon Guanmei Fishing Village. He warns them that if Senwell transforms their home into a playground for the wealthy, they will lose everything and never be able to return. He believes Zhang Minghan is manipulating them with money.
Zhang Minghan, unfazed, pushes for immediate contract signings, while Xu Ziqian urges the villagers to take the contracts home and reconsider. With time running out, Tonghao and Taichu successfully capture video footage of the white dolphins. On their return, Tonghao suffers a fall, injuring his head. Despite Qianyu’s desperate plea to rescue him first, Tonghao insists she rush back with the crucial video to stop Senwell.
He imparts a vital lesson: in the face of an adversary, one must never show fear, but rather project an aura of invincibility and suppress the opponent with powerful confidence. Taichu supports Tonghao’s advice and offers to stay behind to help him. Qianyu, empowered by Tonghao's words, races to Guanmei Inn.
She confronts Zhang Minghan, presenting the white dolphin video and eloquently citing specific articles from the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Wildlife and Marine Environmental Protection, highlighting that Guanmei is a protected habitat where commercial development is forbidden. She warns Senwell of severe legal and reputational consequences if they proceed. Although Zhang Minghan questions the authenticity of the video and the village's qualification for a protection zone, he cannot ignore the legal implications.
An associate advises Zhang Minghan that if the white dolphin claim is true, development cannot proceed blindly. Qianyu then turns to the villagers, urging them to cherish Guanmei as their home and work to improve it rather than abandon it. Facing undeniable evidence and public pressure, Zhang Minghan reluctantly apologizes for the commotion and promises a satisfactory solution, effectively halting the demolition. The villagers erupt in joyous celebration, relieved that their home is saved.
Immediately after the crisis is averted, Qianyu calls Taichu and learns that Tonghao is in the hospital. She rushes there, frantically searching for Tonghao. A nurse informs her that the person "just delivered for rescue" is in the emergency room. As she sees a patient being wheeled out, and the doctor says they "did their best," Qianyu breaks down in tears, believing it is Tonghao.
She sobs, telling the unconscious patient that Guanmei is saved and everyone is waiting for him. Her anguish turns to overwhelming relief when Tonghao, bandaged but walking, calls her name from the corridor, accompanied by Taichu. Realizing her mistake, Qianyu apologizes to the wrong patient. Seeing her tears, Tonghao tenderly pulls her into a comforting embrace, with Taichu observing silently. Back in Guanmei, the community celebrates the trio’s success.
Privately, Tonghao learns from a doctor that his amnesia can be fully cured with surgery, offering a high success rate for him to regain his past life. He chooses not to share this with Qianyu. Later, sitting by the sea, Qianyu thanks Tonghao for everything. Tonghao, in turn, thanks her for accepting a "liar with no memory" and for not abandoning him.
Qianyu expresses her fear that if he regains his memory, he might forget everything in Guanmei, seeing it merely as a "passing scenery." Tonghao asks if she wants him to recover his memory, to which she truthfully replies, "I don't know." He then reassures her that whether he recovers his past memories is no longer important, as he has found new memories, people, and causes he cherishes in Guanmei.
He declares Guanmei his home, a place he is determined to protect, suggesting they let the future unfold naturally. Qianyu, however, muses that one cannot simply discard their past. Tonghao insists the past is behind them, and they should focus on living in the present. Qianyu imagines a "blank slate" life without memory, finding it could be filled with new experiences but might also bring loneliness.
Tonghao, in contrast, shares how his memory loss has given him a "lighthearted" feeling, allowing him to truly appreciate every gentle breeze and ray of sunshine in Guanmei. Meanwhile, at Senwell, an internal investigation confirms the presence of Chinese white dolphins in Guanmei Fishing Village. An associate informs Zhang Minghan that if Guanmei is designated as a protected area, a significant portion of their development plan will become unfeasible.
The development department begins calculating the modification costs and potential profit margins to determine if the project can still proceed. Despite the temporary resolution, Tonghao remains wary that Senwell will not abandon their plans. He intensifies staff training at Guanmei Inn, aiming to enhance its reputation through exceptional service. Qianyu, eager to make nutritious soup for Tonghao’s recovery, seeks guidance from the Master Chef. In her earnest, albeit clumsy, attempts, she cuts her finger while chopping onions.
Despite the Master Chef's offer to cook, Qianyu insists on making the soup herself. Tonghao later drinks a large bowl of her unappetizing "nutritious soup," claiming it's "very delicious," much to Qianyu's delight and the Master Chef's amusement, only to suffer severe diarrhea later. To further promote Guanmei Fishing Village and the inn, both Tonghao and Taichu independently propose organizing a photography exhibition, a cost-effective way to showcase the area's beauty and culture.
Tonghao suggests restoring old black-and-white photos from the inn to highlight Guanmei's rich history, and Qianyu enthusiastically begins preparations. They discuss guest invitations: Tonghao advocates for inviting media influencers, while Taichu proposes focusing on a single, authoritative travel writer who could generate significant publicity. Qianyu, unwilling to miss any opportunity, decides to invite guests from both lists.
Concurrently, a new challenge arises at Senwell: Mr. Wang of GQ Ventures is returning and insists on meeting Shan Junhao, whose prolonged absence threatens to derail critical projects and withdraw investments, especially with new suspicions stirred by the white dolphin discovery. Zhang Minghan confronts Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi, demanding to know the full truth about Shan Junhao's disappearance, citing his right as the General Manager for the company's benefit.
Fan Yunyi finally reveals that Shan Junhao vanished without a trace during their engagement ceremony and even missed his father’s funeral. She explains they kept it a secret to protect Senwell’s stability, expecting Zhang Minghan, as GM, to prioritize the company’s reputation. Xu Ziqian comforts a distressed Fan Yunyi, reminding her of Shan Junhao’s strong and resilient character, urging her not to lose hope in his return.
Fan Yunyi then reveals that Shan Junhao was in a car accident on his way to retrieve the engagement ring. Zhang Minghan, upon learning this, expresses sadness and pledges to manage Senwell effectively with Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi, honoring the wishes of Shan Yaolong and Shan Junhao. He ceases his aggressive stance against Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi. Back in Guanmei, Jinzhi Mama observes the deepening bond between Qianyu and Tonghao.
She gently, yet pointedly, warns Tonghao that while he has forgotten his past, the people from his former life have not. She raises the possibility that he might already have a girlfriend or even be married, asking him what would happen to Qianyu if he were to return to his original life. Tonghao reiterates that his memories currently only hold the present. Jinzhi Mama stresses that his connections to his past remain, urging him to consider the implications.
