Forget You Remember Love Episode 2 Recap
> Forget You Remember Love Recap
Fan Yunyi expressed her concern to Shan Junhao about him personally handling Tang Shunming's situation, which resulted in his injury. She asked him not to make her worry anymore, questioning why he had to resolve such a dangerous matter by himself. Shan Junhao, in turn, teased her about starting work at Senwell without informing him. Fan Yunyi explained that she wanted to be hired based on her own capabilities.
Shan Junhao playfully chided her, suggesting that being a low-rank manager might make others think the Shan family was mistreating his fiancée. Fan Yunyi playfully yet reprovingly pressed his newly bandaged wound, reminding him how dangerous his actions were, causing him to grimace in pain. As Shan Junhao reassured her that he was fine and the danger had passed, Mr. Zhang burst into the office without knocking, calling out Shan Junhao's name.
Mr. Zhang, the Vice General Manager, confronted Shan Junhao about the significant trouble he had caused as Senwell's General Manager and demanded to know how he planned to resolve it. Shan Junhao asked Fan Yunyi to leave, and she complied, responding to him as any ordinary employee would to their boss. Shan Junhao asserted that the incident was within a controllable range. Mr. Zhang retorted that even if the police weren't called, company gossip would spread.
He warned that if the media or competitors found out, Shan Junhao would have to explain himself to the board. Shan Junhao dismissed Mr. Zhang's concern, stating it was his own responsibility. He then reminded Mr. Zhang about the Malaysian project he was overseeing, which had made no progress, subtly suggesting Mr. Zhang should focus on his own responsibilities to the board instead. Ye Qianyu brought Tang Shunming back to Guanmei.
Her mother, Chen Jinzhi, immediately began scolding Tang Shunming, asking if he was crippled or blind for needing Ye Qianyu to pick him up. She asserted that Ye Qianyu was her daughter, not his free labor. Tang Shunming and Chen Jinzhi, a divorced couple, were accustomed to quarreling whenever they met. Seeing their argument erupt again, Ye Qianyu, used to their bickering, put on her earphones to listen to music.
Tang Shunming retaliated by calling Chen Jinzhi a "blabbing old woman" and predicting her tongue would rot. Chen Jinzhi dared him to repeat it, but Ye Qianyu quickly intervened, stating Tang Shunming was in a bad mood and suggesting they go deliver goods. Chen Jinzhi then turned her anger on Ye Qianyu, calling her ungrateful for siding with Tang, given that she lived under her roof. Tang Shunming defended Ye Qianzhi, telling Chen Jinzhi to speak kindly to the child.
Chen Jinzhi responded that Ye Qianyu was her child and none of his business, suggesting he should have his own children to yell at. Tang Shunming then alluded to Chen Jinzhi's past infidelity, questioning how she became pregnant with Ye Shengzhe after a "light bulb errand" with a "curly-haired foreigner," when they hadn't conceived during their marriage.
Chen Jinzhi vehemently denied the accusation, insisting she was only changing a light bulb, and declared that divorcing him was the best decision she had ever made. Later, Ye Qianyu informed Chen Jinzhi that Guanmei Hotel was slated for demolition. Hearing this, Chen Jinzhi expressed genuine concern for Tang Shunming, wondering why he would consider suicide over a building and lamenting that he would lose everything if he died.
Her son, Ye Shengzhe, noticed her concern for Tang, but Chen Jinzhi immediately denied it, claiming she had enough to worry about with her own children and that Tang was nothing to her. While delivering water to Dreamer, Ye Qianyu heard a beautiful piano melody. She discovered a young man, Taichu, playing her late mother’s favorite song on what used to be her mother's piano. The shop owner reminded Ye Qianyu that the piano now belonged to the store.
Ye Qianyu pleaded with Taichu not to buy it, as it was her mother’s heirloom. Taichu clarified that he was just passing by and trying it out, with no intention of purchasing it. Upon realizing Taichu was new to Guanmei, Ye Qianyu enthusiastically offered her services as a tour guide, water delivery person, errand runner, and hourly worker, boasting about her fair prices and 20% discount for bundled services.
Despite the shop owner’s protests, Ye Qianyu also increased the price of the water card for her. After Ye Qianyu left, the shop owner warned Taichu that Ye Qianyu was Guanmei's "con artist" and advised him to protect his wallet when encountering her. Arriving at Guanmei Hotel, Ye Qianyu couldn't find Tang Shunming, and the staff hadn't seen him all day, worrying that he might attempt something foolish again. She took a cleaning staff's card key to search the rooms.
As she opened one door, she unexpectedly walked in on Taichu, who had just showered and was bare-chested, leading to an awkward encounter. Ye Qianyu, desperate to reach Tang Shunming's room, attempted to jump from Taichu's balcony, but he stopped her, offering to go down himself. While Ye Qianyu and the staff prepared to saw open Tang Shunming's door, he suddenly returned. He explained he had been in the storeroom.
Seeing the concern and the guest who had climbed in from the balcony, Tang Shunming understood their worry. He reassured everyone that he now realized killing himself wouldn't save Guanmei Hotel and promised not to do anything foolish again. Shan Junhao's father expressed concern about his son's aggressive approach to the Guanmei project, but Shan Junhao confidently stated he would not undertake anything he wasn't certain about.
His father warned him that his rashness could lead to trouble, especially with Zhang Minghan eyeing his General Manager position. He urged Shan Junhao not to give Zhang Minghan any opportunities. Moments later, Xu Ziqian arrived, apologizing for his delay. Shan's mother, who had prepared dinner, inquired why Fan Yunyi had taken a demotion from Creative Director at Heteng to a manager at Senwell.
Fan Yunyi explained her desire to advance on her own merit, a sentiment supported by Xu Ziqian, who believed her capabilities would soon earn her a director position. Shan Junhao reiterated that Senwell maintained strict management, and promotion required passing rigorous assessments, even for her. Shan's mother then suggested Xu Ziqian move back home, but Fan Yunyi joked that he was accustomed to his freedom, especially for "two-person world" convenience if he had a girlfriend.
Xu Ziqian fell silent for a few seconds. Shan's mother then announced the main reason for the gathering: she and Shan's father had set Shan Junhao and Fan Yunyi's engagement date for the following month. This news clearly saddened Xu Ziqian. As they prepared to toast, Fan Yunyi interjected, stating that she did not want to marry Shan Junhao at present, then excused herself to the kitchen to fetch soup.
Later, Xu Ziqian found Fan Yunyi upset and tried to cheer her up with candy, noting that he was always the one who comforted her when she was down. He tried to explain that Shan Junhao cared for her but was too straightforward to express it, and that she valued the process of their relationship more than the outcome.
Fan Yunyi described her relationship with Shan Junhao as a train reaching its destination soon after departing, implying his focus on work left little room for the "journey." Xu Ziqian reassured her, explaining that while Shan Junhao was ambitious, his world was simple; apart from work, she was his only focus, and he had never looked at another woman since childhood. Ye Qianyu offered Taichu a free guided tour as thanks for his help.
Despite his preference for solo travel, he agreed. Ye Qianyu introduced him to Guanmei Fishing Village, recounting stories like the history of the windmill, which a Spanish missionary built a century ago to aid the villagers. She even offered him her special Ye’s Flower Tea for free, making him appreciate her as a guide. Meanwhile, Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi met with Tang Shunming in Guanmei to discuss Senwell’s compensation package.
Xu Ziqian apologized for the previous day’s incident and presented the terms. Tang Shunming, more concerned with saving Guanmei Hotel than the money, asked for more time to consider. Xu Ziqian explained that while he understood Tang's emotional attachment, demolition was inevitable according to the agreement, and Senwell had offered a generous two-million-yuan compensation, the highest they had. He suggested Tang could use the money to pay employees and even repurchase housing in the new community.
Xu Ziqian urged Tang to consider how to make Guanmei better, not just preserve the old. He granted Tang one week, emphasizing that after that, the demolition of Guanmei Hotel would proceed regardless of whether he signed the agreement. Tang later declared to his staff that he would not accept the money.
Shan Junhao, having purchased a ring named "True Love," which was said to tightly fit only on the finger of one's true love, sought to propose to Fan Yunyi. He found her working diligently, remarking on her commitment. He tried to frame their outing as a project inspection but Xu Ziqian, noticing Shan's true intention, playfully exposed his shyness and left them to it. Shan Junhao noticed Fan Yunyi's interest in a hot air balloon ride.
He paid the 1,000-yuan fee for two, and an additional 1,000 yuan to skip the queue and fly immediately, as the balloon typically required four passengers. During the ride, Fan Yunyi remarked on Shan Junhao being different today, riding the balloon with her. He clarified he did so because she liked it and asked her to be direct about her wishes, as he disliked guessing.
Shan Junhao presented the "True Love" ring and proposed to Fan Yunyi, asking her to marry him. She challenged him to place it on her finger to prove its "true love" magic. However, before he could, the hot air balloon's tie-down cord suddenly severed, sending them plummeting. Shan Junhao told her to hold on to him. They survived the fall. Despite the near-death experience, Fan Yunyi found it to be the most romantic and exciting adventure she had ever experienced.
She told Shan Junhao that it was a chance from "God to prove their love," and in that moment, she felt him protecting her life with his own. Convinced of his love, she accepted his proposal. Shan Junhao lamented that the ring was lost, but Fan Yunyi said it didn't matter, as the ring was now in her heart, and she no longer doubted his love for her.
Shan Junhao noticed the strong wind and suggested Fan Yunyi wait in the car while he spoke to the hot air balloon owner. Meanwhile, Ye Qianyu received a call from her brother, Ye Shengzhe, informing her that their hot air balloon's tie-down cord had snapped and two people were on board. She quickly excused herself from Taichu, reminding him to return her cup to Money Bag Grocery. On the beach, she found the dropped ring and, curious, tried it on.
She then encountered Shan Junhao, who was heading to confront the balloon owner. Ye Qianyu immediately recognized him and demanded the money he owed her from the IOU. Shan Junhao explained that the IOU was real, and the phone number belonged to his assistant, Li Dawei, whom he had simply forgotten to inform. He assured her that Li Dawei would pay her.
Ye Qianyu, however, refused to believe him, citing his previous broken promise which had prevented her from buying back her mother's piano. As they argued, Shan Junhao overheard her conversation with Ye Shengzhe on the phone and realized the hot air balloon belonged to her family. Shan Junhao angrily confronted her, accusing her family's hot air balloon of nearly killing him and his fiancée.
Ye Qianyu, confirming the balloon was indeed theirs, countered that it was merely an accident, and since he was unharmed, she could simply refund the ride fare. She then accused him of still owing her 8,500 yuan, calling him shameless for having no bottom line when it came to money. Shan Junhao retorted, calling her shameless for trying to extort him, suggesting she might have deliberately cut the cord to blackmail him. He then noticed his ring on her finger.
He tried to retrieve it, but it wouldn't come off. Annoyed, he told her to keep it, saying he disliked things touched by others, especially by her, before walking away. Ye Qianyu, left fuming, called him a liar and vowed never to see him again.
