Dawei returned to Senwell with Shan Junhao. During their drive, Dawei informed Shan Junhao about Taichu’s activities in Guanmei Fishing Village. He revealed that Taichu had been living at Guanmei Inn for a long time, initially unrecognized as Dadao or a representative of the International Travel Association. Taichu had significantly helped the villagers, even co-leading the renovation of Guanmei Inn with Tonghao.

Dawei noted that much of Taichu’s efforts were due to Ye Qianyu, leading many, including Chen Jinzhi, to view Taichu as a potential wealthy son-in-law for Ye Qianyu, despite Ye Qianyu and Tonghao's mutual affection. Shan Junhao, reflecting on the incident where Dawei was presumed "kidnapped," subtly downplayed it in his report to his mother, choosing not to use the word "kidnapped."

He told her that Dawei was injured in Guanmei Fishing Village while attempting to close down Guanmei Inn, and had to stay there. He explained Dawei hadn't informed him earlier because he was tired and had "slacked off," reassuring her that Dawei was now fine. Following the successful negotiation facilitated by Taichu, the Guanmei Inn team gathered for a celebratory dinner. Everyone expressed their gratitude to Taichu, with Fengqiao playfully calling him "Cabriolet guy."

However, the celebratory mood turned awkward when Ye Shengzhe innocently remarked that Taichu had "taken the place of Tonghao." Later, Chen Jinzhi privately discussed her concerns with Lao Tang, expressing fears that Shan Junhao would once again hurt Ye Qianyu. She suggested that Taichu, with his good looks, talent, and wealth, could help Ye Qianyu forget Tonghao.

Lao Tang, disapproving of her mercenary outlook, accused Chen Jinzhi of being a "playgirl" who always thought of money and new romances, stating that love cannot be forced and warning her not to "corrupt Qianyu." Their heated exchange, a familiar occurrence, drew comments from others at the table about their frequent quarrels. Meanwhile, Xu Ziqian returned to his apartment to find Zhang Minghan already inside, having cleverly deduced the door code was Fan Yunyi’s birthday.

Zhang Minghan, expressing sympathy, reminded Xu Ziqian of his previous warnings about the suspicious circumstances surrounding his father Xu Yifeng's equity transfer to Shan Yaolong. Xu Ziqian dismissed these as attempts to create conflict between him and Shan Junhao, insisting that his father valued friendship and willingly transferred his shares. Zhang Minghan countered, explaining that Shan Yaolong and Xu Yifeng were never truly friends.

He revealed that Xu Yifeng’s failed investment in Dongdao Finance, a company owned by his close friend who subsequently absconded with funds, made him a "thorn in the eye" for Shan Yaolong, who then forced him to transfer his shares. Zhang Minghan presented an audio recording, which he claimed his own father had secretly made because he found the situation unfair.

The recording captured Shan Yaolong coercing Xu Yifeng to sign away his shares, reminding him of past financial missteps, including a 300 million loss from Dongdao Finance, and asserting that Xu Yifeng was a "hindrance" to Senwell and unsuited for leadership, suggesting he pursue his dream of world travel instead. Xu Yifeng reluctantly signed, accusing Shan Yaolong of being cruel.

Despite hearing the recording, Xu Ziqian remained skeptical, accusing Zhang Minghan of fabricating the evidence to remove Shan Junhao from his general manager position. Zhang Minghan openly admitted his ambition to oust Shan Junhao but maintained that he pursued his goals fairly and believed he could lead Senwell to greater success. He left a copy of the recording for Xu Ziqian to verify, explaining that while Xu Yifeng bore some responsibility, Shan Yaolong’s actions were overly aggressive.

Zhang Minghan then pointed out that Xu Ziqian, as a mere "little director," possessed nothing compared to his father’s legacy, questioning if he still wished to protect the Shan family before Xu Ziqian angrily told him to "Get out!" Zhang Minghan left with a final warning against tolerating such "snakes."

Plagued by profound inner turmoil and conflict, torn between his biological father and the adoptive father who raised him, Xu Ziqian repeatedly listened to the recording alone in his apartment, drowning his sorrows in alcohol. His disappearance worried Shan Junhao, who tried repeatedly to call him. Unable to reach him, Shan Junhao sent an employee to check on Xu Ziqian, only to be told he wasn’t home and couldn’t be found anywhere.

Shan Junhao's mother also expressed deep concern, having not slept all night. Shan Junhao was on the verge of calling the police when a disheveled Xu Ziqian finally arrived at the office. Xu Ziqian quickly fabricated a story about losing his phone and attending a late school reunion to conceal his true distress. Shan Junhao, though concerned, accepted his explanation and assigned him the critical task of managing personnel changes following Zhang Minghan’s recent restructuring.

Xu Ziqian, uncharacteristically, questioned if Shan Junhao truly trusted a "little director" with such an important responsibility. Shan Junhao, in turn, emphasized that Xu Ziqian and Fan Yunyi were the only two people he completely trusted in Senwell, and that their future burdens would only increase.

After the meeting, Shan Junhao privately urged Xu Ziqian to call his mother, who was worried, and offered to drink with him if he needed to, advising him not to "mess himself up again" alone. Xu Ziqian patted Shan Junhao’s shoulder before leaving, his face no longer reflecting the easygoing and bright demeanor he once had.

Later, Aunt Jiang found Xu Ziqian and expressed her ongoing worry, bringing him his favorite caviar and fondly remarking that she loved him like her own son, even more than Junhao, because he was always "good and sweet" and never caused her trouble. Shan Junhao jokingly chimed in that his mother did indeed love Xu Ziqian more. Aunt Jiang then suggested Xu Ziqian take a day off, noting his tired appearance.

Seizing the opportunity, Xu Ziqian asked Aunt Jiang about his parents, specifically why his father had given up his Senwell shares to travel the world. Aunt Jiang recounted the long-familiar narrative: his father was a man who "snubbed fame and fortune," and traveling with his mother was his lifelong dream. She sorrowfully acknowledged the accident that cut their lives short but offered no new details.

Aunt Jiang reiterated that Xu Yifeng and Shan Yaolong were "like brothers," "best friends and best partners" who never quarreled, much like Shan Junhao and Xu Ziqian. She reassured Xu Ziqian that he would "always be her son" and that "here is always your home." Despite these comforting words, Xu Ziqian subtly began to implement his own agenda at work.

He instructed an employee to proceed with a personnel adjustment plan that involved demoting trusted long-term employees and preparing to fill vacancies with his own selected candidates, overriding the employee's concerns about Shan Junhao’s potential disapproval and the impact on veteran staff. Xu Ziqian asserted that the employee only saw their "surface loyalty" and did not "read their minds," implying a deeper motive for his actions.

Concurrently, at Guanmei Inn, Ye Qianyu and Taichu meticulously reviewed the business reports, recognizing that low visitor flow was their primary challenge and that sustained growth was essential to elevate the inn's performance within the one-month deadline Shan Junhao had given them. They quickly realized that traditional advertising was too expensive. However, they discovered an upcoming Taurus meteor shower on October 16, just ten days away, with Guanmei Fishing Village identified as the "best viewing place."

They hailed this as a "God-blessed opportunity," prompting Ye Qianyu to propose a large-scale event. They recalled Tonghao's previous plan for the first Tourism and Culture Festival, which was shelved after his departure, and decided to revive and "redesign" it around the meteor shower. Taichu suggested inviting "influential people" to promote the inn, but Ye Qianyu was skeptical, noting that her only influential acquaintance was Chen Jinzhi, who monopolized the local water supply.

Taichu confidently promised to handle inviting the necessary "media professionals." The entire Guanmei Inn team plunged into preparations for the meteor shower event. Ye Qianyu explained that the Tourism and Culture Festival aimed to promote the village's culture and attract tourists, with Guanmei Inn as the main organizer, thereby boosting its visibility. She planned to promote the event on her Weibo, while Taichu would invite media professionals who would receive special treatment to ensure positive publicity.

Despite the tight one-week schedule, everyone committed to working together. Amidst the flurry of activity, which often meant eating instant noodles, Lao Tang noticed Ye Shengzhe. Offering to pick him up from school, Lao Tang was confronted by Shengzhe, who, after six years of waiting for his father, accused him of neglecting his duties.

Lao Tang confirmed Shengzhe was his son and made amends by bringing him to the inn and personally cooking a steak—a special meal compared to the instant noodles Shengzhe usually ate with Ye Qianyu. Despite Shengzhe’s picky criticisms of the steak and demand for orange juice, Lao Tang doted on him, delighting in his newfound paternal role. The others at the inn observed Lao Tang’s "unusual" behavior towards Shengzhe.

Later, Taichu presented Ye Qianyu with a list of confirmed "we media" guests, but Ye Qianyu noticed the absence of Princess Snow, an influential media personality whose programs she admired for their professional recommendations. Taichu suggested Princess Snow might have declined because "he" had extended the invitation, hinting at a past connection or rivalry. Ye Qianyu was disappointed, recognizing Princess Snow's crucial role in making the festival a success.

The team then decided to research Princess Snow’s social circle and other information to find a "breakthrough," recalling Tonghao’s past advice about strategy and perseverance. Before going to bed, Lao Tang, concerned about the cold and everyone’s busy schedules, rushed Shengzhe home.
